Thanks for making this video. Yeah, we could make a day-long video just naming everything these bastards have done. What to their own employees; what to their games and our beloved franchises; what to everything.

If halo ce-3 got an update adding offline bots so i can play private matches when i get the urge, I'd be happy with the series resting. Also hoping Id software moves onto a new ip or ressurecting a different old ip after doom the dark ages, since its a prequel. With these three games the new doom story will have been told.

I do find comfort in Bobby Kotick being completely unaware that he looks like a circus clown without makeup who wears a suit.

I bought Quake 3 Arena for £30 and played it for 4 years. No additional costs. That’s not a good money making model for the games company I guess. I miss the purity of Quake. It’s just you, your reaction time and your ability to dominate the map. It had no fancy game modes, roles, abilities, squad based rubbish, vehicles or other complicated nonsense. It’s was fast, furious, fiercely addictive and I think had 3 buttons to worry about. 2 if you used the mouse wheel. I enjoyed Halo CE for a while after that but eventually the community turned its attention to shiny new game modes and the CoD style games or war sims that dominate now, and I lost interest. The likes of Apex, Fortnite etc can take a run off a cliff. I haven’t played an fps in maybe 18 years.

I dont care about the money game. When I finish my day I just wish to relax and sit back. If I do that while playing multiplayer, I will get destroyed. I wouldn’t be able to walk for 10 seconds without dying, if I played casually. People nowadays are soooo desperate for dopamine. Multiplayer has turned into a professional sport. You have to spent hours a day not only playing but also researching in order to even slightly compete with the other players. THAT is the reason why I don’t like it anymore. I used to love playing online and have fun. Now that’s simply impossible. You can’t have fun, because you get killed instantly. That’s multiplayer nowadays. And what if you get better? You’ll just get matched with even more skilled players. There is no relaxation in multiplayer anymore. And after a full day of work, I don’t long for more stress. It’s extremely sad, because I used to love multiplayer so much. But it’s more intense nowadays than a 2 hour workout.

Update: DRG loot pool was kinda getting bloated from all the added loot, so now there going to add a system to let you regrind previous performance passes I frincking love it, especially since i'm still grinding upgrades so i don't have any resources to spare on cosmetics. I have nothing but good wishes for ghost ship games

Honestly back then, games seemed way more fun. I remember being 12, grabbing an xbox 360 and 4 random games. Crackdown, Left 4 dead 2, Black ops, and Mortal Kombat 9. I remember gaining 100 friends each week and having to refresh and go through my friends list because it kept getting full. Now it seems people reluctantly play fortnite and the new cod, or just waiting for gta 6.

Coop multiplayer is the best thing ever. PVP can go f*** itself back to 2015.

I'm not sure I agree about team games, cause I don't know of many modern games that rely on a team as a whole besides the obvious like overwatch or paladins, maybe cause that's cause I haven't played most new multiplayer games. But otherwise I agree with and have experienced everything else you talked about.

i need to get into more rail shooters. They are all so cool but i suck at them. Also i love the hud and UI elements in a lot of these games. Having your bullets around a big gamey looking crosshair is cool

This was a very good video man, this fills out all the things I've always felt as an online multiplayer lover who used to play online pvp a lot The people became more toxic and less fun to play with Skill based match making made games extremely frustrating Greedy people have indeed ruined the industry And I am tired of pretending that Fortnite is not to blame for the decline of pvp in videogames.

Years of playing game have giving me my video game commandments: 1. No micro transactions 2. No FOMO 3. No preorder 4. Always get discounts unless it is the game you know you really really love it 5. This video sums up why I have went on to singleplayer games or modes... or in the case of MMOs, going full solo - the experience of having to put up with other players can be overwhelming and numbing to the senses. Not to mention, I've played some of the competitive games before, it has admittedly amplified my depressive episodes due to the toxicity and eSports wannabe environment. On the side of MMORPGs, I have chosen to become a full-time solo-only player after putting up with so much in-fighting and backstabbing in guilds.

when i go into a game's customization and i see things that are just completely unavailable i usually just use default until i find a new game to play. admittedly im not a dipshit who buys a battle pass without the intent to already spend a lot of time playing. basically ive only ever bough overwatch 2's first battle bass which i finished and i havent bought one again until season 9 becasue they made a bunch of skins that i really liked. i literally stopped playing the game entirely because the other passes sucked and i didnt have anything to progress toward. and the biggest shame is that i would buy season 6 now if i could. i seriously miss halo right now.

Unpopular opinion: if you play the game just to unlock some cosmetics and feel the need to have every single one and don't play the game for the gameplay, you shouldn't play the game in the first place. In fact, you are the reason these companies use these predatory tactics because you're too hooked to get a damn dumb skin.

I still think multiplayer is great fun. Frustrating sometimes but that's what makes winning rewarding, the risk of losing. There's bullshit to be found in monetization and certain players. But AI never compares to a real person for entertainment value in competition. I'm not here to prove myself or rank up or whatever. It's just fun getting kills. Sometimes you lose but whatever. I don't get most of the complaints, just play. Legit, who cares that other people take the game seriously. Alot of salty noobs in this comment section lol. Let other people be competitive and use the meta and use comms. You don't have to. Matchmaking will sort you out. Just ignore parts of a game you don't like, such as battle passes. You have to filter life, life won't adjust to you and ensure you always win and are loved by everyone.

as a fight n' rage fan, games having no progession system is a plus thank god I don't have to spend hours compromised grinding for the build I want, simply just being better at the game is a much better progression system than any progression system

This game looks absolutely fuckin nutty. My usual go-to for a game is something where you play a, or have the option to play juggernaut of a character. My modus operandi is strapping on heavy armor, grabbing a belt-fed machine gun, and stomping towards the enemy while shrugging off a hail of incoming fire and dishing it right back out, surviving by relying on my armor while I litter the floor with corpses, spent brass and belt links as quickly and efficiently as possible. So this isn’t exactly my type of game, but even still, it looks like a veritable masterpiece.

Coop games are the absolute best man. The worst I can complain about is a random running off into the far reaches of the map and splitting up to go do their own thing. Thats the absolute worst of it. No toxicity, no tryharding. Perhaps some min-maxing, I will admit. I’ve played shitloads of Warframe, Payday 2, pretty much played the PVE side of Destiny 2 exclusively and almost never touched crucible, Darktide, lots of L4D2 back in the day, and Helldivers 2 has been my main focus for the past month. But the min-maxing is the sweatiest part of it, and even then, it still benefits the team. Instead of breeding toxicity, it breeds questions. What items/mods/upgrades/perks are you taking??? What gear are you using to make that build so powerful and where do I get it?

This is my favorite game in the series and remains in that spot to this day, the clunky-ish charm, the graphics, sound effects, progression of story and especially the Soundtrack, everything about this game feels so cosy to boot up and play no matter what mood I'm in and I love every bit. Fiance got to play it properly since some 'friends' of hers in the past just kept griefing her on the second level because they were just childish, I recently convinced her to give it a second chance with me on MCC, both rocking the game like the good old days of split screen on Normal difficulty with the old Graphic/Sound settings and she absolutely loved it. (She loves the Covenant Dance soundtrack the most, bless her.) Halo: CE, my- No...our beloved. A fantastic love letter, Law.

the thing that's super frustrating for me is i made a irl friends through gaming as a kid and now try to game when were free but I get frustrated by like half of the points in this vid and cant even bring myself to play more than a few matches sometimes and honestly its frustrating to know I never played multilayer games during their peak but just as they entered their fall
