Why we use scythes instead of a brushcutter | MOWING MEADOWS E03: Lagmansro vs Styra
Просмотров 115 тыс.4 месяца назад
Welcome to another episode of Mowing Meadows where we take a look at two meadows that make it very clear why we use scythes instead of machines. A lot of people say we should be using brushcutters, weedwackers, clearing saws... but they fail to understand the natural environment where we work. We don't scythe to eliminate plants, we scythe so that they can live. By showing the different results...

I have a few private clients who hire me every year to mow parts of their garden or property that they keep as meadow. It’s a different kind of job compared to the big meadows we usually work on, but just as nice! This time, I’m at Else’s garden, which I have been mowing for 7 years now. The meadow is situated on a slope, there are trees, bushes, low-hanging branches and wire fencing - lot’s of...

My dad was super excited when he bought one when I was like 8. He asked me to cut the grass of our trailer home. I was cutting out the grass until it got caught on something I assumed was a root. Keep in mind he kept it sharper than a razor sharp. I pulled it toward me quite hard and cut the pvc water lines for the trailer. The water wound up flooding the whole yard while he was t work and I was scared to tell him what happened. That’s the last time I used a scythe to cut grass

Not faster. Less tiring. More practical for a larger area. Brushcutters are superior in all aspects except silence. And the scythe needs sharpening

I prefer a scythe rather than a lawn mower. it is important that the blade is well "tapped" and sharpened. it is relaxing.

A scythe is not faster 😂💀 whoever told you that probably sucked with a trimmer. Your cut with the scythe wasn’t even along the building and there were still weeds / grass close to the edge. A scythe is inferior to a whacker in every way as a tool, not considering that a whacker needs gas and maintenance
