My mechanic told me it’s not worth it to fix it. He said the part is $20 but the service is 5k 🤯 Sounds like piss poor engineering on BMW’s part. Just like their valve cover seals. I’ll never buy another BMW. Waste of $$.

I know this is an old video but if you use a small butane soldering gun you can heat up the headlight adjustment bolts and they'll come off easily without having to replace the whole units.

I’ve seen a video how removing the headlight isn’t mandatory

Do you replace the bolts with steel ones? Where can you get all of the bolts. I think there are 33 total

Those oem bolts are tty (torque to yield). Did you manage to replace them with a higher strength bolt that doesn't require it?

Wow, I went to a Ford Fast Lane yesterday for an oil change and tire rotation. Funny thing is I marked one of the wheels and had to prove to them they did not rotate the tires. They were charged for it . America has become lazy, half assed and second rate!!!

If the title had 'Macan Timing Cover Bolts' or 'Without Removing Engine', the views would be exponentially higher. Would love to know what fluids had to be drained/disconnected for this job. Obviously coolant, but the video doesn't show refilling. Looks like the a/c is being recharged at the end. Does a/c need to be disconnected too?

Has anyone experienced an issue, i select drive and the vehicle obviously moves forward without applying the throttle, then when you do apply the throttle it double jumps as if it were taking up slack somewhere? In both forward and reverse gears. It also does the same double jump/clunk when down shifting from 2-1st. Any ideas what would cause this??

I have a faint recollection that the mounting bolts are special tension bolts that need to be replaced ?

The noise it makes can cause you to be almost certain you have a ball joint or sway bar link problem.

Very interesting indeed! I’ve had a very slight drivetrain vibration on my 2013 640d since I bought it. While changing the oil yesterday I had a look at this bushing and found it’s cracked like this f10. I am hoping this is the cause of the slight vibes I get at motorway cruising speeds. I’ve done this job before on an E92, interesting to see it can be done without disconnecting the prop shaft and drive shafts. Thanks for the well made videos.
