I'm still figuring things out with recording...getting ideas etc...long story short: I like guitars :)
Gibson November Burst (SLASH) through Marshall MG100HDFX
Just a riff a came up with (my goto chord progression when warming up) through a Marshall MG100HDFX…effects and reverb from the amp, no pedals added.

Just plugged my new EHX Canyon, still need to figure the settings etc…my son decided to shoot a quick video…sorry for the background noise. Thanks for watching, so far this is an awesome little pedal! @EHX

I really like this Melody and have been working on my fingerpicking quite a bit, still way far to be good at it but I’m always been a “pick” player. Any suggestions?

I just got this and I’m trying to love it. I feel like j should have gotten the Boss RV-6 & the Boss Bass Station 😢 I want to live this tho. There’s a switch inside the pedal that can change the length of the shimmer and other settings. I’m going to mess with it this weekend and hopefully find some kick-arse sounds.
What Brand of strings do you use on the 12 string neck that are long enough for that setup?
Its not redundant with this Marshall.. The Marshall this pedal is likened to is the JTM45 (if what ive read is true) Ive never owned a JTM but with no master volume it would need to be dimed to attain this growl.
Hey!! Great video! Do you have more info about that model? I am gettin one but i font have to much info ablut it is it a readl wood fingerboard? What are the pickups?
@@GustavoZepeda Hi, thanks for watching. Yes, this a 2018 Gibson LP Classic model. Is basically an “80s standard”, it has a regular tedious board, can’t remember exactly but it doesn’t have the flatter board starting on the 12th fret and a bit more curved from 1st to 11th. It is a rosewood board, it has the classic 9 hole weight relief body. From what I recall the electronics are 57 and super 57 on the bridge…oh and a satin finish vs the standard glossy finish. I hope this helps and enjoy your new guitar!
Love it! Would love to see the settings on the pedal. 😭
How did you like the guitar overall? Any major upgrades? Are the pots and frets good?
Whats the tune stability of this one?
I’ve got this guitar. I do like it. Looks great, pickups sound good. I do have tuning issues with it though compared to my other FR equipped guitars
Non weight relieved? Handwired?
She pretty I take her home with me in FL usa
If it only had an ebony board. 😟
Hey there, thanks for watching….I have to say, this board feels great, can’t remember what variety was since rosewood was banned for a little bit with imports but is definitely a better kind of “rosewood”. Feels closer to Ebony than my other rosewoods feel to Ebony if that makes sense.
Forgot to add…the guitar is dark blue not black…filters…😂
Those are nice
Which strings does it use?
I got 9/42 on the 6th and 8/40 on the 12th…couldn’t find 9/42s for the 12 and didn’t want to go heavier. Thanks for watching. 👊🏼
Buy a Firefly or Harvey Benton double neck that are $500 and get a hard shell case.
were did you get that guitar it looks sick.
Thank you, got it from Musicians Friend…had it in preorder for a little while until the order finally shipped.
Is that the Alex version of Rush?
No, is the “special edition” which is white, the regular one is the cherry red/Jimmy Pagr every one is familiar with. It looks like a Lifeson/Felder/Wylde but is not a signature model.
@@iavera I just saw a video of lifeson talking about the one he used in 2112. He did some work on it. It just happened that I see this video and looks so similar
Beautiful guitar by the way. I am an Epiphone guy my self. But not 12 string 😬
Neck EDS 1275
4:25 Loved the Cry Baby effect. 🤣Seriuslly, the kid even matched the key
Hahaha as organic as it gets! 😂😂😂
Turn the shimmers up!!! Sounds great though!!!
Thank you! Should have turned the volume up you're right!
I got one a few days ago, the frets were not seated correctly in the 6 string neck, i sent it back.
That sucks, sorry to hear that I had that happen years ago on a Jackson, and sort of recently on my LTD 1007FR but I ended up leveling the fret myself (15th on the high E). Are you exchanging for the same one?
@@iavera I took it to a place near my home Noll Guitars to have it repaired, they suggested I return it for another one. quite a few frets were bad, raised up, yes they could have repaired the guitar, but Noll Guitar said may be more frets woud give me problems sooner than later. I sent it back , more of them were expected to be delivered in a month or so. I ordered a case from musicians friend, because where i got the guitar from did not have a case for it. I still have the case. I got 40 more days to return the case. may be i get another one
@@iavera OK , so I am getting another one. should be in tommorow
another white one
Cool! I love my DS. For what I was hearing you play - I would try those mids at about 1-2 oclock. Just my opinion. Keep shreddin brah
Thank you! I’ll try that later today, I should have record a pedal off them on video. I was thinking maybe the amp settings were the issue. Thanks for watching 🤘🏼👊🏼
@@iavera the great thing about the DS is u can use it to ENHANCE and already distorted amp (like an OD) or use it as a full distortion. Rock on
The Dirty Shirley into a marshall, isn't that kind of redundant?
Well…the thing is I was trying to find a distortion pedal to fit the Marshall. The head’s overdrive is ok but is missing something, the EHX metal muff is too trebly, so I got this one, way closer to what I want so I’ll keep tweaking. Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼👊🏼
@@iavera have you tried just using an overdrive in front of the Marshall?? You can get the exact same exact tone.
@@mark5150ty I have not, the amp has 2 overdrive channels. I find them A bit dry, I’ll record a video clean, each dirty channel, then the DS just for the sake of comparison…with the same guitar. Thanks for the suggestion! 🤘🏼
@@mark5150ty Another quick follow up...so I tried the Marshalls OD1 and OD2, then the DS. They all sound SO different in person then I recorded on the phone and all the differnce is volume...might post but sounds very similar, the dynamics are completely different.
@@iavera well the od1,od2, & DS are actually really distortion pedals not overdrive's, you should be trying klon centaur style, Tube Screamer Style, or a really good boost pedal. You set the amp slightly dirty and smack the front end with the volumes of the pedals turned up, you can turn up the drive to little bit to blend in but you want the actual overdrive from the amplifier by boosting the volume signal, then shape it with the tone knob on the pedal.
Top
I was using the Octave setting, delay and feedback were around 12o clock.
No case?
No case. Is one of those things...it would have been nice to have one but it would have taken way too much room, already have plenty of cases, thanks for watching. :D
Is the neck 50's or 60's?
Epiphone is a bit different than the Gibson 50s or 60s. I honestly say is something in the middle, is NOT a chunky 50s neck but not as slim as a 60s. Is more of a D shape neck. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
@@iavera Understood thanks for reply.

Yes! 🎉 planning to go see Petrucci next month looking forward to this song live.
Love it!🎉
Thank you 👊🏼🤘🏼

Thank you! Is my go to right now. Always at reach. 👊🏼
where to buy!?
Hello, I got my from musicians friend, not sure if still in stock. Guitar center had them for some time too. Thanks for watching.
Great playing!! Is the the kelly shape comfortable?
Hello, thanks for watching. Yes, it’s very comfortable. I do have to admit my 90s Kelly (waiting to be restored) was a bit more comfortable cause of the contour instead of binding.
Just found your channel. I too have a few guitars. Lol. Liked and subbed. Come check out my new axe If u have a minute. Blue burst!
I have been using this ax for almost a year. I choose this Kelly because I saw your video. :D
Awesome!!! Sorry, Meant to reply earlier! Is such a sweet guitar. I Hope you’re having a blast with the Kelly 👊🏼🤘🏼
Made in 2020/2021?
Yes, 2021 sorry I missed your comment! Got it hmm around may 2021.
Thanks you.
bought this guitar and now i have her for like three months shes so awesome!
Awesome to hear, I’m glad you’re enjoying her! 🤘🏼🎸
really considering getting this as my next guitar, would you recommend?
Yes, absolutely. I am partial cause this is the same style guitar I played years ago so I was glad to get another one, and I’ll say it again, the neck is probably the or one of the most comfortable ones I have by far. Still fast and shreddy but not as small as a 90s Jackson…I have a JDR94, that’s a thin neck! Good luck and merry Christmas 👊🏼🤘🏼🎸
Soon as I see the word Special on the bridge, I run like hell!!!!!
😂 why?! I have FR specials, regular FR, Jackson FR, an FR special for Schecter...they are all a bit different but none is a “bad one”. Thanks for watching 🤘🏼
Did you need to set it up much out of the box? I'm about to order one today. I know the floyd rose is gonna be finicky, I mean like the playability. Did you need to adjust the neck at all? How's the action? It looks and sounds like a sweet guitar.
No, just tuned it up and it was fine for a while, the only thing I’ve noticed after a year is the high E tends to go out of tuning randomly. Need to figure it out cause it looks fine, might need to change strings. I tend to clean them, just take good overall care so I don’t need to change them often. Right now is tuned standard (I’m pretty sure...) the action was right out of the box.
@@iavera that's good to hear about the action and how its held up after a year, thanks man. about your high e, maybe its the floyd rose? I've never had one myself, but I've heard they can be touchy sometimes.
This is such an AWESOME looking guitar, definitely my next guitar, ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! Thanks for sharing this, you ROCK BROTHER!!!!
I'm glad you like it, thanks for watching! Still definitely one of my "go to's" I still find the Kelly shape super comfortable.
I just came

Curious Question. Is there anyway i can buy a same model but without the Tremolo Bar on it??? I feel like i'm not gonna use it.
Not that I’ve seen. It may vary in different countries. The only model without a trem that I’ve seen is in the JS series.
@@iavera oh ok great. Gonna consider them as a long term guitar. How does the fretboard feel???
Good lookin guitar, i like the white on black and gold hardware. It looks light. Hows it going after a year?
Dang, time flies...still no issues whatsoever. Stays perfectly in tune, I am always making sure the term is parallel to the body, that sure helps. Still enjoying it a whole lot 🤘🏼!
I'm looking at Jacksons RRT made in (i guess) same factory, are you satisfied with quality control and feel of the guitar? They look really nice but a lot of people say bad things about indonesian made jacksons.
No issues with the guitar, if I’m going to be extra picky then I’d say the 2 gold knobs are different but no way you can tell a couple feet apart. The neck and fretboard are flawless, smooth, no sharp ends (mostly cause of the binding), it’s a great guitar I haven’t had any quality issues at all. Good luck!
@@iavera Thanks!
Very simple looking guitar
Jackson Kelly made in U.S.A. , the definition of metal guitar I still stand for the 90s KE II , symphony of destruction
That things beautiful I have an old js1
Shit! Thats an awesome guitar! Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹
Thank you!
I can never understand why people do a video of unboxing an instrument that’s so uneducated . Play the dam thing after it’s unboxed so we can hear it
This is an UNBOXING video as the title says, that's it. If you want to hear how it sound check out my other video. There weren't a lot of videos of this guitar when I purchased it, I figured posting an unboxing could help some people, I still need to work on how to properly record audio, I am sure the video helped someone looking for how the guitar actually looks beyond the stock photos. Thanks for watching.
