I'm enamored with it! The casting is spot-on - I found myself shocked by how Tom Sturridge held himself. I'm relatively pleased that the fandom seems to acknowledge the comics as well, as compared to the GO fandom. The few plot changes they've done have resolved issues I've always had with Sandman (Lyta's introduction, Lucifer's motivation), which is FANTASTIC for me. Looking forward to season 2,, I can't WAIT to see season of mists in tv form and I'm hoping to convert people to dreamingstar :D All that said, I probably won't be changing much about my interpretations of the characters based on the show, lol.

@@heather2701 the series really didn't feel like it kept the parts of the book that meant a lot to me -- but im genuinely glad it's a source of joy for you. i honestly think it's a good series, just that it's very different from the book that's very near and dear to me. have a nice day!

I read the book and then watched the show, they're definitely very different. I agree that they left out some really good parts and I still don't forgive them for not including the fact that Crowley slept through the entire 19th century.

@@andiwill1870 yes it was released 30 years ago! it is very good and tbh much gayer than the tv show! (az and crow! Hold Hands!) and it's also very vague about what crow and az look like so. book omens designs are more varied and interesting. i've been a fan of go since 2017 and i have Opinions

Dude you can’t say representations are “in accurate” according to the show, when this video was posted almost a year before the show came out lol. And yes, they are accurate to the books description.

I think either the dark brown/black hair or red is acceptable since the author wrote both the show and book, so if Crowley NEEDED a certain hair color I think he would’ve made sure that happened

I drew this as a joke long before the series came out, so generally assume that everything I draw ignores the TV version. They don't have too much interaction in the book, but I wanted to have Crowley be the male character here, and War seemed to fit the demeanor of the feminine voice. It's not supposed to be a commentary on the book; it's just a joke post. It could have been Anathema or Tracy or Metatron or Beelz, but I liked War for this video ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Think of this as an animated "incorrect quotes" post.

AuroralMelody oh thank you, its just that i saw other drawing of them together so I thought hmmm i would love to see if she has more things in the book, but i guess the others were just drawings her cause she is great XD

@@MariaEduarda-ng1thOh, yes, I think she's in the book a bit more - the TV series cuts out an entire section involving three other horsemen they interact with! And it goes more into detail on her as Carmine, and more of her other names. War is pretty great. It's a fairly popular book fandom headcanon that her sword is actually Aziraphale's old flaming sword. I'm not sure it's ever been confirmed, but it's a theory that a lot of people like.

AuroralMelody oh, the series actually say that her sword is Aziraphale’s! Theres even a little joke about him having it and then loosing again, classic zira. And thats great! I would love to see more of her, although i think series polution was the best. I cant wait to buy the book, i fell totally in love with the tv series, so i see glimpses of the book on tumblr im like, in love? Bless neil and terry for this pleasure

@@MariaEduarda-ng1th I don't remember that, I might have to rewatch :) The book is quite lovely! The reason you see so many different Aziraphale and Crowley designs around, though, is bc there's actually very little description of them in the book. Hence why I picture Crowley and Aziraphale the way I do (more on my art blog, to promo ^^); it's very vague. Almost every design people draw fits in the book's description of them!

@@SSMp315 Well, you said it in the most perfect way possible :) Btw I love the show even more than I thought I would - sure, I expected it to be really good, and my hopes were even higher, but the end result still blew all of my expectations out of the water, it just made me fall in love with the story all over again. And the first half of episode 3 is officially the best thing since sliced bread.

qwertyCandy Sliced Bread is really good, Ep. 3 is my fave out of all of them. The “you go too fast for me” by Aziraphale probably killed me and raised literally all of my standards for rom-coms up to 6000% more

@@SSMp315 Agreed 100%, it killed me and subsequently revived my soul in several moments - Crowley inspiring Shakespeare with a bit of poetry that's clearly about Aziraphale, that moment where not only does Crowley save Aziraphale again, despite the pain of walking on consecrated ground, but then even saves his books and offers him a ride home (might be my most favorite scene overall, and I swear Aziraphale fell in love with him in that moment), and then the whole moment with the holy water thermos and "You go too fast for me" - Michael Sheen's acting is so brilliant, that man can somehow put all of Aziraphale's emotions just into the slightest changes in his voice and face, especially his eyes, so you can literally feel his pain there and that he's talking about _so much more_ than just Crowley's habit to drive like a maniac... Ah, it was so brilliant that it's given me a mild existential crisis as I _know_ that there will never be anything quite like it ever again :( :)
