      @@Swampytheroot Yeah a lot of their guns come with them if you purchase the entire firearm from Franklin. This gun was pieced together from individual parts I mostly bought from Franklin's site. I say mostly because I went with some other manufacturers components, such as the Aero Precision M4E1 complete upper because Franklin doesn't sell a separate upper receiver for whatever reason, as well as the SB Tactical Brace and some other minor furniture. I could have bought one of their binary trigger kits but ended up going with a standard trigger instead for various reasons.

      From a shooting standpoint, they are the exact same gun with no functional difference. The regular 92FS came with the same black polymer grips as the M9A1 and I swapped in the wood grips myself. If I had to choose just one, it would be the M9A1 just because the frame has a rail to accept lights and lasers.

    They Should Of Made Those In Double Stack Js 🤦

    • @GigatonsGunworks
      @GigatonsGunworks 3 дня назад

      I'm fine with them not making the pistol double-stack in order to keep the grip super slim, but I wish that Browning or somebody would produce a larger magazine for their .22LR pistols like these and their Buck Marks. I'm surprised these Browning .22's have been around this long and all that's available are factory 10-round magazines. You'd think after all this time someone would have made an extended mag or a drum by now but I've never seen one for sale anywhere. 🙁

    Hi 22LR good defense ?? What is the best 22LR ammunition for defense in 2024? Which manufacturer makes a good Colt 1911 22lr model in 2024? Quality Weapon accuracy Durability Regards Arthur Warsaw

    • @GigatonsGunworks
      @GigatonsGunworks 4 дня назад

      I would recommend something bigger than .22LR for defense because I find rimfire occasionally unreliable. However, the people I know that carry .22LR for defense seem to trust the Personal Defense PUNCH ammunition produced by Federal (AKA "Federal Punch"). I am not sure what the best 1911 chambered in .22LR would be today. There aren't a lot of options because demand for that platform in .22LR is limited. I only have this one, and the Browning 1911-22 which is more reliable with feeding but not a full size 1911 so it's kind of small in the hand (ruclips.net/video/ez-ixr1JB34/видео.html). I would recommend considering a 9mm 1911 if that's not a deal breaker for you because there are a lot more options and 9mm is generally more reliable than .22LR. Good luck to you.

      @GigatonsGunworks 12 дней назад

      I'm in the same boat as you with the eyesight / age. I only use irons up to 50 yards and even at 50 a scope helps a lot. I wear glasses and it would probably help if I updated the prescription of the lenses for the pair I shoot with but I've had them for almost a decade and they are completely scratched and dinged up to hell from being my range beaters. I love them because they are super comfortable compared to my nicer pairs but it's hard to want to spend a few hundred dollars on new lenses when I know I'm just going to abuse the hell out of them. I'd rather spend the money on a new scope, LOL 😅

    Pretty cool setup but let me be the first to give you a heads up about the hex mag , I know they are affordable but the followers in them are made of a very cheap brittle plastic , back when i first got into that world i did it for two reasons one it was cheaper than magpul two the guy who invented the line is based in ga real close to where i live i thought i was doing a fellow gun enthusiast a favor in my hometown but it turns out that this product of his is just very quickly and cheaply made so i went back to using magpul and lancer mags never looked back save your money and get the brands you can depend on you will be happier !

    • @GigatonsGunworks
      @GigatonsGunworks 12 дней назад

      Ah that's interesting to hear. Did you experience a lot of failures with your Hexmags? I own a wide variety of AR magazines and mostly run Magpul, Lancer, and Duramag these days. I actually haven't bought a Hexmag in a long time but I have a bunch of them in every available color from my earlier days as well. My main reason for using them with this gun is that they are the only FDE color mags I have so it matches the color scheme of the rifle. I personally have never had a problem with any of my Hexmags but I also don't run them very hard. They are mostly range mags and I handle them pretty gently and don't drop them or anything. Thanks so much for your 2 cents!

      Yeah, scopes are really helpful for shooting longer ranges. I'm a big fan of shooting iron sights, but at 100 Yards and up that front sight post pretty much starts to cover up an entire human size silhouette target and it gets tougher to make accurate hits consistently. However, I'd encourage you to also scratch that bolt action rifle itch too.. they're great fun 😅. Thanks so much for watching!

    I've never seen anyone hold grips like that. I can't tell if he's left handed or right handed. To each his own. Always load with the hammer down on an empty chamber. The "safety" notch won't break but the flimsy trigger sear will break off in the safety notch if the gun is dropped on the hammer. Also, after some wear the trigger sear will be shorter so the firing pin will touch the cartridge primer with the hammer on "safety" notch. Beautiful pistol. I have one in 9mm. (PPP9MM) I can always find cheap ammo.

    Would a person with smaller hands have more difficulty using the double stack in home defense high intensity situation? My wife has small hands. I was about to buy a normal single stack with extended magazine capacity. But then i saw your video. What's your opinion for this situation?

    • @GigatonsGunworks
      @GigatonsGunworks 18 дней назад

      For small hands, a standard single-stack 1911 grip is going to be significantly easier to use. Even without the extended magazine, I don't think the difference in round count is worth sacrificing shootability / control. I also think there are few handguns that feel as ergonomically comfortable as a classic single-stack 1911 so there's also that. Good luck to you and the Mrs.

    • @GigatonsGunworks
      @GigatonsGunworks 20 дней назад

      Yep. ProMags are kind of hit or miss. For some guns they work fine, for others like with this XD they jam when they are close to full because the spring is kind of weak and it can't push the rounds up fast enough to feed the gun properly when there is too much weight. I got this ProMag just to play around with at the range but it's not a particularly good range mag. 😑

    Whats better glock23 or sig sauer

    • @GigatonsGunworks
      @GigatonsGunworks 20 дней назад

      They're both great, it just depends on your personal preference. The Glock is a classic and the Gen 5's come with 3 magazines and customizable grip. The SIG P320 comes with better iron sights and you can change everything about the gun including the frame (although that costs more money). Both guns are almost the exact same price from the factory. If you want a classic that is the best value out of the box, the G23 is a better pick. If you want better sights or want to spend more money to customize the heck out of the gun easily, the P320 is a good choice.

      It's a typical double action / single action (DA/SA) hammer pistol. It's single action after you load it, and includes a decocker so you can put the gun into double action for your next shot. It's always in single action immediately after loading or firing a round.

      Yeah I got the ProMag just for fun as well. ProMag's are kind of hit or miss. It jams sometimes when the mag is closer to full because the spring is a bit weak and isn't strong enough to push the weight of the ammo up fast enough to feed the gun properly. You can either buy a stronger spring to swap out, or not load the mag as full if you don't want to deal with jams.

    Does 357 hurt after a while? How about 38?

      If you shoot a ton of .357 Magnum non-stop from a small pistol like this, your wrists are bound to get tired and sore after awhile unless you are super jacked. With .38 Special you can shoot quite awhile with no issue because it's basically like shooting 9mm. That being said, this pistol is all steel so it has a bit more heft than other small aluminum or scandium airweight revolvers which helps reduce recoil and makes the gun more enjoyable to shoot.

    So if I dump this mf it ain’t gon jam ?😭

    I’ve got both. At the range the reaction is very different depending on the gun. The .357M makes people go damn, while the .44M makes people leave it’s so loud.

      Yeah these magnum handgun loads tend to turn heads at indoor ranges where the sound just gets amplified because of the enclosed space 😵

    1:16 can u put double springs in it and try again? Love the video🔥🔥🔥got the same mag just with double springs

      Yeah I also think it's an issue with spring power. The failures to feed only occur when I load the mag to full capacity. After shooting off some of the ammo it usually feeds fine until the mag is empty so I think the spring power isn't great enough to overcome the weight of the ammo when it's completely full. I appreciate your input and am glad to hear you enjoyed the video, thanks so much for watching!

    How would you say .44 special in a larger L frame compares in recoil and feel to a .38 kframe style gun (4inch) ? I felt .44 special to be similar in handling to .45 Auto, maybe a little less muzzle jump. Havent shot a larger .38 in a few years. Was wondering about guns. Thanks, btw you make the best pov videos ive seen yet ❤

      I agree with your assessment that .44 Special feels very similar to .45 Auto. I would say .38 Special from a 4" full frame revolver feels similar to 9mm from an equally heavy pistol. I'm glad you enjoy these videos, thanks so much for watching!
