Boonedox Rain Fly for the Drifter Hammock
The Rain Fly allows the hammock camper to stay dry from the dew or rain while resting in the Drifter Hammock and Stand. It comes with four tent stakes, five bungees and a bag. Four of the bungees should lead to the four stakes. The fifth should be hooked to the tips of the Drifter Frame. This provides a peak that creates clearance for the hammock camper once inside the Drifter Hammock.

    Enjoying your videos - both fishing and rigging! One question: What is this 180lb limitation I read about regarding the Groovy Boonedox Gear? I have no plans to rely on my Native Slayer Propel tracks - I will remove the built-in rod holders behind the seat and include HDPE mounting plates inside the hull. I'm thinking that with the shared weight of me holding the bow of the cart the 180lb limit is okay. What do you think?

    I have a 2020 hobie revo and been trying to get someone at Boonedox to answer me on where I should install. Behind the seat seems curved and the backing plate won't sit flush so maybe further back? I'm trying to find a picture or a video on someone installing it on a revo 11 before I drill there. Can someone please answer me? I've tried every form of communication for almost a week and can't get anyone to talk to me.

    • @doyledh
      @doyledh 6 месяцев назад

      Did you ever get an answer? I also have a Hobie OB 2020. It looks as thought the installation is not easy but the product may be what I'm looking for--an easy way to get from trailer to water and back again without having to wrestle with the Hobie scupper wheel gear.

    • @tarabrandewie288
      @tarabrandewie288 6 месяцев назад

      @@doyledh I never got an answer from anyone who did it so we just took the chance and turned out perfectly. It's been so hot we've only tried them out once so far. He has an outback too and we had no worries about installing on his, was just my revo no one has done. First time out was a little awkward figuring when to take the wheels out and turn them. Would be nice it was like a turn them and lock them in place but these you have to pull them out and then flip them and put them back in place, so depending on the water where you launch could be difficult. Was windy the day we launched so it was a little rough but coming in was a breeze. We just get out in the water, flipped them and walked right out. I'd recommend them. Don't need anyones help lifting to get the cart out of the scupper holes, like you said.

    • @boonedoxusa241
      @boonedoxusa241 9 месяцев назад

      I’m sorry to hear of your difficulties Mr. Bear. Bonafide started designing kayaks to handle this equipment after the SS 127. The Track Kit works well with the RVR 119 and PWR 129. The same is true with the more recent Native Watercraft models. This video shows one installation technique in particular that alleviates the potential of hull rupture of an overloaded kayak: rounding the corners of the “stiffener” board. Each rotomolded kayak has variable hull thickness from one area to the next. The key to a solid installation is to keep the stiffener plate as large as possible, shape it to the flat surface available inside the hull and round the edges of the plate that contact the hull. All of those techniques are demonstrated in this video. Again, we are sorry for your poor prior experience with Landing Gear. We made this video to help customers and dealers avoid hull rupture and have a better experience with Landing Gear than you have had.

    The boondox landing gear looks nice. How much extra weight does it add? I use Hobie Cart. Load it in out my truck bed. I've been doing that with both my pa12s almost 10 yrs now. I modified my cart. Replaced the top plugs with Hobie thread in black tie down plugs. They fit tight & perfect & I can drop a bungee through my kayak scupler holes, hook the Bungie clips to top of new plugs in the cart. Then I just lift back of my pro angler & bungie pulls cart up into holes perfect every time. Don't need anyone's help & never tip your kayak over again. You do have to get small double side carabineer clips to attach to bungee so they fit through the scupler holes. Home Depot & Lowe's carry them. I leave my kayak rigged at all times I haven't had roll it on its side to load my cart in 8+years. I also built a kayak stand on casters that sits level with my truck bed. So I can pull my kayak into my bed from the stand, or from my bed onto the stand. I only lift my kayak 1 time per trip when I load it back into my truck when I'm leaving. I wouldn't use a trailer if someone gave one to me. I wouldn't be able to go alot of remote areas I do if I had a trailer & if you don't have a trailer at the big lake in my area you don't have to pay to park & fish. If you have a trailer you gotta pay to park!

    I’m pretty sure you installed the spring incorrectly. You need to flip it around. You should not have to press fit it upon install. You’ll notice when you pull it out that it will now be over extended. No worries just flip it around that way when you pull up on the retract cord you will have pressure. Look at the underwater part of the video and you will notice that the rudder is not fully in the down position. Also to note that the tracking which is the biggest downside to a stock rudder is greatly improved with this rudder!

    • @boonedoxusa241
      @boonedoxusa241 11 месяцев назад

      I did struggle with the spring. There's only two ways to get it in there; one with the long leg in the plastic housing and the short leg in the rudder, and the other was swapping those two positions. My standard rudder wasn't fully deploying due to it being a 2019, and the majority of the last 5 years, the spring was compressed, stored with it tucked in. That spring needs to be replaced and I will do so when I get to a good Hobie dealer that has parts. My colleague Joe Komyati suggested this good practice on the installation; Prepare the rudder with gluing on the spacers FIRST. Then remove the old rudder, and let the spring hang from the housing without removing it. That way you know that it's going back in the right way. I did not do that, and tried both ways. The long leg in the plastic housing made the most sense, and I believe that is the correct orientation. - Jeff Little, Sales Manager, Boonedox USA

    Saw this on todays video, and went looking for a more detailed video and found this one. You just sold at least one of these, maybe 2, I have to go sit in the Ride and think about layout. Good place for me to mount a Bullwinkle so trees don't pull my rods out of the other rod holders on the creek. Lost 2 rods in flush mounts after the hurricane in 2019, IIRC. Was on Swatara shooting chutes in dams and getting swept under trees. Had to cut a rod leash on one to save myself from going over. Been wanting a Bullwinkle ever since so I could rods more horizontal in the middle instead of sticking up like flagpoles. Couldn't figure out how to do the layout but this looks pretty good.
