Why no longer video, how did she do, what was the progression. to short for such a serious descision
This was Awesome. I'm going for this type of surgery and will be asking my Doctor about the TOPS™ system to see if I'm a candidate for this procedure. I found out about this as I was researching alternatives to lumbar fusion. So I'm praying that this works out for me. Mark
You don't need this procedure if u have facet joint pain...…their is no long term data on this as its new? and I am sure like other devices it can fail. You just need a procedure called "Microscope rhizotomy" to cut the nerves at the facet joint that's sending pain signals to your brain, they will NOT grow back as long as the surgeon cuts the nerves correctly, its permanent the nerves cant regrow and attach itself together. Normally they offer a procedure what you said in the video called "Ablation" were they go in with Heat and BURN the nerves, but eventually they recovery and then start to send pain signals to your brain. You should always try not to put hardware in your body as your changing the biomechanics of your spine.

So this doesn't work for everyone? I have a failed discectomy in 2012, getting older and looking for some relief of 5 Herniated discs. I see there is a big hollow middle part of the disc area that is removed, that looks scary 😢

This is all bs. I have been to two surgeons now. One said their hospital wouldn’t allow the surgery but I would be a good candidate. The second surgeon said my slippage isn’t enough even though I went from a small instability spondylolidthesis with mild stenosis to spondy with no movement at the original level but now above and I have severe stenosis. This is all crap just to lure people in for fusions because no private insurance covers the TOPS. Only Medicare or Medicaid people can have this. Also this company refuses to tell you which insurance covers the device because none will pay for it.
No one wants to lure you in for a fusion. To the contrary, we'd be happy to assist you in advocating for your right to a TOPS motion procedure. Please provide your contact details to ronsacher@premiaspine.com and we will support you in trying to overturn your insurance disapproval.

Not letting a hole there with a metallic prosthesis is far better than nothing, but the prosthesis should have a metallic "tooth" to protect the polycarbonate piece against an accidental touch.
i was about to have a spinal stimulator put in my back, but a web page popped up telling me about the TOPS, i am going to talk to the doc tomorrow about having this done and forget the stimulator.

I had this surgery 3 1/2 years ago and it changed my life. I was on a downward spiral of chronic back pain at 70 yrs old. I have always been active and was not looking forward to limited activity nor the idea of spinal fusion. I had the surgery done as a clinical study and could not be happier. The procedure is now FDA approved. If your doctor says that you may be a candidate, please do your homework and investigate the TOPS procedure. You will not regret it.
I am looking at fusion I have two artificial disc in my neck with one fusion inbetween them and have had back pain for over 10 years I asked about a artificial disk told me 60 was cut off for that WTH really Im 62 and been doctoring for a decade UGHHHHHHHHHH any one have information containing to this I would love to have some :P

10 weeks out from fusion and 8 screws and rods L2-S1,4th back surgery! This recovery is a challenge,cut me like a spring lamb. SIATIC nerve complications need to be worked out.Hopefully baby steps to a tolerable recovery!
