Blanck Mortuary
США
Добавлен 19 янв 2020
Blanck Mortuary is a small yard haunt display in central Texas. The theme is a small cemetery where the creators of Disney's Haunted mansion were laid to rest. These videos are from Halloween displays or how I built my props. New for this season a small walk-thru haunted house will be added.

FOAM STONES AND UPGRADES

Making progress on upgrading to full foam tombstones. Also thinking about what I would like to accomplish this year and asking for a handout to help me make the haunt move forward.
BLANCK MORTUARY FOAM HEADSTONES

My small headstone repair and full conversion to foam. My headstones are all hybrids of wood and foam. After years and years of repairs on the small ones, I removed the foam and will now install them on all full foam bodies.

BLANCK MORTUARY IS BACK

Well after hauling stuff out of the attic. Going through multiple bins and reorganizing. I also found props I had only used once. So with all of this activity, I started feeling regretful about parting with my precious.

Blanck mortuary rebuilding through the years
The “RIP” on foam headstones is what annoys me. Next year I plan to try sanding down the “decoration” on some cheap ones and repaint to look less silly.
Your tombstones look great! What is the sound system you use outside? Your sound is fantastic! It looks like y'all had a blast
Thanks on the tombstones. The soundsystem is just a Dell PC set with subwoofer. I made my soundtrack using Audacity. It was a great first year with a walk through haunt.
@BlanckMortuary Oh, awesome! 1st year! WELCOME to the Home Haunters Club 😂 Its a weird, crazy addiction. This was our 5th year and still just as crazy and obsessed with it 🤪
@@spookedonspurlock Not first haunt. I had walk thrus from 98 to 03. Just first in about 21 years.
Looks great! Have you already started planning for 2025?? Us home haunters' work is never done 😂
I wish I had the mechanical knowledge to make these kinds of projects. I love them all. Great job!
There are definitely others who have more details about how they built their props. Leering Larry and the digging skeleton/shovel you can search RUclips. Breathing grave as well. The grave slab lid I looked at the one Raven Manor built. Van Oaks props has many many videos on how to that might help.
I love your listening to Ghost!
nahh it needs clothes and hair if it’s facing the guests lol
She has a wig this year.
Wow, that is a lot of stuff and ambitious! I also like to see model railroads...

Great idea thanks for your posting
I don’t wanna be a major bummer, but shouldn’t the sign read from Dawn till 10 PM
No, the hours pertain to traditional trick-or-treating hours. I don't want people at my house at dawn
@@BlanckMortuary 👍
Had the same issue with standing up the tombstones. Use green bamboo poles, thin, come in a bag, poke a hole in the bottom of the tombstone and stick them in. Carve a pointy edge on the ground side or pound them into the grass and slide the opening down on them.
I have about 50 2-foot-long #3 & 4 rebar to use, so there is no shortage of that. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Your channel came up in recommended today probably since I’ve been watching Halloween DIY. Nice technique on the tombstones. Was even more taken aback by your name….there aren’t very many of us Blanck’s around. I live in Chicago area. My grandpa Lee Blanck is from Lansing IL and passed away in the early 80’s as an octogenarian. Any relation? Any relatives from Chicago area?
Sorry no. My family emigrated from Bavaria to New York mid 1800's. From there to Kansas, Utah, and then Texas. I don't know of anyone from your area that is family.
Ooh ghost playing in the background
Big Ghost fan. Went to Ritual last year with my youngest. Amazing show!
@@BlanckMortuary never seen them live , been asked to go a few times never got around to going lol, my mates a big fan got me into them. liked your prop you made , i mostly make wooden stuff.
Zip tie a thin metal rod from the elbow to the fingers curl the fingers and the rod at the fingers and hang your lantern..just make sure your lantern is all plastic otherwise Larry won't lear
Thanks, but I am going to stick with the candle.
Jesus he knows me...
I am your 700th sub!
Thanks!!
I was half asleep when I read the title to your video and I thought it said peeping window prop lol.
Don't they have something like that? Is it a Head or face that suction cups to the outside of a window? I can't remember where I have seen those.
@@BlanckMortuarythere is. a bunch of stores make them
I want to subscribe, but you're at 666 subscribers, I can't ruin it!
I am at 682 now. I am very surprised at how I have expanded this year. I am not much into production for my videos. My youngest says my videos are nice because they are just raw and unedited.
You could put a long white wig on it and that would hide the front too. I put wigs on my heads.
That is a good idea! Thanks
my first taste of peter cushing would have been from the tales from the crypt film where he's Arthur Grimmsdyke.
You never know when or where you can pick up good tips or ideas... Doesn't need to be a fancy tutorial, just from the cold dead Halloween loving heart. 😅😅😅😅😅 And many prefer the garage crafted haunt and sharing secrets and tips. Like the best way to glue foam to foam, is with great stuff. And that pool noodles can be used for tons of things. And EVA foam sheets will curve with heat and can be painted to look like metal, but stay light weight, and reindeer motors bring lots of things to life.... 😊 Your Sam looks GREAT.
Thanks
Great Stuff - looking forward to seeing more
Thanks
Love ghost in the bg haha
Great looking display! Your sound scaping is fantastic and completely adds another dimension to your production. Love this!
Thanks!
Glad to hear you are back at it! I completely feel the sickness and much like Brokeback Mountain,..I can't quit Haunting lol, it's on my mind year round and I manage to find something Haunt related 365. Your passion enriches your community and the screams, laughs, and memories are more addicting than Crack cocaine lol. Can't wait to see what you have put together for this year!
Thanks. Unfortunately, I am just repairing old tombstones. No extra funds for new props.
These are great! I need to add something new this year so this is inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
You are very welcome!
Always feels good to redo an upgrade some thing and bring things to the next level
I think the small effort to standardize your spacing will pay you back many times over. All you really need is a stick with two marks on it, or you can get fancy and drill guide holes in a board. Then when you're setting up you can just give someone a hammer, the template, and a stack of rebar and turn them loose.
I will probably standardize the spacing on the rest. I don't have a team of people to help me set up.
At my age, I take injections of Bengay! I want to die in my haunt!
Happy Moments when you realize things actually work. We are hoarders in so many words lol. Go easy my friend.
I think you should just down size the haunt. Do something small and easily manageable.
Hallelujah this is fantastic news. I can hear it in your voice you are reinvigorated and you’re making plans to rework things and start new projects. we do tend to forget that there’s things that we need to do for ourselves to be able to do these things. there is no shame in asking for help. if your neighborhood is really excited about what you do, possibly someone would be interested in working with you. you are so correct in calling it a sickness. we dedicate ourselves to creating these displays, but there is no end to it. we never seem to get to the point where we’re satisfied with what we have done. There’s always this need to keep adding on. so happy that you will be continuing and wish you all the best. Happy Halloween. 🎃
Cool effect. I wondered how they did it!
Wow 2001!
Looks great man!!! The ambiance is perfect!!!

RUclips recommended this video to me randomly, and I am greatly enjoying this content. Very nice work : )
Thanks
To make it a little bit more like you see at Disneyland. It should be like a picture round oval shape in front of the figure..
I am all about folks donating so I can build the things they want to see.
Please sell em.
Sell what exactly? I bet the shipping would be off the charts as the cabinets are heavy.
@@BlanckMortuary well like, the busts themselves. Also I’m joking lol, I just think they’re awesome.
@@sealy1 in my video description I have a link to the guy who sells the individual busts. I checked and its still a good link to his ebay profile and he shows them as available.
@@BlanckMortuary oh, nice!
@@BlanckMortuaryLooks like he got shut down. Do you know of any other suppliers?
That's a great installment for a "Traces of Death" series. To add to that, my friend Liz is one of those types who brings out the whole neighborhood for events, and everyone pitches in helping her decorate. Every year for her Easter parade I always note the spots where the grass still hasn't grown back from the graves she and friends dug in her front yard for the Halloween party and to use for scaring trick-or-treaters. She earns extra money helping build film sets, so somehow she got in good with someone who owned one of those low-lying foggers that can cover the entire stage floor (e.g., like it's "Phantom of the Opera" or a Vegas magic show). She has the fogger hidden around the corner of her house with a couple dryer ducts coming out of it into the yard with large computer fans at the end of each. That blankets the entire yard, so no one knows they're walking past an open grave until one of her zombies (i.e., friends in costume) jumps up. I wish she'd get video and put it up for all to see. Her yard is awesome for Halloween and Xmas (She was on the "Great Light Fight" one year).
There is or was now a haunted house that had an underground path system to get to open graves in their cemetery. They are relocating so I imagine that feature will go away.
That is so funny
