One of the things I love most about nightscape photography is the solitude whilst out in the landscape, under the stars at night. Traditionally the Summer months aren't a good time to shoot the Milky Way in the UK. It never gets truly dark, and the stars are only visible for a few precious hours from very late in the evening. Excellent video and images Paul. I feared you might go 'A over T' on those rocks, looked a bit dodgy! I was actually looking at the Sigma 24mm F1.4 at the weekend for my R6 (trying to get ready for the comet next month), if you're using it I guess it must be good!

    • @nightscapejournals
      @nightscapejournals 16 часов назад

      Thanks Pete - really appreciated. Yep, that was definitely nearly the outcome on those rocks! I like the Sigma 24, and especially how wide it is. I've never been able to do a direct comparison with the equally wide (but considerably lighter and cheaper) Samyang 24 as my Samyang broke before I was able to. I suspect if you're just using it for astro, and so don't need AF, a good example of the Samyang would give the Sigma a run for its money. But of course we all know how Samyang quality control varies a lot!

      @@JauneMacReady it’s the Mini 4 Pro - amazing little bit of kit. Would love to upgrade to something with a better camera one day, but this serves me well for the odd bit of b-roll. 😊

      @@nightscapejournals Those DJI Mini drones are little powerhouses. Mine's the Mini3Pro. Does me fine. I'll probably wait for when they do the Mini 5 Pro and upgrade then. The sub 250g drones are so versatile - you can fly then pretty much anywhere (with a bit of common sense) 😃👍

      Yep it seems to be a bit of a theme at the moment! 🙄 But I agree - a visit to suss out a location is never in vane and I’ve got at least two other images (and probably 3) that I really want to make at this location in the Winter. So I’ll be back! Appreciate the support and encouragement, Pete.
