A friend of mine was told the same thing about the over saturation of the law profession in SA when he was applying for funding to study law. He decided to pursue law anyway and is now a prosecutor for the NPA. Yes, the profession may be highly competitive but there will always be space for those willing to be extraordinary.

@@oz-zy There is certainly a distinct "pecking order" in Mauritius. On 'top" the white colonials most from France, South Africa and in smaller numbers UK & other EU countries mixed with mostly successful rich asian establishment, professionals and those in major commerce. Then comes the Hindus who now dominate the country's commerce, pharmacies and higher levels of nursing. Finally, no surprise, the almost indigenous Creole community in the more meanial positions. In my opinion neither is very attracted or attached to each other. That is not to say there is some "fludity" and social movement nut the invisable ceilings & structures are mostly fixed for the time being. I have heard Mauritan creoles uttering racist comments towards the ever growing Hindu community.

​@@gordonspicercreoles are no indigenous. They are given the name creole for being mixed french-bantu or malagasy-mixed. Some indo-bantu mixed do identify them as creole too but in reality most creole are mixed with indo. Racism don't talk. Creoles get employment opportunities as anyone, and yet some have the audacity to be racist towards indo-Mauritians(hindu, muslim or chrisitian) or with sino-Mauritians. Its hypocrisy.

@@yash8703 surprisingly in such a multi racial country where people have mixed for centuries there is a hierachy and prejudice between the creeds. races there. Some of it is due to rivalry, unbalance of numbers and even high fertility rate of some groups. From my own limited observation there much stems from the very uneven distribution of income, welfare, job opportunities and of course education. Whether some of the problems are a "throw back" from French & British colonialism I am not sure. Certainly the gap between the rich and poor on the island is startling. This is something the moistly wealthy foreign tourists do not see or want to

@@MOKGATLAMSYZA-sx5gq That's an excellent question. If you work for a registered FSP, they will have indemnity insurance which covers this risk. As a financial advisor you are a representative of the FSP, therefore the advice you give is backed by the FSP. This is unless you give advice which is outside the scope of your license in which case you will be personally liable. Hope I have answered in a way that makes sense.

Great question. Yes, in almost all companies you are required to source your own clients. In some instances, some companies will provide leads. Watch from 43:21 where Andisiwe explains what it means to network in the context of a financial advisor. Without having reasonable competency in networking you'll battle to make it in the financial planning profession. You are given a reasonable time to close deals after having undergone training.
