Unleash Your Strength: Introducing the Monkee Grip Deadlift Challenge!
Interesting video. It stands to reason that the legume plants use the nitrogen in the nodules to feed themselves when they are making seeds, but in my experience, I've still seen plenty of the nodules on the roots if I've dug them up after fruiting. I think that possibly what has happened is that the plants have stored more nitrogen than they needed and so there's quite a bit left over when the plant has died.
Do you ship to Europe?
Yes I can ship to Europe but would ask my European friends to pay for the shipping. I believe the cost will be under $5 USD.
Can you tell me about allelopathy
Thanks for your comment. Allelopathy is a process where plants release chemicals into their environment that can inhibit or promote the growth of other plants nearby. I'll make an entire video explaining it.
We grew 5-foot-tall marigolds this year in Idaho! They saved our crops!!
Wow, that’s fantastic to hear! Thanks for sharing. I've always wanted to visit Idaho. You’re in such a beautiful part of the country!
Thanks for the content, Andrew!
Rachel! You're very welcome, and thank you for tuning in. I appreciate your kind words. Hope to see you in the comments more often. Don't be a stranger!
Marigolds were very helpful for my garden this year. The bees really loved them too!
There's another aspect to this: legumes don't fix nitrogen as long as there is enough plant-available soil nitrogen. Feeding the bacteria sugar is a cost to the plant, which it doesn't pay unless it has to. The "myth" re: legumes and nitrogen largely dates to the old practice of "green manuring," in which legumes were grown and plowed under so that any nitrogen fixed was returned to the soil.
Now I just need a plant to control Japanese stink bugs. They took 2/3 of my tomato crop this year.
I hear you on those Japanese stink bugs... they’re ruthless! Losing 2/3 of your tomato crop must’ve been frustrating. One plant that could help naturally is trap crops like sunflowers or sorghum-they tend to attract stink bugs, drawing them away from your tomatoes. Companion planting with marigolds and basil may help repel stink bugs too though. You could also try introducing natural predators like parasitic wasps to your garden. If all that fails you could resort to netting. Stay strong! With the right strategy, you’ll have those stink bugs under control and your tomato crop thriving again!
Jsyk, limonene is pronounced, “lee-muh-neen”.
Thanks for commenting Dolly, I like that pronunciation. I hope to see you in the comments again.
I'm quite sure white flies attack citrus trees too 😂
Citrus trees do emit limonene, but the quantity of limonene they release into the air is generally much lower compared to marigolds. Marigolds emit significant amounts of limonene and other volatile organic compounds, which contribute to their pest-repellent properties unlike citrus trees.
I grew cracker jack variery this summer. It grew 4 feet tall and this stuff stinks it's aweful but beautiful yellow and orange flowers.
Thank you!!
What an interesting eye-opening video. Slight criticism for you (to help), you should’ve inserted some images to the video of what you were talking about when you were describing everything. However, I was able to picture it and I really appreciate all the information. I’m am planning to build a garden soon for planting the spring and I’m definitely gonna add some marigolds because that’s awesome. Thank you
This is an excellent comment, kind and helpful. Thank you for watching and for reaching out to me. I will try to include more images and animations in future videos to help illustrate that point. Good luck on your garden. Are you starting from lawn? The best time to begin is now.
Used a lemon to describe limonade
within the first minute you misspell "merigold"
I misspelled it in the cover too. spelling never was a strength of mine, but you didn't come here for that did you?
@jonasaur6462 was this comment really worth your time?
It's a gardening site , not a spelling bee.
@@LowEffortGardening Hard to take a scientific thesis seriously when the main subject of the thesis is misspelled. Maybe you could change your name to NoEffortContent.

Herb blubbers 😂😂
Haha a phrase I never thought I'd use
this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The nitrate ions are released from the roots when the plant dies and used by the following crop. Yes the harvest takes some but not all the nitrogen away. growing broccoli at the same time is a misleading experiment.
Rude but I'm glad you watched, and hope to get more of your feedback on my other videos.
very nice video
Thank you Rifat!
Mike hoag already did this more easly by planting guild & to prevent use a fortress plant. & thank for the info about the Nitrogen fixer, this a payback for the info
Thanks Muhammed. I read his article and will try walling off a section of my garden with red veined sorrel.
sowing machine ah yes it plants seeds for you lol.
So then peanuts don’t add nitrogen to the soil because you pull them up to get the nuts? Does that make them nitrogen neutral, like cowpeas?
There are many variables, but peanut plants may still leave some nitrogen behind even after being pulled. But, if the goal is to add nitrogen to the soil, it’s more effective to cut the plants at the base and leave the roots intact.
I really like all the data u supplied🙌🏻🙌🏻💯🤘🏻🔥
I'm very happy that you found it helpful.
Hello
Hey friend
Straight to the point and clearly explained. Thank you 🙏😊
WHAT THE HELL IS A "SOWING" MACHINE??????????????????????????????????
That would be a typo sky.
Amazing
Thank you Rif
❤❤❤❤❤
I appreciate that you are determined to explain the science behind it
Thanks for appreciating it and for reaching out in the comments. My goal with this video wasn't just to tell, but to teach gardeners why nitrogen gets fixed in the soil. I believe that by showing how and why things work, it becomes everyday, walk around knowledge that we can use to grow with less inputs.
This RUclips chanel is one of the agriculture gem
@@MuhammedIzuddin this is very kind of you!
Sorry, there are plenty of simpler and quicker popcorn tek out there. I'm not sure why he thinks you have to pasteurize food grade popcorn. A simple room temp soak from 12 to 24 hours. Simmer from 30 mins to an hour using the squish vs. bite check. Put in jars and PC for 90 minutes. Shroomery has a great recipe under popcorn tek. Shrooms are about KISS. Don't make it harder than you have to!
I appreciate you watching the video. Do what you think works and if that fails come back and try this.
??Hello , sir I have also experience the same thing . Sir my hibiscus plant's soil is a little more clayey . Will it be helpful to my flower (adding compost mulch ) one more thing Sir my soil very deficient in iron what to do ?? Sir please suggest an organic solution . Happy gardening 😊
Absolutely had about 4 inches of compost and keep me posted!
Okay , I will do the same definitely . Thank you sir . Happy gardening .
Other criticism of specifics has already been added, but I feel something that may have been skipped over is, based on your graphics I'm not sure you've ever seen a melon. I recommend trying one. They're an incredibly refreshing treat on a hot day. EDIT: Thought I was gonna be funny halfway through the video. No, you actually meant broccoli, and melon is some broccoli related terminology I'm unfamiliar with.
Lol please find criticisms in my other videos
The Bacteria, are the shoppers, the customers; not the vendors. They have currency, which is ammonia, which they will use to to buy supplies, sugars, amino acids, lipids(?), whatever they demand, the plant will do its best to provide. The vendors are the ones who provide the infrastructure.
That's one way to look at it! The important part is that you have grasped the concept. Thanks for watching and for joining in the comments. I hope to receive more of your feedback for other videos
Great video, thanks. I'm curious to know what your temperatures are doing during the su,mer and fall.
Thank you, I live in South East Massachusetts. Summers in here are hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from the low 70s to mid-80s. Occasionally, it can reach the 90s, especially in July and August. This year it felt like most days were over 90 but this is uncommon. Humidity always makes it feel warmer and sticky. Fall brings cooler temperatures and colorful trees. 50s overnight and 70s during the day In September, it's still mild, but by October and November, day time highs drop into the 50s and 40s. The air becomes crisp, and rain is more frequent as winter approaches.
Talking about how cold effects flavor is such a great point! Wouldn't usually think of that; but it matters. 🌱
Thanks mike! I'm glad you found that point interesting. Temperature can have a surprising impact on how we experience flavors, and it's something that often gets overlooked. I appreciate you noticing!

Nice sharing Sir , love from India 😊
The venders are bacteria.
That's certainly one way to look at it! The important thing is that you understand what's happening.
Parts were severely oversimplified. Example, it's true they use a lot of nitrogen to fruit, they can't just use up all the nitrogen. Besides details like that, really nice video! Another scenario where not much fixation happens is when there's already sufficient nitrogen available.
Thank you for the compliment and critique. Instead of making a video to help students pass a test, my goal for was to introduce the concept to gardeners.
This guy talks too slow
