U need to filter out the low end, for us to hear it
I will keep that in mind for future videos. Still learning video editing!
Great info. i'm going to look at mine this afternoon. thanks!!!
My dream car right there!!
Fix the motor stop . God young people lack intelligence
Never fear! That engine is just fine, just had an exhaust gasket blow out on the back drivers side!
Original engine?
Yup! 170,xxx on the stock bottom end and heads. It burns oil like you wouldn't believe!
That sounds awesome!
yesterday i drive my bmw 550i xdrive i heard a humming noise when i came home there was smoke underneath the car smell like something burning i am not sure if it's the diiferential or the axel we will take it to the mechanic tomorrow morning so they can tell us what is it.
Hopefully nothing too expensive!
do you know the bolt size
Which one? And head size or bolt and thread pitch?
@@GasketCase2024 thread size put mine down and can't find them
@@rosiegary If I don't get back to you soon, which is very likely, I always use a tap and die set to find what thread pitch a bolt is.
Did you drill out the small hole in the plastic?
Assuming you are referring to the hole in which you release the pin, no, I did not drill the hole. It is there on purpose to release the lock cylinder.
I have a 2006 Chevrolet express 3500 with the 4.8 liter v8 I replaced the fuel pump and the sound went away Another common issue is the under carriage knocking
I note you didn't put the cage back on. If the joint fails, no steering.
That is a very good catch, I was in the mind set that that is what those smooth pins are for. But those are useless if that cage isn't keeping the steering shaft centered enough. I will make a follow up video of me reinstalling that cage! eventually....
Boyyyy hell nawh
Is it a 4 bolt main ?
It is a 2 bolt main.
Thank you so much man!
You can from under.. bottom of the manifold
Correct! Maybe you could also use a mirror. I didn't think to try it.
Hey I bout a key cylinder for my licoln mark v but the cylinder don't slide in any suggestions
Maybe some penetrating oil around the cylinder? I have never had one not slide right out.
Hey man I just had this problem with my 2 T-Birds the other week! Thank you so much Do you know where the engine number would be present on the 351 M model?
Are you referring to the block casting number? If so it is on the right side of the block near the bell housing right underneath where the cylinder head.
@@GasketCase2024 is it visible without taking the engine out?
@@antoinepmader Sorry for the late reply. The answer is yes, you can see it without taking the engine out. Either crawl underneath, or get a mirror. I tried it with three different Ford 400's, and one had headers and I could see all of them. Here is a link to a short I made about it. ruclips.net/user/shorts_ZJI_d9gEWQ
i was able to drill out the rotten screws and just install it with bigger ones. had it done in a little over an hour just fucking around with it. call me lucky
Great video no cap
We should save these birds, not to destroy them.
I agree, but it's out of my hands. That's why I at least try to part them out. Wiper switches, headlight switches and brake boosters are hot items!
What has the windshield wiper got to do with the damn latch?
What’s your replacing the same as the latch?
screw that I’m a 72-year-old woman ain’t no way I can do that.
How do you know if you just need the buttons or if you need the latch when you do my buttons on the outside nothing happens it won’t open. You can go inside and push the button on the inside and it will open.
Awesome. Just bought a 2 door 77 LTD and its the same setup.
if you can't trust your test equipment, it is less than worthless
Very informative. Should be an easy job, BUT very time consuming. I did take apart everything. One problem was the OEM assembly the includes the lic. lights. The self tapping screws they zip in during building were absolutely rusted. I used my dremel to cut off the backside of the bracket smooth (where the screws seeded) so I could use small nuts, bolts and washers to attach the button.
Thanks! I get tired of waiting 30 minutes to talk to a msd tech! And then they don’t know what you’re talking about! There is nothing on wiring different things in, I still don’t have a speedometer!
If you have an automatic prepare for pain. The transmission cooler lines are totally in the way
Not on this car, however they are brighter than my other bird that does have led's
oh wait a minute i have power tools oh god
i dont think those shorts are osha certified lol
you dont need hearing lol
my van did that lol
Nice lol good job
Chuckles* "I'm in danger"
Nice, thank you!
When a car holds first gear until 55 it's geared thru the ceiling. You don't have to be a genius to figure that out.. if you need to race street light to street light, get a different car.
It has 2.5:1 rear gear. Pretty sad!
the needle was moving pretty good for a old school
Yeah but it's sweet
ya don't always have to be fast to have class under your ass!
I have never heard that before, and it's my new favorite line!😂
Looks like the ‘77 Tbird I had in high school.
'79 Granada?
It is a 77 bird. Probably should add that to the title!
glad you like the saying, I always said that about my classic vehicles.@@GasketCase2024

Let me know if you ever want to sell that car. I have the automatic version, wish I had the manual version
lol If my current buyer falls through I'll let you know. I don't want to sell it, but having 8 cars is ridiculous!
I have a 2004 3.9 manual with 195k still going strong. Take care of them and they keep going.
Thanks for posting this video I'm sure it's a real pain. Planning on doing this job to a all original low mileage 76 Gran Torino which is virtually the same car I don't want to remove the column if not necessary and you prove that so thanks for posting this.😁👍
Classic doesn't mean clunker. If you care about your car so much, fix it. Don't blame the passenger for using the door as intended. Only malaise-era american cars have this problem anyway.
back off he is trying to help
as a kid from those times you just learn these things
do you know what cam? also is this a 400 fmx block? sounds amazing!
Thanks! The cam is Erson cams Part #: E220121 Grind #: TQ 20 H - Hydraulic flat tappet, lift is 0.517 intake & exhaust, duration is 292 intake & exhaust. - Lift @ 0.050 is 0.299 Intake & Exhaust - Duration @ 0.050 is 214 Intake & Exhaust - Normally I would just comment the link, but the website is currently going through an upgrade.
And the Engine is a 400. The fmx is a transmission used behind some 400's depending on application. This car has a c6 trans.
@missionunfixable9066 cool! prob best sounding 400 i have heard! thanks for that info and I was referring to the rare 400 block cast with both the big and small block patterns and drilled for small block used with the fmx. dubbed the "400fmx" I was just curious because it was only offered in 1973 and only in wagons as far as anyone knows. Thanks for the reply!
@@amcrenegade6782 I forgot about those. I have pulled several 400's over the years, including this one when I was in College. I don't remember anything weird about the bolt pattern though.
bro thank you that just broke on my 79 t bird today
Hi brother. Do you know of the correct color of that tbird yellow? Where can I get a touch up can? Love your videos would love to talk to you. Doing a build of my own here Erie pa. 1977 38,000 on here. Same brown but bench seat. Changed rear end gears like u. C-4 rebuilt heavy clutches and shift kit. Keep rocking bird vids. Peace brother
Hey, I do have the color code, just don't know what ford called it. "6PYV" is the code on the door jam, and the title just says cream. I think certain Arnolds, and Oreillys will mix paint, but I have yet to paint anything that wasn't a hack job, so I don't know the best place to get it.
