Beautiful car. Have the body mounts ever been changed? That bang / knock at the one minute mark sure sounds like my 79 coupe did . Took me about 6 months of trial and error to figure it out. Regardless the car is just gorgeous.

Owned one! Great 2 Dr. Hardtop car. White top with emerald green interior. Quirk: right hand turn on cambered road the driver's door would suddenly unlatch and start to open up. No amount of shimming could stop this annoying habit. Overall, just loved this car. Great engine and nice rumble with glass pack mufflers.

that dash board sure looks familiar..My first car was a 57 Chevy two door poster. 283 V8 with a .60 bore,headman headers, Duntov Cam, and two four barrels. I had installed a Chevy truck three speed, top shifter, and with that 4.11 rear end, I stayed with any thing for the fist 500 feet. of a street race. Painted Rio Orange, Black tuck and Roll, 7 inch chrome reversed wheels, and 18 inch glass packs. You could hear me coming for two Blocks,,,,, I still have dreams I'm driving it!... Go Big red!

That's nice. I just inherited a 1979 El Camino from my dad and I need to replace both side mirrors. Do you know how to access the housing in order to remove the mirrors? It looks like I might have to remove the inner door panel but I'm not sure. Thanks.

One of my favorite GM body styles....I had a 72 Supreme, a buddy had a 71 SX 455 like this but Viking Blue and white seats and dual gate shifter. His had 455 2 barrel but was very strong. It was faster than most of the cars on the road -too bad he messed up that car driving drunk..

I test drove a brand new '78 Elky in the same shade of green . 200 inch V6 , three on the floor , very very doggy . I passed on it .
