……that’s what people forget when they enter, eg a flooded roadway, that water is VERY powerful, & dangerous. Water, in the form of the Colorado River, carved the Grand Canyon over millenia………
Seems silly to allow all this rubble to flood the road. Wondering why the road builders didn’t include a runoff shed to cover the roadway so the rubble flow over the road and down into the valley below.
Unfortunately we were not entitled to “see” what was down hill from the runoff whether it be a village, farms or valley. In my area road builders constructed several “snow sheds” over the roadway in mountainous sections so snow from avalanches in winter time didn’t block the highway and impede traffic. Similar concept used for rail lines in mountainous areas too.
Hello philippe savin, is it possible to contact you regarding this video (i.e. via email)? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible to discuss? :) Cheers, Felix

That's a terrible location for a road.
Solution. Suspension. Saltation. Traction. 🎉
Impressive how these large boulders are easily transported by water in the debris flow.

Crew standing back: “We’re gonna need a bigger barrier.” 😮
Seems to have spilled over onto the road a wee bit there.
It ended right before the good part lol
The power of gravity and water.
OMG
On the plus side thats all free stone that can be used everywhere and money can be made from it. Mother nature is good

It's just a semi-circular tunnel that pass under the stream.
Dustpan and brush time

it's a shame that you're not in charge

Since there are earth movers ready, I take it this was expected?
Road guys are like I’m not cleaning this up

One step forward, two steps back.
Since the video is over eight years old I’m wondering what became of Philippe Savin
Quand l eau passe tout casse..
Common mistakes when recoding is they zoom in too much
Perhaps you think he should stand closer :-)
Looks like a river of concrete.
Are you filling tunnels or natural waterflowing filling them at this time??????🤔🤔🤔🤔
Contractors are rubbing hands together thinking ,look at all that work and money coming down the hillside
Another flow was approaching when the video ended.
Horrible camera work swaying nonstop
What are the tunnels for?
water
That's a gold mine!!! Natural rock for landscaping and home building!!
Don't even have to bring it down the mountain!
Yeah looks to me that the photographer would have been in the line of fire for the next debris flow..... But that just my layman's perspective.

Exactly, why the heck did you stop the video just before the deluge was coming?
Since the guy is sitting nearly right on it's path, I assume he's fearing for his own safety.

Why on God's green Earth would you put a road and guard rail there?
What did I watch right there, Who designed that , and placed a road right at the end of it?
That's exactly what I was thinking.
The road is in the tunnel which protects it from avalanches or land slides
