Much appreciated info and great straight forward video 🎉
Just bought one of these. The four holes are air inlet holes, otherwise there would be a vacuum when the exhaust motor is running.
Would have preferred to hear more from the Makertech's founder.. too much interruption from the host. Hopefully there will be another review where that happens :-(
So at 23:35 you increase the layer time for max fan speed threshold, but that isn't used as a minimal layer time unless you also check the "Slow printing down for better layer cooling". Without that checked if just changes the part fan speed based on estimated layer time, but since both min and max fan speed are at 100%, it doesn't have any effect at all.
This helped me massively. I couldn't get the thing to work, even pressing the buttons. But thanks to just a small adjustment (holding it down while I clicked on the download) made it work. You just saved my life.
Worried about mine. Soon as I saw the package weight was 50lbs.. package delivery ppl love to beat the hell out of stuff that isn’t theirs.
Is there any support for these machines ? my wife's boss bought one and it don't work at all ????
I got excited when I found this video. When I saw the results, I was relieved I won't be spending $80 AUD. Barely any difference from stock duct.
Thank you very much!
thanks for the video friend, this really helped me a lot
how to extrude?
Is it that heavy you look like you’re dying by pulling it out
With AMS it's pretty heavy. Maybe I'm a bit exaggerative :)
Despite all wonderful and positive reviews on youtube. This printer is fucking shit: the setup is not as easy as claimed by all reviewers: the QR code wich appears in the setup isn’t working. The actual one is hidden in the menu of the display. The AMS setup wasn’t working according to the manual or videos. And from bambulab you can expect absolutely no support. It’s probably just a letterbox company. I can’t even return the printer, because nobody responds. I bought it, because I’m a beginner and wanted an easy start, but the opposite is absolutely the truth. Therefore Istrongly recommend not to buy this printer.
Can someone please link the extended nozzle wiper?
Or better say the shortened one.
How good is to exhaustout the gasses
WHAT THE F...........
they have switched to a super adhesive lol. I had to break it off using a pick
I wonder how this compares to the Biqu (BTT) Panda Jet?
Thought this was like an early version of it. I ordered the BTT BQ one.
u got that " tape" oh the sides machine to make less noise? it works?
No it was to help keep in the heat. It's not super efficient lol
Great video but to much complaining. You want a good print but you dont want to let the machine do it. Typical PUNK TEENAGER.
I think I have a tiny piece stuck in my in feeder (gray part). My light is solid white and I can't put anything in the entry. Any idea how to unclog it?
I’m sea sick now
Super cool! Definitely going to be modding my elegoo enclosure, the air exhaust on top would be better for the door function but the extra shelf storage is a big plus for us small space makers. Sitting at 6 printers fdm and resin and the phecda I still need to set up. Around 20 drones, pc rig, and workspace for that and resin post processing, space is tight. Love this "wall" idea since i've expanded up my walls as well lol
Did you heat up the Allen key ? Ty
In this case I did. But sometimes you can just hear the hotend, turn off the printer and use pliers to remove the filament.
18:10 dude never wiggle by hand that hard your print head!!! Jesus Christ....
😬😬😬
Thanks your brother. I've been trying for 1 hour
Thank you for testing - although I would have hoped for an overall comparison (e.g., via a chart) by the end of your video. :)
Ok next similar vid I'll use charts
Thank you. I recently started getting clogs in my extruder when using the holographic plate. Turns out, when changing from the texturized plate to the smooth/high temp plate, the chamber heats more as a result of the higher bed temp and the filament in the extruder softens enough to bend and clog. I refuse to open the doors in my X1C so I wondered if this duct design may have a positive effect on extruder cooling. Although it may actually not as it looks like it introduces a bit more of resistance.
Oh I have been there. Clogs when the door is closed. Yes the duct may help. But if you closed the door more for noise reduction and/or avoid drafts, then you can just increase the rear exhaust fan to cool the chamber. If you don't know, its in the Filament's Advanced section under M106. At certain temps you can adjust the exhaust in the "S" parameter.
@@3dlootlab thank you. I will up that fan for PLA; good tip. I recently installed the bento box v2 and then installed with a temperature probe/trigger to start/stop it, so it also turns on an recirculates air above a certain temperature. I know it mixes the air and evens out the temperature; my best guess is this will also help as it should reduce the temp gradient from the bed. A review of the bento box (or similar) would be cool, because somehow there isn't much of it in videos about that theme.
I don't recall Elegoo making any OD claims on the windows, it was brought up numerous times during the campaign and they along with most commentors said wear your glasses at all times when the laser is on. The glasses in the box also have no OD rating or any safety marks so I bought my own Phillips-Safety laser glasses with OD6+ 100-600 and 7+ in the range 455nm range and the lenses are marked up to this effect... expensive though but better that than damage your eyesight imo. Even though the diode laser is in the visible range your blink response isn't quick enough. Glasses are not 100% they just help and the higher the OD in the laser range the better and as you found out those large windows don't do much. Personally I'd have worn my laser safety glasses and used the camera to look for laser shine paths. Like your thinking on your setup but all that window real estate is now pointing outwards so maybe cover a fair bit of it up?.. I also think you need to consider in-bleed air and flow. The standard enclosure has in-bleed eyelets front LHS and fan extraction at rear RHS to get air flow front to back in the enclosure for his reason.
Thanks for the info. I wish I had known from the campaign. I was first going off the original description on their website used to say it would "shield" your eyes from harmful lasers for clear line of sight. I am very laser engraver illiterate and many getting the Phecda may be as well. That's a good idea to use the camera for laser shine paths. Made the video content a while ago. I decided to switch to an xTool S1 (which remains boxed...). Before that, I ended up putting cardboard flaps over Phecda's enclosure windows so no laser light will get out.
Still waiting for the fast printing settings.
Thanks for the reminder. I had moved on to other projects. I'll get this one going! I have CHT nozzles I can also try as well.
This is the one. I had to push through while turning the gear in the 4-1 feeder part. Small piece was stuck and nothing would feed. Thanks!
thx for review
No problem!
Pretty bold of the Kokoni team to show up
Just got this one after your vid. Overhangs are important for me without support, so I'm highly expectant. Just with they included the manual in the box instead of a flash drive
Hope you find it works well. I found limited improvement except with ABS. But every brand is different.
@@3dlootlab yeah, I mainly print with sunlu pla+ with occasional petg, tpu and asa. I think there were some improvements already, because a model printed with just a few artifacts and with very limited support that wouldn't work normally in my experience
@@SneakyJoeRu Thats Great! The second wiper that came with the duct has broken for me. Its not robust. Heres a quick tip, take the stock wiper, heat it up and physically squish it to size. Its working like a charm now!
wish I saw this video before purchasing this upgrade...too late to refund it now lol
So Sad, the shipping to Germany is 28 Euro 🙄
Thank youuuu!!! Havent gotten into the video yet, but absolutely no ones really documented or covered the 3d printing booth, theres only like two 5 second clips out there!! Cant wait to see whats in store here and hope to see whats going on with the 3dpens at ces this year as well as the sculptures i believe i had seen presented
too bad you didn't go a few years or so ago. 3d printing was massive. probably 25% of that top floor.
Ha really, that is interesting. I guess the novelty has died down somewhat. It's all about AI now.
@@3dlootlabyes, CES is ever changing, shifting and evolving to whatever businesses want to be there. there was a time when car audio was literally the entire floor that 3d printing was on. downstairs was the adult video section, which was part of ces. prior to E3, video games had a huge part. this was the first year there wasn’t a section for cell phone case companies. it’s crazy how fast things change at that show
@@coasterlvr 🤣
I knew about materials but 3d printing wood?!!?!!!????!!
Thank you for finding a Creality spokesperson that can actually explain stuff about the K1C! I've been scouring youtube and twitter for K1C CES coverage and they mostly talk to people that don't know what is actually new about the K1C.
So good to hear someone found the interview helpful! I never really know. Duke was great to talk to. I could tell he was genuinely passionate and super approachable.
Makera really does look impressive. You should look into air exchange units for your house if tackling air quality.
Yes ventilation is the best solution. Right now I have a dual fan jury rigged into the door. Its perfect during summer, but not so much during winter.
the printers look so cool damn
So hard to see in portrait

I guess you're getting accustomed to your video glasses, as the darted movements can be jarring. There's so much to see! The rectangular pool of water caught my interest!
Correct. Also can't beat the quality of a regular phone and a gimbal. It's just very convenient to use. I start and stop clips seamlessly.
Hi, just two comments. First, slow the camera motion down a bit. You need to go 2 or 3 times as slow as you think you need. Second, I know RUclips wants these vertical phone view videos, they are horrible to watch. I've already subscribed twice to your channel because content looks good but ubsubscribed when I realized it was very painful to watch.
Hey thanks for the tips! I do appreciate it. Right, ok next time I will convert the aspect ratio for RUclips.
Hey just uploaded another same walk around but desktop RUclips ratio
