Big Update N scale 3d resin printed Wellcar Ore Jenny and SD40 Kato shell. Made with TInkercad.

I should be laying my mainline but instead I fell down the 3d resin printer rabbit hole once again. I spent days in Tinkercad just tinkering away. The n scale wellcar is one of my favorite. Because wellcars are only produced starting 2006 the model train used market is non existent. Even new ones are hard to find and very expensive. So I came up with a better idea. I hope this video inspires yo...
Scenery update and 3d modeling paint job on the Bachman GP40 100+ trees scratch built N scale
Просмотров 973 года назад
Just a little bit of train hooning with a wonderful back drop of N scale scratch built trees blended with some cheap amazon trees. A little bit of scenery goes a long way. The GP40 that was resin 3d printed and hand painted, no decals, just freehand with a brush to ad a little bit of homemade love to the layout. The tanker cars that are strait black have also been modeled in TInkercad by myself...
N scale 3d resin printing a GP40-2 Bachmann Locomotive shell using Tinkercad and an Elegoo Mars
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
This is a proof of concept video that you can actually use a resin printer to replace broken or lost shells for N scale locomotives. Replacing these shells are harder and harder every year. It gives me great pleasure to breath new life into old trains. I hope you and your family are healthy and safe and wish everyone a fantastic day. Thanks for watching

I could put anything I want here and not a soul would ever see it. I could even talk about how much my spelling sucks. I couldn't spell my way out of school. Now I torture people on RUclips with it. New scene Minor Update Model railroad N scale layout. Before Ground Cover

Just testing the layout with new trees from amazon mixed with scratch built trees. The Walthers bridge has been wonderfully reliable far beyond anything i expected. The Model railroad is moving along wonderfully.
Walthers Operating Single-Track Railroad Bascule Bridge Kit build video
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.3 года назад
This is a long boring video but one I believe needs to be on RUclips as the bridge is crazy hard to build but beautiful once complete. This is a fantastic addition to any layout. These bridges where plentiful in the golden age of railroads (1950's) and Walthers does a very detailed version. The instructions could be more focused and accurate but we are the greatest hobby. We have the skills to ...
Silent Railroad's BIG UPDATE. N scale new bridges, new hills, new mainline. U shaped layout.

Ok the whole video i just get drunk and play with model trains. But the table does look awesome. Hope you enjoy the video i'm curious what everyone thinks about the bascule bridge. Its a converted Walthers HO scale bridge that has been double mainlined and thrown onto an N scale layout. I don't have all the other buildings up yet so perspective is difficult at the moment. I hope it not too out ...
To broke for Sculptamold, cheap solution for Model Railroad that won't break the budget.

Well its official Silent Railroad is in the poor house. I'd say we own the poor house but even that is being rented and the landlord isn't happy. All our money is tied up trying to get the main lines to connect. When your too broke for Sculptamold you know its bad. But fear not we have a quick and dirty solution. I'll even give you the whole thing away. Its shredded newspaper and plaster of par...
N scale Atlas connection update ITS TAKEN OVER.

Just a quick update on everything that has been going on. The main lines are going in. I keep acquiring new trains here and there. So far everything's going well but i'm desperate to get a loop in. Hopefully in a few weeks i can show it off to all of you. I have so many issues some i can't currently deal with. If the kato 6 wheel likes it it passes

Well as always at the Silent Railroad we do everything without pretending we know what we are talking about. We have a no blab guarantee. If you want someone that knows something you are in the wrong place maybe google the reading railroad. Seems rather dumb to: 1) Throw away the instructions, like you're a Master bridge builder, and 2) Pre-cut all pieces away from their sprues, as they have part numbers stamped on them that correspond to the instructions... But you don't need those numbers cuz you're a Master bridge builder, and you tossed the instructions away... You build all models by SHEER BRAIN POWER... BRILLIANT...

    Interesting, After recently installing Atlas code 80 turnouts on my layout I discovered they too had my older generation locos (70s-90s Graham Farish stock) dying outside the turnouts and just like you I assumed those flimsy switch blades were to blame! However after doing power checks with a multimeter I found they were conducting track voltage with no issue at all surprisingly, after close examination it seemed the issue was all the small plastic fixtures that go in-between the rails. Trains would collide (but not outright derail) with the small block that pushes the blades from side to side and the unsightly large plastic check rails that connect to the frog. I shaved the small block for the blades into a trapezoid like shape (allowing it still function but enough to clear way for the train wheels) and just cut off the check rails altogether! After all that I could run even my oldest N scale locos at very slow speeds over the points, very satisfying! Hope this helps anyone getting frustrated with those god awful Atlas switches.

    • @Lutain1337

      Now that is an amazing idea. I have issues with the railings even with ABS they need to be thicker to withstand use. They are also the weakest link. Brass would do wonders.

    Holy mackerel! Thanks a ton for this video, was asked to help assemble this kit in, particular the motor/electrics for a friend... Have not started yet, and SO glad I watched this first. if you dont mind dumb questions... What "DPDT switch" did you use to control this bridge? and as I understand it, this kit is 6v, but the set its going into is 12v, is that common?... whats the best way to step down to 6v?

    • @Lutain1337
      @Lutain1337 3 года назад

      i measured an n scale model with a mirometer for rough dimensions then guesstimated them into tinkercad then made adjustments after printing. Most models went threw at least 6 different versions before the final. I made alot of mistakes like railings being too thin or structural parts not strong enough. The detail can go beyond what you can practically see or paint. The next step is to use real life measurements from blueprints from websites like CP historical society. Google them they have more than u ever want.

Please upload a video tutorial on how you are creating in Tinkercad one of these models to help many and many modelers, like me, to have the chance to create our own models as well. A Video Tutorial would be very appreciated because is the best way to learn on the go how to model one of these beauties ! Thank you very much in advance and please keep on this path !. How did you do the wires

    • @Lutain1337
      @Lutain1337 3 года назад

      I used a multi meter to figure out which way the diode goes. The micro switch interupts the power. After that has happened the diode gives it power only one way. That way needs to be the way to unlock the micro switch. I used trial and error on both micro switches. I found the instructions confusing. As for the dual switch. Positive and negative go in. Middle no power. Up switch positive negativie. Down switch negative positive.
