    Hey! I brought my Volvo V60 D4 2.0 from '15 to a couple of mechanics after it started losing power at low RPMs suddenly while driving in hot weather, in hills/mountains for a few hundred km. I've checked Boost Charge Valves, cleaned MAP sensor, Boost sensor, visually checked hoses for leaks (I hear no difference). The readings I get seem alright/normal. Regardless of the gear, at low RPM I just see bad performance, like no horses are home. Above ~2.500 RPM I get all 181 horses released in one go. I got error codes, P2262, while a few more were present, I didn't see them. First mechanic immediately said "New low pressure turbo, aka new turbo, money plz" within 10 minutes with the computer on it - didn't even drive it. This guy said the other codes happened because of P2262. Second mechanic took it for a test drive, put the computer on it and said it could be the MAP sensor - after I explained it had been replaced, they said "MAF sensor then". These guys said P2262 could be triggered by the bad MAF. Is it normal that a bad MAF sensor will only and always affect the low RPMs? I think it's quite pricy and I would like to make sure before buying.

    • @autofixcentral
      @autofixcentral Месяц назад

      Have them check that there are no loose hoses, wiring, and that your turbo is working fine... Doesn't sound like a bad MAP sensor but your mechanics will be in better position to decide.

      @@autofixcentral Thank you for your response - I wish they would actually test and do more. I'm pushing them to, but I've talked to 3 different ones and all are like "ughff, tough one". Appear to be no loose hoses, nor wires. I'm not sure how to verify whether my turbo works. A mate suggested unplugging the battery and leave it for 10 mins, then connect it again and immediately drive. If it's a bad turbo, the problem would be there immediately, while if it's a bad sensor it would take a minute or so before the fault arises again. I have yet to try this tho

    A hot engine can also cause the oxygen sensor to give a trouble code and trigger the check Engine light to come on.

    • @autofixcentral
      @autofixcentral Месяц назад

      Hmm. The oxygen sensor has to heat up to work. Moreover, the engine is always hot and the sensor was designed to work in that environment.

    I hear the noise and when I turn the wheel to the left it stops if I continue and turn to the right it's the same. I don't hear a decrease or an increase. Does that tell you what side bearing is bad? thank you for your video.

    • @autofixcentral
      @autofixcentral 2 месяца назад

      If I get you right, it doesn't make any noise when you turn to the right and the noise is consistent?

    • @jeff13148
      @jeff13148 2 месяца назад

      @@autofixcentral when I drive down the road I hear the noise. If I swerve to the left the noise goes away but when I straighten out the noise is back and if I swerve to the right the noise stays the same. Only when I swerve left does the noise go away. Hope that helps. Thank you

    • @autofixcentral
      @autofixcentral 2 месяца назад

      Okay, let me describe it for you. When you turn the wheel to the left, and the noise goes away, then the left bearing is at fault. This is because you're loading the right and lightening the left. Conversely, the noise should get louder when you turn right as you're placing more load on the left bearing. To be very sure your bearing is faulty, you can do a test. Simply jack up the vehicle with a jacket and grab the tire, and wiggle it back and fault. It should be tight. If it wobbles a lot, it might need tightening. Otherwise, you have to replace it.

    • @autofixcentral
      @autofixcentral 2 месяца назад

      Let me know if you need more guidance. But if your bearing is truly bad, I'd take it to your mechanic to replace it.

  • @justjordan8018

    Ok I don't have a code reader and have run into an issue with my 2011 camry. The first start up in the morning is great. The engine cranks right up. After I have driven it for a few miles 10, 20 or 30 and let it sit for a moment it cranks, cranks and cranks then eventually starts up. I recently put in a new battery and replaced the air filter. Any suggestions where to go next? I've been told the fuel pump, but the car idles and runs great other than the start up on a warm engine.

    • @autofixcentral
      @autofixcentral 2 месяца назад

      First off, I'll advise you to get a code reader, which is cheaper than throwing parts at the car. When I had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM on my camry (older model), I did change the fuel pump for the problem to stop. Mind you, I also changed the battery, and nothing happened. Try and have the car scanned to be 100% sure before changing the fuel pump.

    • @freddy-vp2jp
      @freddy-vp2jp 2 месяца назад

      @@autofixcentral thnx for the reply. So I had AutoZone to connect a reader and it showed no faults. I’m assuming fuel pump. Some have suggested started/coil but if that was the case wouldn’t it also happen when I first started it in the morning? It’s like there is too much gas or the mixture is not right, but after it sits all night it has drained out or evaporated. It starts right up every morning with no issues.

    • @autofixcentral
      @autofixcentral 2 месяца назад

      If it starts up in the morning with no problems, I doubt it's the starter. The issue is pointing to a faulty fuel pump. Maybe let your mechanic recommend what to do based on all the symptoms and then go with that.

      @@autofixcentral Ok thanks for everyone's help in helping me diagnose my car issue. I went ahead and replaced the fuel pump and everything seems to be working great. Around $400 because I couldn't find the exact replacement for my car anywhere else, but that's ok as long as it works.

      For the shaking, ensure your engine stands are good. If they are good and your engine is well-seated, make sure your tires are properly aligned. For fuel consumption, I need to know what you're using. Also, is it v6? And when did the issue start?
