So Linkin park were very much still in their metal era in fact thier original plan was for their 3rd album to continue the metal trend thats how we ended up with songs like given up and qwerty nu metal but with more punk influence. But as mike shinoda has said that they didnt want a trilogy of metal albums and felt exhausted and wanted to try something new.

Cadence is a part of hip hop meaning that you change cadences to demonstrate reach and illicit reaction and flow meaning that you are not always following the beat because he wants the words to lead 🙄. Kendrick always says he's a child of the 70's. And it reflects in most of his music. He is very much influenced by soul and funk music 🎶🎶. I love that about him. His use of samples encourages people to seek out the original songs. Thus keeping those old-school classics alive 😊

As a life long Hip-Hop listener I appreciate Hip-Hop reactions from people who are from outside the genre because they bring in perspectives, analysis and observations traditional Hip-Hop reviews are not able to define or describe because they are too inside the culture and artform so therefore they take for granted.
