I was fortunate enough to take the Universal Studios Tour when they still had the Battlestar Galactica experience - the Cylon robots came out - we were ":rescued" - the lasers were impressive - I couldn't believe how real they seemed Our "rescuers" said: "Let the humans go!" and began firing - pretty cool - this was in the mid-to-late 1980s - I think it was my visit about 1986

This was one of the best in season one. In fact it's one of the best in all of Si-Fi.

This show was a little campy at times but for the most part the acting and screenplay was really good. Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer , Adama and Tigh were all well cast for their parts and played distinct and memorable characters, although Boomers role in the pilot show was limited. Fun fact: If you've ever served in the US military in a war zone, you'd instantly recognize the plan that Adama and Col. Tigh ran here in disobeying the Council Of 12 and putting all the warriors on hidden standby alert. Truth is that these types of "conspiracies of silence" happen all the time in real life military planning when it comes to cutting through red tape and incompetent senior and civilian leadership.

They should have included the snide remarks and countermanding of Baltars orders by Lucifer outside the throne room

I never could quite figure out the answer to two interconnecting plot holes. The first was how the Cylon Imperious Leader, in this lore a reptile who builds incredible ships and robots to exterminate the Colonies who have come into conflict again and again. But in this galaxy spanning vendetta it "seems logical" to "spare" the most untrustworthy human to help wipe out the humans?! And where, upon a Base Star, a moon sized space fortress (bet you thought I was going to write "space station" 😝) devoted to machine domination would Baltar find a kitchen? Or for that matter a toilet? Do you think there was much need for water aboard one? 😮

If I was the cylons I would just keep firing from very long range a very large supply of missiles until the Galactica simply had no more defenses and shields and that would be the end of it. A simple siege. Classic. Demure.

I loved BSG as a kid. I remember my parents (RIP Dad) took me to a sci-fi double bill at one of the old Derby cinemas (the ABC, I think): Battlestar Galactica 2 and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. It was fantastic!! My Mum fell asleep . . . . I never did understand why! 😂😂😂😂

Apart from bionic man and woman a part machine part human ie cyborg like Terminators Daleks Cybermen even Frankensteins Monster ( man made) have always beem frightening as they haveno feelings but unlike robots they are not programmed
