I can agree that the audio was horrible, it bothered me throughout the whole episode...also they could've done better with the editing. But I liked the episode. I understand what you're saying about the ratio between the hitman stuff versus the fluff, but I have a feeling it will change in the future (but then who knows lmao).

Is nobody gonna say anything? No critiques? I almost never comment on videos, but this show is sending me. So here the f*ck I go... again. This show feels like every BL circa 2015 when the genre was so new in Thailand that writers and directors just expected viewers to be satisfied with any form of queer portrayal (as long as the actors had young, pretty faces, of course). No logical plot. No ruffling any straight feathers with anything less juvenile (because serious content is too real and heaven forbid they perceive LGBT+ characters as anything other than comedic, but not funny, caricatures). Let's just fill every mind-numbing show with magical sponge baths that cure the illnesses that are inexplicably caused by rain (or stress, sleeplessness, studying, breathing, or existing... because Thai gay boys are frail for some reason). I will acknowledge the lack of sponge bath in this episode... progress? But wait, we can't forget adding in an irrationally aggro love interest that consistently ignores the "no means no, hoe" rule. And we're supposed to find it cute when the less macho guy... what? Tames him? Falls for him? Succumbs to Stockholm? I don't want to slam anyone for liking what they like, or gleaning joy from drivel like this. I just can't understand it.🤷‍♀️ Rant over. Hope you're feeling better!

This goofy a$$ show has no business being 24 episodes long. Absolutely not. I was playing this first ep on 2x the speed and still couldn't stop myself from skipping parts. And I cannot with the sexual harassment. In what world is Arc holding Arm to himself (while wearing nothing but a towel) and pinning him to the bed sexy? It doesn't show or build positive sexual tension, it's just intimidating and scary. If Arc was doing this to a female character it would be completely unacceptable. Why does GMMTV think it's okay just because it's 2 guys? FR, most GMMTV writers (and directors) need to be fired. Love your reaction, though. Your facial expressions reflect the expletives swirling around in my brain. 😂

I really liked the tv show and the movie. I had no idea that it was being brought back. My favorite main character is Alex, hands down. I love his funny takes on different situations and I really liked his and Trey’s relationship. Trey is my favorite out of all the love interests because of his relationship with Alex. My least favorite out of the main characters is Ricky because of his take on the Romeo story line and other things, but I still loved Ricky as a whole. He was ride or die for his friends. My least favorite love interest was Malik, the one Noah cheats on Wade with at the end of season 1. I liked most of Noah’s love interests, except him. He was doing too much for me. I do wish we got to see Noah more with Baby Gat because I liked him. In the end though, I was always rooting for Noah and Wade to be end game.

Taiwan: History 3 Make Our Days Count. Hear me out. I know some may feel it's problematic but the whole purpose of that story was change and personal growth. I won't say more because of spoilers. Japan: Cherry Magic. It was such a sweet and endearing BL and people coming into their own. Philippines: Gaya Sa Pelikula. Best soundtrack ever!!!!! Gameboys doesn't age well because of the pandemic aspect ( I still love it and I'd recommend it as a close second) Thai: Bad Buddy. It's a feel good BL. Light and straight to the point.(It's my favorite Thai BL😊) Korea: It's a tie. Where My Eyes Linger ( it was my first Korean BL) Semantic Error I just enjoyed this so much. I like how the title plays a literal part of the story.

You're so right! You can only do the same old tropes so much!!! I need a BL to have a good(completed)story (boring or not) and good side stories that compliment the whole show! Not me was freakin fantastic!

I also enjoyed I Cannot Reach You. It felt like a good, bite-sized high school romance. As for the general topic, I think individual taste will always have a big impact on how boring various aspects are. I like domestic fluff, so I like another Japanese BL named Perfect Propose far more than I would like a similarly simple story made in a different subgenre. I think many people feel the same way about NC scenes as I feel about sweet caretaking moments, yet I also worry writers see these trends and will throw them around without focusing on telling a good story. Similarly I am concerned about things made to be surprising for the sake of being surprising. I disliked Be On Cloud's recent Dead Friend Forever, so I decided to wait until the series 4 Minutes concluded before deciding to watch it because I want a strong, coherent narrative in dramas that center themselves around a mystery. Instead I feel like I am more likely to get shocking plot twists designed to be surprising more than sensible along with envelope pushing NC scenes. I have nothing wrong with the later, but it is not my main draw when watching a BL. At the end of the day, I guess the best I can hope for is audiences to reward showrunners and writers when those creators take the craft seriously enough to care about telling a good story. Who knows if that will ever happen? Critics have long bemoaned the masses chasing after the sizzle over the steak, yet ideally creators can find some way of providing both.

I haven't watched a BL since KinnPorshe, nothing has caught my eye and has seemed more plot focused (Not to say there haven't been any) if there has been and I missed it I would love to know. Because I do want to watch more, but I care about plot just as much as the romance

*His Man* Season 3 is my favorite for sure because I really love every one of the members. All of the members of *His Man* Season 3 are such special and unique individuals that I can't help but fall in love with them.

The things with His Man 3 is that with its long runtime, we didnt get to know the cast on a deeper level like the previous ones... their stories.. struggles of any being part of the community. The drama was overly produced. The Boyfriend was just really good to look at.. like everyone.. i loved Kazuto.. but feel sorry for him..he had to keep on wotking on the tryck while turning guys left and right... he mustve been exhausted Sparks Camp 2 was very relatable.. smart to get their stories out every ep to get to know these people and connect with them. I just wouldve liked more eps.. more games and dates. His Man 2 had an awesome cast. Boycation was a missed opportunity.

The way ‘ the boyfriend’ has me on a chokehold can’t even describe it . I mean it was so diff from any other dating show gay or straight I hv come across. The soft spokeness, the slice of life ,the slow burn, the authenticity and vulnerability , the aesthetic, and obviously Shun hahaha . Can’t get over how good this show was . I can’t even imagine how season 2 would look like .

I am going to drag your A S S jk lol I like the show structure it was different. Was it perfect no but I like the coffee truck because it gave them a chance to see how they interacted with other people and gave them a chance to bond. Maybe they could add more coffee trucks or activities to the show, but I thought it was a classy show. I did not miss the produced drama that American show always have. This was a wholesone dating show. A+ for a new show. Maybe things will change for the better when they get a bigger budget.

My only problem with this show was what they actually choose to show. Seeing many BTS now, we can a smiling Shun? Talking and actually explaining his feels and why he is acting like that? And nearly seeing only the truck dates was so repetitive ; I would love to see more of them in the house. Like all these BTS of them playing in the pool? Having fun? Come on! And my favorite was def Taeheon; the fact that he tried to help everyone, mainly Shun, because he was the same before... So mature and understanding. Very happy that his coming out went smoothly with his parents, too. He deserves to be loved.

If Shun wasn’t on the show , it would hv been wholesome bt so very boring . I mean he added the spice to the show hahah . At first I was as perplexed as Dai , bt as the episodes progressed I was so amused by him .

I hear you about the panel. I kept saying "NOT EVRYTHING BEGS FOR YOUR OPINION "!!!!!! I was over it after the 1st few. The only time I enjoyed them was the reaction to the kiss. Now that was good.

One thing about Shun that is also important to remember is that he is someone who dealt with a serious trauma from a young age, and he continued throughout his life with likely no support from a family. He made a lot of surprising moves on the show 😅 but he is working from a very unique upbringing and mindset. Great review! ❤

Nice review I agree with alot of your points on the show.. aesthetically pleasing but needs to improve on providing opportunies for interacfions.. a drunking party would have been very interesting.. lol Loved how soft Usak was.. Alan's energy and how precious Gensei was. Loved how kind Kazuto was.. but he mustve been exhausted from always working on the truck, cooking for them and then turning down guys left and right haha. They couldve have provided Taeheon opportunites to date as well.. very little screentime... such a waste. In the end i got tired of the entire Dai and Shun thing, good for them.

Other than The Boyfriend, I only had His Man as a reference for an achillean dating show, so I often compared the two! Right from the start, I'll say that I preferred The Boyfriend, and for these reasons: 1. The Boyfriend had a very diverse and interesting cast! Not just in looks, but personality-wise, and you can see that just by looking at Usak's drawings. 2. This is kind of random, but I hate the way His Man is color graded LOL. The show looks like unseasoned chicken-I don't know how else to explain it. On the other hand, The Boyfriend has a vivid and bright look. 3. The house in The Boyfriend is very cozy and has a lot of personality, something I don't see in His Man's houses. 4. His Man lacks interesting dynamics, in my opinion, like writing letters and calling someone for 5 minutes. I really enjoyed the truck idea in The Boyfriend; that format is common in straight dating shows I've seen, so it didn't bother me, and I think it's a really cute idea. I just wish they had more group activities because that adds to the drama LOL. 5. The Boyfriend has a panel of commentators! I love a good panel. I do think that The Boyfriend could have done some things differently, like giving them more opportunities to go on dates. Like, come on, they’re there for weeks. I was very interested in getting to know Japanese achillean men because I already had an idea of how Korean men behave, and I was so entertained and glad to see that they were much less timid than the Koreans. They say what's on their minds, they’re confrontational, so I liked that a lot. Now, about some of the contestants on the show: Alan: My fellow Brazilian king! He was a great addition to the show. At the beginning, I was afraid he would be outcasted because of his loud and bright personality, as some people may feel a bit overwhelmed by that. Romantically, I was worried about him but had no doubts that he would befriend everybody. He's such a kind human being and gives THE best advice... I would love to be his friend. Usak: Handsome man with a soft personality! I loved that for him; that contrast makes him very charming. But considering how famous he was, I was worried he wouldn't get to romance anyone, and well... that's what happened, unfortunately. Kazuto: I think that due to his boyish looks and kind face, people are really attracted to him, he was that shonen protagonist vibe/looks you know. He would be my pick as well LOL. But seriously, he's a very kind and honest person. I love how he wasn't bothered by so many people going after him, and he made sure to validate their feelings and reject them with kindness. Ryota: From the get go, I had the feeling that he would be more reserved, but I was glad to see him actively pursue Kazuto as the show went on. Shun: Look, I got really annoyed with his personality, but I respect it a lot! He's very committed to his own beliefs, values, and feelings. He's very self-aware and knows he's hard to handle. We also have to take into consideration that he had a rough childhood, and the kind of rough that not a lot of people can relate to. He's the type of person I would befriend and call out when needed LOL, but I could never date him; I do not have the patience necessary to deal with him! That dynamic with Dai? Nah bro. Dai: Dai is someone I initially judged by his looks LOL. Unfortunately, I share this prejudice with Shun, since he's all ripped and has nudes just floating around on his phone, which Shun apparently stumbled upon. I assumed he was kind of a f-boy, but I was glad that he proved me wrong and is actually a really nice and patient person.

テヒョン, by Japanese standards, is just too feminine to be found attractive by the mainstream gay community, he was just the older sister the boys could always talk to about their problems. In contrast, カズト was very popular because he looks like he came straight out of Japanese gay porn, which he actually did before. Other guys could sense that vibe from him. 30 years old and still doing gogo boy, that's not boyfriend material at all.

Taeheon - I loooovvvve him! Just like you I was PERPLEXED by how no one was checking for him. Like you said I wish he had more screen time. 😭 Sometimes you’d forget he’s even there. Shun - Even though I like him, I think he’s definitely kinda toxic lol. I was glad to see him start to take accountability for his behaviors towards the end. I just hope he works through his issues a bit more. His reaction to the picture on Dai’s phone annoyed me soooooo much. Like girl you’ve only known this man for all of 5 seconds and you’re trying to make him feel bad because of a picture on his phone???!!!? He’s not even your man yet so why are you tripping so hard. His behaviors in general kinda pissed me off. Like how you gonna tell Dai you wanna just be friends but the stay layed up on him? I still love him though.😭😂 Dai - I LOOOOOVE HIM! If Shun don’t want him I’ll take him! 🙂‍↕️🤪 He just seems like a nice energy to be around. I couldn’t have put up with Shun’s mess like he did. I’m glad they stayed together though because I do think they’re a cute couple. Gensei - I wanna put him in my pocket he’s so endearing and adorable 🥹😊 Alan - Definitely Best Boy! He’s someone I would love to be friends with. I totally agree with you about the pacing of this show. I literally almost dropped it in the beginning because of how random it was. I actually enjoyed the panel in this show and I thought they had funny commentary. I hated the coffee truck thing 😭💀 The concept was cute I guess but I didn’t care for it. I hope they come up with something else next season.
