My next book! - Deepwater Creek production diary 1
Dunno how or why but i'm glad the RUclips algorithm FINALLY recommends something I've actually been reaching for! I'm new to (Solo) RPGs. I only got into them because I had an idea they could be a great writing tool. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks so! Still, jumping in solo is still daunting but your videos on this subject have been super helpful. THANK YOU! Just curious, have you heard of the Adventure Crafter? Made by the same guy who had Mythic. I think you'd like it. If you happen to check it out, would love to see how you use it. Thanks again and wish you the best in your creative endeavors
Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad this is helpful. I have seen the Adventure Crafter. It looks pretty cool. For writing purposes, I felt like it wasn't super helpful for me. I mainly work off of my understanding of story structure to make things work, but it is a cool tool.
This is great. I had a very similar experience. I just started writing cause i want to draw it. I have been trying to learn story structure and outlining but it has really taken out the joy of discovery and pantsing. i've been trying to figure out how i could use rpg to make stories. then i found you so thxs. this topic hasn't been explored.
I think if you know how structure works you can use that to understand how to move the story along through the solo RPG elements. So, if I know I am coming into, say, the midpoint, I will structure the scene I am RP'ing to work in that way. That way, I know I am moving through structure, but I am surprised by the directions it goes.
@@Michael.Regina thank you for the pointers :)
This is really interesting, Michael. Really enjoying seeing how this process can provide an outline for writing. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Awesome! Thank you for being here.
Have you made progress on the game you were creating? I’d love to hear more about that.
I’ve made some progress. Mostly trying to figure out what I think is truly like to make. Been leaning towards making more solo-play and gm-less oriented content. There’s already so many amazing TTRPGs out there but I think I could do something interesting in that space.
Thank you so much sir. This has helped me look at my life in a bigger picture.
I’m so glad it was helpful! All the best to you and thanks for being here!
I played one scenario over a month with friends earlier this year, and it was quite good. As much as I love CoC, this is definitely a game I want to get back to the table again later this year.
Yeah I really enjoy Vaesen as well. I hope to return to my solo story very soon. I’m also looking forward to playing Mothership and Alien RPG soon.
Hi MY KING I JUST GOT ADDAMSVILLE 3 r.i.p my ruby rube she was a boss, i love ur books 😝 they have so much emotions and energy, my family says "you need to stop reading comics and that stuff and go read other stuff" like excuse me ? I cant read the best books like bruhim going ti my cousins house tomorrow and im gomna bring all my book by u,
Awesome! Thank you!
@@Michael.Regina OMG YOU REPLIEDEDDD 😭😭😭😭
even whit full time job people can learn to draw and write or new languge its just takes time
So, I'm around minute 6:35 and you notebook looks a lot like a calendar book. I buy two or three calendars a year year and use them approximately zero times. How is this better than a calendar book? It must be because you could just buy a calendar.
It’s not necessarily better. I’m just sharing my process and what is working for me. The bigger point is to try things and develop a system that works, then be consistent.
i like trevor henderson creation & terror i want meeting you in the first person. i like the story of terror
I finally finished my game system for a writing RPG! I hope it all comes together🤩🤩🤩
Nice! Hope it goes well.
Hey Micheal, Thank you for the tips. Can someone from Asia submit a pitch Graphic Novel manuscript to US publishers?
Hi! Thanks for being here! That’s a good question. I don’t see why you couldn’t, but I honestly don’t know what all of the logistics of it would be. Best thing to do would probably be to try and get a literary agent to help navigate those waters.
Claytor’s checking in, awesome video Mr. Regina!
Thanks, Claytor fam! 🙂
Hi Michael, thanks so much for your videos, I really enjoy them! I especially appreciate that you make time to record them, knowing your free time is limited! I've been overdue thanking you since I have been watching them for a while now! It's nice to know there are others out there trying to make comics with a day job and a family, thanks again!
Oh, man! You're so welcome! Thank you for being here. I am glad I am encouraging so many to stay encouraged and keep creating. :-)
Hi Mr. Regina! After struggling under analysis paralysis for years, I'm finally starting to create my own comic! One big thing's stopping me, though - I'm not sure big to make my digital canvas (like pixels/inch) or how big to make the margins between the panels and the edges of the page (I think clip studio paint has a tool built in for this, but I'm using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro which unfortunately doesn't have those templates). I haven't found a conclusive answer for this really anywhere else online, so I thought asking someone who actually had a graphic novel published would be a good idea.
Hi! Thanks for being here! To answer your question, there really is no set rule in this. For gutters between panels, go with whatever feels right to you. For margins on the page, it depends on how you aim to print it. The best advice i can give you here is to look at some comics you like and do some measuring on dimensions of the page, the border around the edge of the art etc and copy that. Then add an additional .25 inches to the over all size. So if your comic will be printed at 6x9, make the overall size 6.25x9.25. Make sure it’s at least 300dpi in the computer. Hope that helps and best of luck!
Thank you so much! This helped a lot
Another great video. I'm a notebook guy too. I'll be signing up for the newsletter.
Thanks!
