Thank you for the video, is really helpful.
Really great job!
Cool video Lana 😃👍 im 5'6 tall & ive learnt there are at least 3 good techniques to mounting /dismounting a much bigger bike & also when coming to stop lights ! Being a shorter rider shouldn't stop you from riding bigger bikes like heavier touring bike on a 7 day ride across your country 🇦🇺🏍👍 There is so many video's out there now days that can help all riders 👍 1 of the things i love most about the new age of Internet technology is Google / RUclips have all the information & helpful videos for all difficult occasions 👍 if we use the internet for Good & NOT Evil we can learn so much about what we are interested in 😃👍🙏✨️ Cheers from down under in Aus Lana 🍹🇦🇺🕺
Lana the whole learning process is fun 🏍 😄 We all will hit cones 😵💫 But the day we complete a training circuit without hitting a single cone is such a buzz & great feeling 😊 Im sure as motorcycle riders we wont ever stop learning & improving our bike skills 🏍 I think you are great & im sure you will succeed in your quest to be the best rider you can be 😃👍 i practice at least once a week or sometimes 3 times a week & i love it 🏍 Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🍹✨️
Installed mine, and everything works fine except the aux lights going 100% on high beam. Yours works fine?
CANsmart configuration has four default brightness settings for low beam vs high beam and daytime vs nighttime. Change the high beam settings to what you prefer using the two lower sliders at 3:00 here ruclips.net/video/UdFLwaURW_c/видео.html
@LanaOnWheels yes all that works fine ! What happens is that only the red channel works on high beam to put the brightness level at 100%. The blue channel stays at whatever you set it up. At night, if I hit high beam, I want all the power for all lights. My setup is different than yours. I have two lights asigned to the red channel and 2 to the blue channel . The red channel works fine and goes 100% on high beam. Is the blue channel that doesn't change. Thanks for answering!
Another one of the few jewels on youtube imparting knowledge, displaying skills and doing so without all the ego so typical in other videos. Make your short list of videos to watch and include Lana on Wheels. Yeah, I'm the critical one but LOW is just a top tier teacher. You won't find any patronizing nonsense in her videos, just true knowledge backed up by experience and demonstrated skill. And no, she doesn't scream at you telling you how wrong you are doing everything. Refreshing. Watch these videos, follow along and one way to maximize your effort is to take a tablet with you to the parking lot or wherever you have some practice space and practice right after watching a segment. Whether you've been riding for a few days or many many years, you will improve your riding skills watching Lana on Wheels. And if you think this is a promo thing, read some other reviews and you'll know I applaud high quality and also point out schlock cheap for clicks videos. This is next level training people. Lana, you're giving a gift to a lot of people. Like Dave Moss and a very few others, you do it with pure class.
Thank you! This really means a lot. Thank you
Hi I connected the two d7pros a left light to the white line and the right to the red line how can I turn on only the central LEDs or only the side ones or both, do they have to be connected differently? Do I have to use another line? Or can it be done from the software? Then for each headlight I gave 10A, and 5A for the stop light is that right? Can you make an assembly diagram thanks
Yes, you have to use a different approach because right now each of your lights can only be controlled as a complete unit, with no separation between side and central LEDs. The solution I show in this video and its companion ruclips.net/video/qmONUJZFb0A/видео.html, I use three circuits: 1. Central LEDs - left; 2. Central LEDs - right; 3. Side LEDs - both sides. Watch both videos, and you'll see which cables I use, their routing, all connections, and control unit configuration. This gives you all the necessary functionality (central LEDs as daytime and turn signals, side LEDs as high beam at night) and leaves the fourth circuit available for the brake light.
ok thanks so you have to pass an extra cable and use three lines .. I see three cables coming out of the saddle but I don't understand how they are connected to the lights I don't understand much English. maybe it will be more complicated to pass the cables in my adv 1300 in the front part
i.postimg.cc/Vv6pjHt8/20250123-165520.jpg i.postimg.cc/3Nc69CjD/20250123-165558.jpg i.postimg.cc/XJxtB0pL/20250123-191037.jpg i.postimg.cc/yd7wNNYW
Start with ruclips.net/video/qmONUJZFb0A/видео.html - at 2:15 - 2:35 I talk about the cables I use and why I need three cables and three circuits on the CANsmart. Then in this video you can see where the other ends of the cables go, at 0:38 - 0:56, and how to configure CANsmart for this layout, from 2:15. All my videos have subtitles - they will help you understand.
yes thanks I have already seen a diagram would be more useful, in the can smart instructions there is only one for connecting two sets of spotlights 4 in total.
Thank you! BRAVO!
La batteria originale al litio regge queste denali d7 pro o l'hai cambiata?
There's nothing special about the lithium battery in relation to the lights. Just don't keep the lights on for too long when the engine is not running - same as the old style battery.
Hi! Hope you can help. My bike came with the original BMW auxiliaries, and when you disconnect them an error pops up. How can you avoid this? Does the bike needs to be taken to the dealer so they can erase the warning? Thank you!
You have to reconfigure the bike at the dealership or with the GS-911 tool www.hexgs911.com/
I havent wanted to forsake my fun blindspot lights yet! But, it would be nice to be able to lane split better past huge construction truck mirrors!!!! Working well for you?
lane splitting does not exist in MA, unfortunately. I switched to the doubletake ones because they are the best for the off road riding. you can adjust them quickly for sitting or standing.
Благодарю Вас!
I am 5 foot tall so you guys can imagine my struggles! This video is excellent, the instructions and the progression to follow are key for me to understand how to go about acquiring this new skill. I am going to start practicing all the various skills you showed us. Actually these should be a requirement for us to call ourselves experienced bikers. So excited to start practicing. Thank you so very much for an excellent video 😃👍
Glad the video was helpful!
Thank you for the wonderful explanation . I know now what to look for, when to act, ract and avoid. Thank you again. Greetings from San Diego California.
Great video as all the others. Clear and direct to the more important points to improve everyone's riding skills.!!
😊👍🏍✨️
Lana some very useful tips & techniques in this video 😄👍 Im not very tall at 5'7 on a good day so these short rider skills are great for me to master & become 2nd nature within my everyday riding ,i do like what You said about the lower spine & what could happen if only using the left leg for many years & i can relate because im soon to have my 2nd lumbar spine operation ( already had a Laminectomy in 2010 & surgeon only made my spine worse ! Wasn't his finest hour with his knife 🙈) i totally understand what you were getting at about the potential damage that could occur by years of using same leg with shorter riders on bigger bikes 😄👍 im NOT seeking other motorcycle instructors for now & only watch your teachings & learn from you ! This video in particular because of the part about spine made sence to my ears 👍 Cheer from Bundaberg Australia 🇦🇺🍹🏍🕯
Glad the video was helpful. Thank you for sharing your story.
Great skills on display here 🏍😊👍✨️
Loves these vids 😊👍🏍✨️
Gentle reminder that if your bike has a DCT, check the parking brake often, like every time you get ready to ride. A DCT bike with a marginal parking brake will sit perfectly still on a slight incline until you walk away and then it will follow gravity. Adjusting them takes mere minutes but do it. Another tip for those riding DCT bikes, take along a door wedge, the kind you might use in the garage or when staying at a hotel to block the door from opening. No matter how good your parking brake is, place that wedge in back of or in front of the rear tire when parking on an incline. Its small enough to fit into a jacket pocket but it can really save your bike. If you can't manage that, a length of velcro will let you keep the front brake lever slight tight (slightly) and it's a second to put on and remove but can really prevent roll aways on a DCT or any bike really.
Thank you for adding great points for DCT! and yes, velcro is also helpful to have even on a regular bike. I always carry a small roll of it on the handlebars.
@@LanaOnWheels Everyone who rides or wants to ride should watch your videos. Like a few others (and there aren't many) your videos are professional in presentation, no condescending nonsense telling people how wrong they are, just good information with practical demos that anyone can follow. RUclips could delete almost every motorcycle video but if they kept yours and a very few others that would be enough to keep riders safe, build their skills and keep their bikes running in tip top condition. I'm as critical as they come so no smoke here, your videos are tops and just about anyone could go from never having ridden to a safe and good rider by watching and listening to you. Keep going.

I am a former motorcycle rider from 1975. I am 73. I am fit and exercise cardio and weight lifting daily > Am I nuts ti consider buying a GS 1250?
I am also 5.6 tall
This is a very personal decision. Your age on its own doesn't decide anything, though it should be a factor. Consider other things that come into play when riding a large motorcycle. Do you have good control when stopped with just one foot on the ground (with your height, that's the best you can do)? Do you have good balance? Are your knees healthy, and is your physical strength good enough to lift the bike (let's say a minimum 170lbs for a deadlift)? If your answers to these questions are a confident yes, go and do a test ride. See how it feels, then decide. Though I would recommend you stretch for a 1300 because of its adaptive ride height option. There's nothing wrong with using a bit of technology to make your life easier.
I liked the D7 pro configuration of your choice, but when we add B6 brake light what would be the ideal ampers gor the system? I thought; left and right center 7.5A, outer leds 10A, and brake 5A? What is your opinion
I looked at the spec of leds Single D7 pro is 8amps. Left center: 3.43Amp Right center: 3.43Amp Both outer: 9.14amps B6 brake: 0.5amps Corrected the numbers yes you are right
Your numbers are correct (but I think you wanted to say "both outer", not "both center"). So you can set something like 5A for each circuit driving the center LEDs, keep 10A for the circuit shared by the outer LEDs of both pods, and then you have more than enough left for the brake light.
People like you help me too buy the bike that I always dreamed (1200Gs) and not the bike that I could drive for my psychological size limits. (750GS) so THANK YOU 🙏
Nice vids.i love your slow speed skill!
I think this is probably the most important skill in the whole motorcycle toolbox.
Gotta love your chalk diagram on the tilted pavement! I lost an expensive mirror in an active parking lot due to my inattention to roadway slope! I am going back to the beginning of that vid for a review. Many thanks for your video! ❤
Thanks for the tips! The drawing you made was very helpful (sometimes it’s hard to see the incline depending on how the camera is set up) and you explained very well
Thanks for your video; they’re very helpful. Your machine come with the standard headlight or the Pro version? Is there any difference in power, or is it just the addition of cornering lights?
my headlight is standard.
Thank you Lana. I am learning a lot from your videos. You are doing something great for the motorcycle riding community.
I'm glad you're enjoying the videos, keep practicing and keep safe!
Very helpfull you really help me.
Amazing...I really wish to do it. Conggrats.
Hi Lana! What about going up slope, and the bike stalls which I uncontrollably falls. I have had that bad experience. Any tips ?
The next video in the series might give you some good ideas. ruclips.net/video/etqqzJ06R90/видео.html
Thanks for video👍
What about pot holes heavy traffic less time like India???
Thank you Lana for your valuable lessons. I just got my first motorcycle and am learning to ride and enjoy it. Ride safe everyone. :)
Lana, thank you for your videos and lessons. I am a new rider and get many insights from you. Salamat from Manila.
Lana, your videos and how you put things, really encourage us to keep going...I really love them and recommend them to friends. You are helping many of new riders with such good videos.
I appreciate your passion and inspiration. The practice helps people master their skills for the much safer side. Essentially it makes the bike to be an extension of the riders. It applies to all riders --- tall or short.

Hi, thanks for the detailed video. However I have a question regarding to the amps setting. How do you decide the related amps? What if you leave it as default? If I’d have a pair of D2s on top of D7pros then what would be the settings?
The default is too low for D7 Pros. Take the specifications of all your lights and calculate the correct settings based on their maximum power consumption.
Thanks for this video. In the Netherlands, this is all part of the driver's license exam. But I still practices sometimes
You're absolutely right, none of these skills are anything special. Unfortunately, in many countries, including the US, motorcycle license requirements are not as strict as in Europe. And then many riders don't think of going back to those exercises even if they went through them in the licensing course. Finally, every exercise can be done at a different level of difficulty, and I recommend my viewers to challenge themselves with tighter turns than they're comfortable with or slowing down the slow race exercise beyond what they think they can do.
This is so helpful. I wished I had came across your channel before I went for my first lesson. I fell so many times on a cb125 due to my short inseam and I kept falling off when I’m stopping the bike. Broke a toenail and had so many bruises and had to take a break from lesson now. 😭
It sounds like you're going through the things that many short rider goes through. I'm so sorry. Take your time to heal!
