My problem isn’t stupid friends. It’s some people I work with - most are considered “winners” with money & advanced degrees but they’re often they’re so lacking in self awareness it’s nauseating. So be careful who you define as “smart” or a “winner.” People can be wise in different ways & a lot of the so-called winners will make your life hell expecting you to cowtow to them & not respecting your time & freedom. Sadly, that’s kind of what it takes to “get ahead” in our world. But now, as an older person, I’m not sure it’s worth it working for narcissists.

Independent Moderate here, male, in my thirties, single, and I absolutely agree with this. Not saying everyone needs to have a family, but my personal experience is that something is definitely lacking from life. This could be family, it could probably be other things as well, but without it, it is very easy to just stay an overgrown child for decades.

I learned a LONG time ago that "people aren't always going to like you!!" I too, was a "people pleaser" and in return I was lied to, cheated on, turned away from by people believing lies about me, and taken advantage of!! As a result, I became angry, bitter and very negative!! I ended up walking around with an angry "dog face" all the time and it took me realizing "I" was the one I was angry, bitter and negative towards because "I" allowed myself to be put into these situations!! And once I heard about this quote, I learned not to give a damn about what others thought of me but more importantly, what I thought and believed about myself!! I've been happier ever since while those same people are still miserable!! It's all about having perspective, taking accountability for YOUR part, doing better and becoming a better person for it!!❤️🥰🙏🏼

I am in this situation and I feel so trap, I always want good for people around me and in the shame time I take my self down and down. I feel so conflict with my self. Everytime they show me disrespect to me. I feel I no longer want to move out from their circle but I feel so trap and numb I have not strength to do that. I feel I make them disappointed while they already made me disappointed 😞
