When Simon and Kamina gave their iconic speeches they're intended to inspire those around them as the are leaders, so they point to the heavens as way to guide them. Kittan starts off this way and decides no, his speech was about him and him alone cementing himself as his own, and instead of pointing to the heavens he reaches out to GRAB it. A perfect end to such an amazing character.

I know a lot of people write off Kitan and don't care for him, but I always have found his narrative so mature and interesting, always in Kamina's shadow, Simon manages to shine past the shadow of what came before, but Kitan, just slightly out of reach, Comparing himself to Kamina up until the end, comparing himself to Simon too, never feeling enough but willing to take the risk. I think he's such an important character. I don't think it's coincidental that his Giga Drill is the second people rewatch. I also don't think it's coincidental that his death explains so much about Spital Power, is so Iconic, and that the most iconic and replayed TTGL OST track, the Operatic version of Row Row Fight The Power; Libera Me From Hell is first played in TTGL in this scene. Here's to an underrated Under Dog, King Kitan. He really did the impossible, and was the seen invisible.
