    Its some amazing country! I did most of the bdr this summer, but couldnt do section 5 due to the fires. It was one of the most anticipated sections so I was a bit bummed. Maybe ill drive it again someday.

      I think the Oregon BDR is taking real advantage of the diversity of the state. Finding a good time after the snow is gone and before fire season starts can be a bit challenging, though.

    Great videos. Now knowing that your wife is a photographer, I'm interested in what kind of camera you are using? It definitely looks great and not of an action camera quality.

      @@robertguffey1453 Thank you. Glad you like the videos. My wife used a Nikon D750 for the shots in the a skylight cave and some of the other still photography. We do use a GoPro on a gimbal for a lot of the video footage, but we added an ND-filter which makes a big difference in the image quality.

    Will a ranger raptor make it there in terms of width of the car especially white rim trial?

      @@marioa2753 Yes, it would easily make the Shafer Trail. I am not sure about the White Rim Trail, since we did not go there. From what I’ve heard the permits for the White Rim Trail are almost impossible to get from the National Park Service. But good luck with it.

    I live along the Oregon BDR. Please slow down when you pass homes. The dust from all of the rigs gets old after awhile. We like to air dry our laundry and it is hard to do with all of the dust. The dust also coats everything, house and autos.

      Very good point. Yes, I very much agree that we all must be respectful of private property, and keeping the dust down near homes is the first order of business.

      @@briansurratt8091 Most of Section 3 would probably be ok, but I think the beehive washout would be very challenging for such a tall vehicle.

      @@stereode1uxe Yeah, I would think so. Section 4 definitely. The southern part of section 5 is a little rocky but I think you can manage it if you are careful.

    I'm SO jealous. I did sections 5, 6 and 7 coming from the north. Skylight Cave was my last stop before heading home but they had already removed the ladder. It was late September. I was so bummed.

      @Bronc_Riding yeah, the sign at the cave has a date of October 1st, but when I got home to do some research they must have recently changed it to September 15th. Bats hibernate there over winter so they don't want people disturbing them.

    The Ochocos are some of our favorite places to go explore. FYI much of the Ochoco Mts burned this summer. The Crazy Creek Fire in July burned 86,968 acres and the Wiley Flat fire in the Maury Mountains burned 30185 acres in September. We just returned from one of our secret places that did not burn.

      Yes, I was sad to see that the fires hit the Ochocos this summer so hard. It looks pretty bad on the fire maps, but I hope we can go explore the area at a later point again.

      Thanks Mike! Yes, I felt a trip to the Ochocos was long overdue. This part of our state is so beautiful. My wife and I really enjoy overlanding together, and filming it is a lot easier as a 2-person job.
