    very good timing this for me @IvanLeens as I am going to try and open my own recruitment company for 2025, BUT need to be conscious of initial start-up spend. So in your opinion, what are the bare bones needed in terms of job boards and Linkedin, and also what about a cloud based phone system, OR is a mobile good to start with.

      Works for me, maybe because I am targeting companies that really grew recently. It has to be true and make sense obviously. And from my experience, your connection request message is not that important as long as you don’t try to sell and don’t ask anything. I am curious, what do you use ?

    Hi Ivan! Hope you're doing well! I needed some insight on how to calculate the pay rate markup and Bill rate.. Ex. My client pays their workers a $25.00 pay rate. How can I figure out what I am going to build them and what markup?? If you have an easy method to figure all three out would be fantastic! We just started our recruiting/staffing co and looking for effective shortcuts

      Difficult to answer without more context and info. If you go with a mark up and considering it’s probably a volume market with such a low pay rate, I would apply a 20% mark up (30$) but again there are many other factors to consider to make sure it’s viable such as contract duration, volume, how niche and difficult to find those profile are, market standards, etc

      Hi Page, you usually split it in three. You calculate your fee based on the client budget for the role and then they pay a third for you to start the search, another third when you plan interviews and the last part when the candidate starts. But it depends on you

      @@theagencygirl I would tell them that you started with contigency to prove your value but that you usually work on retainers (for the reasons explained on the video). Ask open questions then (how they feel about it, if they already worked that way, etc)

      @@IvanLeens every year there is a wind exhibition in Tokyo. This year was the fourth one and I’ve heard it is getting bigger each time. Japan has goals to hit carbon neutrality by 2030 and also 2050 so therefore the renewable energy will definitely grow.

    Really good video and well summarised. A lot of energy and work can be put into things that for reasons out of your control lead to nothing. This can be also particularly hard when you are a solo recruiter and you have to pick yourself up and go again.
