I always wanted a Super Beatle. Since I'm playing direct using a Helix, I don't use / need a guitar amp. Funny how times have changed.
Wow! You got to jam with Paul......that is so cool! He always seems like such a nice guy! Hey, sorry I missed you at the Al DiMeola show....we were unable to go last night. The next show I'll be at is the Eric Gales show on 5/5. No worries though, I tend to see you at most of the shows I seem to go...lol....
Does anyone remember the name of the song that Paul Gilbert did with Paul Hanson and Tim Bogert on the cassette tape that GIT would send out to prospective students?
How did you get so good? I struggle to play 60s rock solos
I learned how to use the metronome to improve my playing and practiced in front of a mirror to make sure my technique lpoked right
I started at GIT in August of 1986. I miss that period in my life. What a magical year!! Many of my classmates are still dear friends to this day, so the value of one year spent at the Musicians Institute was greater than simply becoming a better musician!!
There's a way for contact you? I want to make a profile of that amp with my Kemper or Neural Amp Modeler? If it is necessary to pay I will do it without problems.
Great album, love first track
Thank You
I love that you put In a Gadda Da Vida and The Iron Butterfly theme both in this video.
Im a fan of Iron Butterfly. The Butterfly used Vox Beatle Amplifiers too.
I live that you put In a Gadda Da Vida and The Iron Butterfly theme both in this video.
Is this a solid state amp?
Yes it is a solid state amp
Yes
I have one and love it! My foot switch has 5 buttons on it …reverb,tremolo,mid-range boost, top boost and distortion. I asked my son in law what of my stuff he would want when I die and he instantly said , I want the Beatle !!! Lol 👍🙋♂️🖖🏻
I was there 87-88…. who worked at NRG part time?? Calling people around the US conducting surveys about potential movie ideas?? Lived on Highland Ave 5 minutes from the Hollywood Bowl
I wanted to go so bad in 1988 but couldn't afford the summer session or the full year class. I still feel disappointed to this day.
What if you are over 60 years old
Steve I am an alumni, there were multiple ages of adults that were there! You can go even at 60!!
thanks for posting I went there 86-87 so cool seeing so many of my old instructors and the school itself. Paul Gilbert was one of my favorites he looks so young 🙂 also they left off a couple of my favorites from that year Jennifer Batten was teaching there in 86 but hadn't got famous yet. Another favorite not mentioned I loved Les Wise's Jazz improve class even though I was more from a metal/classical/rock background 👍 also if anyone is interested I have a whole series of videos talking about different classes, instructors and what was expected of students in 86-87 when I attended
We graduated together.
@@chrisclermont456 That's cool, that year was a great time for me (even though I was totally broke & ended up having to work at the Arby's right by the school to pay rent 🙂) but so many great instructors & great students that were inspiring to me 👍P.S. I'm going to check out your channel after writing this
My DREAM AMP......first time i saw one i lost my breath from falling in love....NOTHING ELSE SOUNDS LIKE THE SUPER BEATLE. and i read they were crap to drag on the road and stayed broken most the time.
If I were to plug a five button pedal into my 1141 Beatles, I heard that it would fry some bits. So I stick with the four button models, plenty of other fail available. I have four Beatles for the dual Brotary, but two are dead atm so I'm just running a single.
Like the pivot licks and string skipping
Thank You
Challenge accepted.
Very cool! Are you using any pedals, and if so, which ones?
Very cool! Are you using any pedals? If so, which ones?
No pedals. Just the effects out of the amplifier
? ᑭᖇOᗰOᔕᗰ
Nice!!!!
Thank You
Man, that's a cool video. I really wanted to go to that school back in the day, but a move to LA, plus the cost of the school just wasn't in the works.
Paul Gilbert is really a giving and gracious individual
I attended Summer Session 86...then went for the 1 year 89/90.....What an amazing time!!!....I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!!
Pete Townshend and John Entwistle of The Who used (and abused) four of these units on stage while in the States in '67.
probably because he had a bad history with Vox. a Vox ac 100 fried out on him during a performance in early years.
The performance at Monterey clearly shows the quality of them and the circutry was garbage.
@@crlaw75 they were heavily based on the tube amps. They say the tube amps were garbage also. A lot of the 60s bands used them. They do have that 60s unique sound.
Thomas Organ charged enough money, figuring the band can sound like The Beatles with those units.
@@crlaw75 The Amp has 3 Channels. 2 Channels are for Guitar. Lead and Rhythm. The 3rd channel is for a Bass Guitar. The amp was made for a whole band to use at the same time. I never tried it, but thats what they say.
PAUL GILBERT. Hands down. The year is 2022 and he's still one of the greatest guitarists in the history of guitar music.
Could you demo more of the repeat percussion?
I'm working on a new demo. It won't be out till about February
Can't put my finger on what song is at 5:19?
Intro to Journey to the center of the mind
Those from the Tom Petty Estate?
No
Sounds to me that Howard Roberts had his priorities very straight. Tremendously rare.
Love it
Thanks Rita!
YEESSSSS!!!!
Thanks Ruben!

1:42 Dan Gilbert ! ! !
83-84 is when i went and it was a great experience. Helped me get my footing. Its hard to believe it was only 3,400 back then. Great teachers and classes. 2 teachers auditioned for zappa and 1 got the runner up position behind wackerman. Good memories and lots of amazing talent.
17:26 someone has the tablature of that ??? is beauty

86 was the year I started. Truly the Golden Era.
There in 1985/1986....Great seeing so many of the friends I had made. I also recall this video being made. Just an amazing time.
Awesome memories!
Wow! What a memory. This was my class, '85-'86. I'm the kid in the blue shirt at 6:04 at age 21. Best time ever!!
@@tonesmyth can i ask you something about MI? in pvt?
Oh Great job my friends .... Congratulations!!
Excelente trabajo!
Thank You Juan!
Thats the year I went, '86, and Paul Gilbert was my private teacher.
Then you were one of my classmates!! It's Chris Clermont. Remember when Paul came in with the drill bit with picks attached to it (for the very first time)??? He was Funny AF!!
Awesome!
Thanks Maurice!
What a great video. Sigh I want to go but in 1986.
