I was disappointed with the transformers , but found free silver so it was a win and they aren’t taking up space anymore

@Hill-13 yeah, i don't pass them up , at least for my area , I know other places it's just not worth it

I was hoping for more copper . I did those three last night while converting silver chloride . The transformers had aluminum windings ( drag )

@Hill-13 in England there are screw apart plugs and moulded plugs the screw apart plugs are always copper windings on everything

@ I think I found three of the cheapest made microwaves. But I did get some silver contacts and the fan motors had bright copper . I see a copper ingot in the future

@Hill-13 mate I hate them because of the beryllium magnetron pink I see people mess with them all the time like me you know that 0.006 of a gram airborne could kill you. That's a grain the size of a pin head. Even though them microwaves are aluminum oxide it still freaks me out and the costic soda used in dishwasher liquids burns like sulphuric acid and gives nasty vapours

@ i agree I had never taken one apart until Saturday night. Unless it’s old then I will pick it up . Finding aluminum windings in those huge transformers was disappointing .

@ The gold refining forum guys frown on peroxides as being too dangerous but maybe they mean piranha. Also, is the air bubbler just tygon or silicone? I’m thinking I will use glass.

@@naughtiusmaximus830 that bubbler has lasted years looks like pressed silca , regarding the AP I made it w/ HCl , Copper and a capful of perioxide years ago . I just would add HCl when Copper 1 chloride would drop out. I guess I should really call it copper II chloride or copper etchant . AP is easier to type .

@ I solved my vacuum filtration problem thanks to a small compressed air-powered suction ejector "Goliat" from my friend who is a medical technician😉, "Goliat" is used in emergency care and the quality is also there👌🏼. Doesn't make any noise and is extremely durable and strong. Just a little tip in all good intentions😉

Just a little past the four minute mark the solution was decanted and more water and Poorman’s Nitric was added .

My plans is to make some ingots first , then do a copper of lost wax small sculptures . I don’t know yet but I do love my copper cell. We’ll see

Dave did you read the description ? 2NaNO3 + H2SO4 =NaSO4+2HNO3 After producing nitric acid the nitric acid attacks the copper base metal Cu + HNO3 = Cu(NO3)2 + NO2 + H2O Copper plus nitric equals copper nitrate , nitrogen dioxide and more water

Water , sulfuric acid and a salt of nitrate ( sodium or potassium nitrate for example )

Hydrocloric an potassium nitrate is best tbh

@AndyAngelaGilbert it’s really was about doing this cheaper . Since poor man nitric really is HCl and a nitrate salt this was the best option for me .

Yes sir you are so right . I had to sell off some silver I made this year to finance some lab upgrades and have a budget for processing more silver. It’s funny that small amount of gold I kept that I processed is worth more than the silver I sold

I get that I’m only using SMB because I need to make ferrous sulphate just haven’t had time .

@ happy new year buddy don’t be surprised if more gold falls out off solution I put all my waste from my pins into the same bucket with no copper and I got another gram about a month later when i decanted the bucket

Hope so , I was think of throwing in some fingers from cards but I don’t want to mess up the yield data . Started note taking on this . I think after filtering this I’m going to use the solution to process the fingers then use electrolysis to recover the acid and copper ?

@Hill-13 I think a 30 year old book that everyone calls the ewaste bible is incorrect and dam right dangerous. I spent a year studying and let me tell you brother not many people get it like you. So inavate log everything no need to copy or worry keep going. I have a big database running you are on it and one of my favourites to come out on top. I pushed the PMG’s down stream into my waste bucket . I need to process the container this year . My plan is to use Copper pipe will drop any PMG in the AP then iron or electrolysis to remove the copper .

Might be easier to use DMG . Heck you could probably use AL after dropping the gold , but then you have every thing above AL and redisovle drop w/ DMG

So many ways, thats where I got tripped up in the beginning, so many ways, so many places. It was when I focused on a few refiners , that had similar procedures. Then i actually started to understand 🙃 😅

Try the CUCL2 method. It works a lot better on pulling the foils and dissolves base metals ! Copper chloride is easier to mess with and you can use it over and over again.

Bars are better it takes longer to clog the anode bag allowing a longer run time

Yes log everything including base metal types so we can alter the gold recovery equations for eg copper, steel and so on.
