Beautiful.
This was superb live - I was there - for a choir reunion - thank you to Alex Pott and Mark Williams
Great musicality throughout ,Thank you so much.
Bit heavy on the pedal reeds in the prelude in E flat
Thank you for uploading the service! Greetings from Germany
❤❤
I can only dream of being this accurate and musical. Bravo! (And that pedal Quint is amazing.)
This recital was my first intro to the new Magdalen Eule, and kept me company while working today. Bravo to Robert Quinney - Mendelssohn is always a pleasure (what a lot of notes though!), and the Byrd from memory was exquisite. Thank you for posting!
Brilliant! 👍
Bravo👏 Magnificent performance!
❤
Sounds like there were only half a dozen people in the audience! What a pity, a very nice recital with good sound.
Nice
It is crystal clear J. S. Bach intended to make the entire congregation fall asleep, if not pass out altogether with these compositions. And Mr. Pott has succeeded admirably in carrying out Mr. Bach's intentions to the fullest! 😉😂
Thank you for your kind comment I will pass it on to the choir.
Beautiful phrasing, diction and dynamics. We bless thee Lord for thy creation.
Magnificent performance! Please add the time stamps for each composition/movement, thank you.
Greetings from 🇨🇱!
One of the highlights of Spring every year
Thank you!
Te Deum Patrem colimus, Te laudibus prosequimur, qui corpus cibo reficis, coelesti mentem gratia. Te adoramus, O Jesu, Te, Fili unigenite, Te, qui non dedignatus es subire claustra Virginis. Actus in crucem, factus es irato Deo victima per te, Salvator unice vitae spes nobis rediit. Tibi, aeterne Spiritus cuius afflatu peperit infantem Deum Maria, aeternum benedicimus. Triune Deus, hominum salutis auctor optime, immensum hoc mysterium ovante lingua canimus.
Thanks so much for sharing this ...
This is a glorious start to the day, to May, and to summer! Thank you to all singers, your outstanding choirmaster, and the crew for sharing your wonderful gifts. Greetings from Chicago (USA).
Thank you, so beautiful, lovely voice. Thank you, Mary, of your month of May ❤🎉
Superb singing. How can we encourage children to sing such beautiful music. It would be lovely to hear this choir singing on Swindon Town Gardens 'Bowl' or a smaller choir from Maugdeln in the Town Gardens Band Stand
MM 2023 found me hospitalized recovering from a serious case of food poisoning, but I didn't miss it on my phone. I'm grateful that I can enjoy the music in good health this year! And I'll be visiting Oxford this summer!
Cheers From Pendleton, IN.USA. This is Refreshing and a joy for my soul. Thank you.
Thank you for a beautiful May morning. Greetings from Arizona.
Aaahhh ....Sigh🥹🥹🥹 The beautiful spirit of England as I remembered it 🤩🤩🤩 Thank you with poignant memories and a full heart ❤️🔥😪God save Britain from her enemies and grant her Victory 👊⚡️✝️🛐 is my prayer for this Marian Month of May 💙🩵💙💫💫💫
Who are Britain's "enemies" that you pray for victory over?
@@whitemughal2Inflation, wokery etc etc etc !!
@@whitemughal2 Everyone who does not wish her well
@@tamaveirene Such as?
@@nickdouglass421 This term "wokery" gets thrown around a lot lately. Not sure what you are referring to here.
Waking to this glorious sound in San Francisco. Deo gratias!

Wonderful. A positive item of news and as such, will get virtually zero coverage.
Awesome!🎉
Beautiful. Well done everyone
The best morning of the year in Oxford! I lived in and near Oxford for 26 years, and got up for the May singing many times. Something I miss.
Superb. Mark Williams is one of the best choir directoprs in the business and his choir rise to the occasion superbly-
Excellent- Just So nice
Beautiful -In these difficult times, we Mustn't lose sight of the simpler things in life
Oops, sorry, AND girls!! Old habits and all that. Sorry.
Early start for boys but a privilege worth the sacrifice of sleep.
Love it!
Apt way to welcome the Marian month of May, sublime singing and wise words, thanks to all involved for your time and talent.God bless
Thanks for this on May Morning 2024. Liked the version of Linden Lea
I think this is an innovation - also the song to the tune "Barbara Allen" and the last one. No Silver Swan? That was my favourite. "more geese than swans do live, more fools than wise"
@pingleresearch Have you come across the performance of that piece by "The Gesualdo Six" on their RUclips channel? Originally recorded for "Classic FM" in the UK. Worth searching for!
@@nickdouglass421 Thanks! I found it on RUclips. Beautiful! It's a lovely song, but it's hard to place because although it's considered a madrigal, it is sad, but also has a message that could be called ironic.
@pingleresearch Glad you found it! I believe it was considered as a satirical piece on the state of the political scene at the time! Thus a musical metaphor as such.
Thank you for sharing this morning. Floreat Magdalena.
Happy may to everyone
Greetings from Austria! Home of the St Florian Boys Choir formed in 1071 ( oldest boys choir?) who will be singing a Bruckner Mass on 4 th May St Florian‘s day for Bruckner 200. The village band will be along the road shortly and people will be gathering to climb the May Pole, an activity I think the Magdeline boys and girls would enjoy. All the best for a great day. 😊
Grüß Gott @maxinegonzalez1215 I wish you all a wonderful May 1. down there in St Florian. Your choir is outstanding, and one of the best in Austria. I loved this year's New Year's concert, and the interval film with choristers, Laurenz Oberfichtner and Frederick Derwein, taking us on that journey to discover more about the composer and former Abbey chorister Anton Bruckner. Best regards to you all.
Thank you I will pass on your good wishes.
A lively crew with wonderful vibrant snippets of singing. How can I keep from Singing is one of my admittedly many favourite hymns. I was surprised to learn that itis also a favoured choice of Magdalen College. It came into my life via Quakerism, both the English and USA hymnbook versions. A very suitable choice I would sayas the need to sing/pray for Peace in our embattled World presses hard on our consciences.
Unfortunately no sound 😥
Which prayerbook do you use for Compline?
Unfortunately over half of the service was muted.
can’t hear anything?
Can't hear a thing.
