I finally just about 2 years ago, got to see this band LIVE. The show was BEYOND incredible. IF you can see this band - GO!

I remember when "Tour De France" came out as an EP. My buddy bought it and we jammed to that thing often. It was quite incredible at the time.

As a Kraftwerk fan, this album is not among my favorites. I like some of the tracks, but many of the sounds on this record were already heard by other bands at this point. To me they didn't sound particularly advanced, or delightfully retro-futuristic. However, there is still much to appreciate, just not my fav.

Before this album, they were known as Kraftwerk and had already laid the groundwork for new genres and creative experiments. Starting with this album, they were finally one part of the diverse range of innovative music they introduced to our ears but I feel they were still the most innovative. I vividly recall this album when I was around 11 years old. I couldn’t afford the LP, so when they appeared on TV, I was in awe and tried to memorize and recall in my mind their songs. A couple of years later, my parents took me to ex-Yugoslavia and then Hungary, where I purchased a locally produced copy of their album. It was much cheaper so I could finally justify the investment! I eagerly awaited my return to my hometown to listen to it. It was simply incredible. For those who weren’t alive during those times, they must appreciate the novelty and futuristic nature of these sounds and even the music videos. I was fascinated by computing and was just beginning to learn about it. Computer and music! My youthful crush!

I'm just going to say it: the songs just arent as good as the songs on that amazing run of albums "Autobahn" to "Computer World". the songs are a little too slow in tempo, it feels sluggish. too many songs are lacking in melody, it gets a little monotonous. I like "Electric Cafe" but I dont love it anywhere on the same level as Radioactivity, Trans Europe, Man Machine or Computer World. (I do love The Telephone Call though)

I recently had the idea to play this song on my own from inside a wind tunnel by latching a keyboard to myself with rods to keep it in place while I play. The idea was to simulate zero gravity for the video then go back and put the song over the video in post so the wind tunnel wouldn't be audible. The problem is I can't find any place that will let me bring a keyboard into a wind tunnel lol

I got a Stylophone a few months ago and in the introductory pamphlet they mention that Kraftwerk was one of the many famous users of this instrument. They did mention this song and I truly now want to learn this song.
