Добавлен 10 апр 2023
Hello Everyone, My name is Hunter Outten and I've been doing astronomy for the last 15 years or so from visual observing, hosting star parties, and as of recent astrophotography! For a long time I've spent countless nights under the stars observing and finding new galaxies, nebulas, and star patterns with my large newtonian telescope. I've had a vision after so long to finally bring those findings to life while diving into the hobby of Astrophotography.
This channel will provide my journey into the night sky, equipment reviews, photo processing tutorials, and so much more! So come along for the ride as we photograph the cosmos together!

Destination Stellar Explosion: Eastern Veil Nebula!
Great review ! I liked your casual pace of presentation - relaxing and easy to follow !
My seestar s50 won't connect to the internet, it's unusable...
Really helpful video. Shame you skipped the colour adjustment part as I need to figure out how that works!
Great overview, however the tripod is a joke and no hard case or padded case - chintzy. Has some good "toy" features such as daylight object tracking. Not as good as wide a field as I thought they were going to provide with this scope. Planets/moon are a waste of time. Good wifi hub. Not convincing me to buy though - S50 is better. Chinese language ! LOL. Should have redesigned with equatorial capability to prevent field rotation.
@markbergendahl2651 the retail production version will come with a case. Planetary wise is not the best choice for this but with the night time tests of DSOs this does pretty darn well. But I've always been a fan of wide view astrophotography anyway
❤ I will be ordering some parts from you but I have one question before ordering the battery pack holder what battery pack are you using I've noticed some that are thicker than what it looks like on your holder to make sure that it fits or maybe what size is the holder the inside dimensions so I make sure the battery pack I buy fits
@@jerryeubanks491 Hey there. So this will fit a width of 32mm or about 1.5 inches wide. The depth from the bottom to the top is about 100mm ~4in
Can you possibly add the Askar ColourMagic C1 and C2 filters? Jason has the D1/D2 but not the C series. Thanks!
A brand new telescope and you attack it with a knive to open the battery compartment?....be careful and take care of your things....
it was what i had close by to open the compartment relax... nothing was damaged. Cant use a finger nail to open that area
Don't get it. Zwo is top notch. To get the s30 out of the box that can't be leveled or used without add ons.Reminds me of the asiair that came without a power supply???
Yeah im not entirely sure why but maybe in the retail version there will be something to help with the leveling. In the mean time I got another neewer camera leveler mount like I do for my s50
Maybe it doesn't need leveled?
@@pdub422 It probably relies on horizontal calibration and thus physical levelling is not required
Maybe? Im going into the mindset of my astrophotography rigs and having a level mount and system works the best
I ordered a Neewer Camera level like i have for the s50 anyway which will arrive today just in time for the nighttime test.
That tripod is kind of funny, looks like one i have for my cell phone. But i suppose having a basic stand and No carry case like the s50 is what keeps the cost down. No worrys here. I have several different travel bags the whole box will fit in and just use my s50 Tripod or even a low cost tripod from Amazon. For that price i will be getting the s30 for myself. I really like how compact it is. Thanks for the preview Looking forward to part 2 under the sky
The retail version will come with a case
I was going to say yes the retail version will have a case with it
@@OuttenAstrophotographyok, didn't know that. Thanks!
Yup the review models we got did not include a case and the packaging will be slightly different i'm told via email
Ok, thanks hunter!
Can you do an updated video to include DBXtract and Seti Astro tools. That would be great.
I can do that! I'm still having force closing issues with his stand alone program in trying to work the kinks out of
@ I’m on a Mac and sometimes his statistical stretch crashes on me but his other processes work fine. My workaround is easy, sweet soft stretch or histogram transformation but, the new video from you with those new scripts would be great.
I was wondering why you were screwing on the tripod BACKWARDS ‐ then I noticed the mirror writing on your shirt.
@Outten Astrophotography, Have you used a Dwarf 3 yet? I'm leaning toward the Seestar S50 because of the larger aperture but have considered the Dwarf 3. I already have some accessories of yours in my Etsy cart even though I don't yet own a Seestar. Thanks!
I have not used any Dwarf telescopes myself personally. But from the photos and some that i know who owned the dwarf ll the seestar had way better quality views and images. I'll have the new s30 here relativity soon.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial. A question: Does it make sense to combine Ha with an LRGB instead of RGB? Many thanks
I already saw it once
I have the most recent pixinsight. I think I followed the instructions to the letter but the filters are not showing up in SPCC. I did see they were merged, and I can see them in the filter manager curve explorer has there been a change? Any thoughts
I heard one other person mention that the tripod can be removed and replaced with your tripod. Not sure, but I guess it would have the connection point to accept a different one
thnx this is ganna be a nice birthday present
That was my first question, how do you balance it. Curious. Thanks Hunter.
Very nice result and Thanks for all the videos. I've been assembling my own Rok 135mm kit and am curious if you've had any issues using the L-Quad filter at such a fast focal ratio (do you use f/2 or stop it down?). Also, have you used it with any other filters like the L-Extreme? Thanks!!
With the l-quad I have no issues with band shift at f/2 but when I use my optolong L-Ultimate I have to step the system down to f/4 sadly
@@OuttenAstrophotography Thanks so much for the reply Hunter! I suspected that would be the case for the L-X/U filters; not ideal, but still workable.
I apologize for asking this, but can you tell me how you are connecting your camera/FW to the lens? I'm struggling with back-focus adapters. I think there's 17.5mm to fill after accounting for the camera's back-focus (17.5mm) and the FW thickness (20mm), but I can't tell what you are using and I'm getting confusing input from others. If you have a video on how you did this, you can simply provide that reference (I couldn't find it). Thank you!
Here email me I'll see what I can do there is different back focus depending on if you are using a filter drawer, EFW, etc. Outtenastrophotography@gmail.com
I followed your workflow accurately. Ran data from Cygnus Wall using D1 & D2 filters, four hours each session using plan mode in ASI Air + for accurate alignment of images from both sessions. The combined OIII image was distorted and poorly aligned. I used dynamic alignment resulting in a well aligned image. When I attempted to combine Ha,SII and OIII in LRGB Combination, I got an error message stating “Incompatible source image geometry: Ha<*failed*>. I am stumped. Any suggestions as to why this occurred?
These cameras should not be compared against each other as they don't serve the same purpose: the 678 is for much smaller focal ratio imaging as opposed to the 174 which is typically used for much larger focal ratio (f/30 or higher). Additionally, the 678 does not come with any DDR.
Is the 678MM any good for some DSO's? I got one as a guide cam and to do lunar but I haven't gotten my filters yet. I haven't seen any reviews on this thing really.
Didn't go down too well with people wanting SeeStar to release a S60 or S70. Aimed at the D3 market. Wonder if they'll actually get EQ mode up and running 🤔 or what price tag this'll actually come in at.
No tendras los de banda estrecha de antlia? Ha Olll y Sll ?
Underrated video

Powered saddle is a joke with a puny 3A output!!
Great video, thanks for posting Also there is an interesting story called the Carrington event of the largest solar storm ever recorded in 1859 that caused telegraphs to fail 😮
Amazing! Great capture bro!
Amazing!
Found you from Chucks stream tonight. Don't be afraid to stream without many people to watch. I regularly get around 2 or 3 at a time, or around 15-30 in a 5 hour period. 😃
There is some good information but it is mingled with some images which I think are hype or BS. Not sure whether to believe this or not.
Yep agree. Makes me stop watching and look for better sources
Thanks for the info. I just ordered the $20 kit. Maybe this will help with the street light across the street and neighbors garage lights. I hope the quality is there for a snug fit for the dew shield and the filter holder. Maybe with shipping, it’s a little more than I’d want to spend but still cheaper than buying a 3D printer and figuring out how to run it.
Oh yeah my dew shield fits very snug since I made them a little more thick so ita very sturdy. That's what takes the longest to print out of the set. I can print 4 kits at a time and it takes about 8 hours to complete it. That PETG material I use is super durable and heat resistant. I thought about stepping it up further with the carbon fiber addition but I have to get the right nozzle for that one. Appreciate the support! It really means alot. And of course if there happens to be any issues with any of the products I cover it for free to make it right
Never seen this channel

Your reposoture don't work anymore at least on my case not work everytime it shows that needs update but says there is not a avisarle signature O don't know why
I watched your video on the 10th, explaining that a CME was on the way. I was going out imaging that night and took my dslr as well as my rig. I got 80 ,in on andromida, before I was imaging ditectly into the strongest red I have ever seen. needless to say. my image had a very heavy gradient, that was impossible to remove completely. The Aurora back in my ruined a full night on the Crescent nebula, as the gradient removal took out a lot of the nebulosity. So if there is a possibility of the Northern Lights , image a broadband target
The 13th it will be closest to the earth.
