I went out on mine for the first time yesterday, setting off in mode 2. I stopped along the way and put it down to 3. Scared me like crazy. I’ve had adventure bikes for a number of years, and this is different 😬
@@davewhittleston2963 it is pretty crazy how torquey these bikes are and if you aren’t careful or respect the bike it will end up biting you. Stay safe!

They Both are amazing, I have a gsx-s and my friend has a mt-09!!! Love em both. I started on a mt-07

To me I didn’t see a big difference between mode 1 and mode 2. Maybe mode 1 being a little less smoother in 1st gear
I stayed in mode 3 for the first 600miles, when switched to mode 2 it was like a complete different bike. Saving mode 1 for when I click 1000m 😁

Rooty Pebles is awesome, but in the rain, it's awful. Cost me a derailleur and a few spokes

on blue flow trails im way fast on my specilized 160 then my intense M16. but once i step up to tech or black jump trails nothing like my M16 . was expecting much more of a difference in the times.
@@tristatetrifecta I feel like if I had a stronger side wall front tire I would’ve been faster on my enduro. My dh bike is only 27.5 so the rolling speed on my enduro is much much better.
@@MtbDak i been riding blue mtn. My DH is full 27.5 full cushcore . my enduro is MX also but no front cushcore. Also The dh bike i run schwable addix which are super soft which might slow me down abit compared to the specy with dhf front and rear. Do you have the same tire setup for both ? really enjoyed the video BTW.. might have to try something like that next time i go to the bike park
@@tristatetrifecta my downhill I’m running assegai front and rear with dh casings. My enduro I have assegai exo casing on the front. If I try to push on a turn even a little my tire will start to roll. My rear I just put an assegai exo + maxterra on. Appreciate it! I plan to do this same thing but on some steep techy trails next
That’s sooo steep, it’s a shame it doesn’t show on camera. Amazing trail though 10/10🎉

This place is awesome! I’m kind of local and have been thinking about getting into this type of mtn biking any recommendations of what type of bike to get?
@@kbella215 I absolutely love this place. If you plan on going to bike parks like snowshoe, Bryce park etc I’d say get an enduro bike with 170mm of travel. If you only plan to ride locally a trail bike with 140-150mm of travel will do just fine.
Only thing im hearing bad maybe on the 23 and 24 is this return shift thing? That you cant just downshift to 1 or 2 quickly . U gotta engage the gears in order to downshift or upshift? So what if your in 5th and slow down faster and want to be in say 2nd gear . Wouldnt that be more difficult?
@@LedoGarage401 my quick shifter down and up work great. The only thing I can maybe think of is if you aren’t high enough in the rpms sometimes it doesn’t engage shifting down from 2nd to 1st

@@jackmatt1022 it’s insane how much of a difference the power modes are on it. I think mode 4 is phenomenal for rain mode.

With The stock rear shock can you adjust the settings to make it like a lock out since there’s no lock out just ordered Capra one and found out there’s no lockout this was going to be my bike to peddle at the park with my family also

I did it was hard to resist haha but I didn’t let temptation get to me I’ve worked with cars and bikes since I was a kid and breaking a motor in properly to me is very important
@@MtbDak the dealer I bought mine from told me that every engine from Yamaha gets put on a dyno before going in 🤷♂️ idk I wasn’t out hitting the limiter or anything but definitely didn’t baby it, so far so good
@@Bajaheat most of the time it’s completely fine but I’ve seen some bad things happen initially to bikes so I’m just cautious and do the recommended break in period.

You are correct! No need to remap unless you do an air filter or a straight pipe on these
@@MtbDak my experience on my Akrapovic exhaust At first It has a loud backfire that is very annoying, i check the mid pipe, put some gasket maker. Backfiring and popping gone

@@MtbDak It's easy for me to advocate clip pedals, when I used it hole my now 59 cykling years. I have same XTR Clip pedals on all of my six bikes and all are on the most loose tension postion, that only takes a little twist to get the fot loose😊

Not really. There was a major update in 2017 and it includes brakes, suspension, swingarm, 15% more power - pretty significant.
The worst mistake that many make putting a full system exhaust without doing a dyno tuning
Don’t need a tune unless you are doing an air filter as well or are doing a straight pipe basically this still has a muffler on it.
Just put a knuckle on your wrench extension and the filter is easy to get off.
Have you tune or flashed your ECU? If no, has it been running way hotter without it? Also do you know if this exhaust has a cat?
No flash, doesn’t run hotter at all, and no it does not have a cat
