I have the DELL XPS 15 with the 1050. And I have an AMD 480 laying around. (approximately 50% better performance) You mentioned that it is not worth below the jump from an 1650ti to a 1070 (almost 100% better performance). Would you still go for it or would I get almost the same performance? Especially since I am not planning on using an external monitor... (percentages were taken from userbenchmark)

I followed the steps exactly to add an additional Samsung 970 EVO PLUS. My computer boots up exactly the same as yours. However, in disk management it does not see the new SSD. Clicked refresh and scan drives and it still cannot see the drive. Any thoughts?

Question: is the optical drive a 9.5 mm one? I plan on replacing my default A51R2 dvd drive with a blu ray burner and reader (a Panasonic UJ267). I’ve scoured the internet for info and the 267 is the only drive I found that fits the Area 51. Any advice on the process?

Good review! I picked up the 9500 Frost White refurbished (Tech Outlet Center through Best Buy Marketplace). My only complaint is that it came with the trackpad issue, which means that, contrary to Dell's announcement, post-June 2020 iterations continue to have that problem. Moreover, mine came with the hinge issue; the lid doesn't close completely during transport unless you squeeze the hinges. Because the unit is refurbished, I decided to fix the trackpad myself and live with the hinge issue, which, for me, is no biggie. Were this unit to have come directly from the warehouse, I would've sent it back. However, the savings were just too good ($800 CAD) and I wasn't up for repair and shipping headaches. The laptop is an absolute beast and I love that the white deck has resolved the black carbon-fiber, fingerprint-magnet issue. (I used to own the XPS 15" 7590 OLED, for which I received two replacement units before I got one that was flawless.) Dell really has to step up its game qc-wise. It's reputation as a reliable manufacturer of tech, on RUclips and Reddit at least, has been significantly compromised.

Now I'm scared that i made a terrible mistake.. I have a Dell Precision 3551 with i9-10885H, 64GB of RAM, 2TB of storage, and only a Quadro P620, so now i bought the Core X paired with an 1660 Super. Im planning to run it via the internal display.. Now I'm scared it will suffer. Some people say that it will only use 70% of the GPU, and you now say 85% which makes me alot more happy.. But I'm scared that it will be around 75-80% :( Edit : i didn't receive the GPU yet, it will arrive in 8 days so now im feeling less confident😂

Great video! Two questions: 1. Been hearing different opinions on adding the additional SSD to the second slot and the laptop getting hotter. I just ordered a 256 XPS and purchased a 1GB SSD but my plan was to replace the 256 in slot 1 as opposed to adding the 1TB as you did? Any thoughts? 2. Just to confirm, you are saying upgrading RAM at 2666 should be fine (so I don’t have to stress about finding 2933)?

Hey! Does all models come with vapour chamber cooling? 1660ti vs 2060,which would you suggest. I saw in many reddit threads that rtx is heating up and consumes more battery. I game occassionally (aaa titles like warzone)
