Good work on the build, but as an emt, the way you worked with your router made me shudder. Glad you're okay, but take the extra time to do it safely. Great work
dude you used blue to blue, oh my god i loved it
Sweet guitar porn
loveeellly guitar!!!
Very2 beatiful work!
Oak.. Like Brian May's Red Special guitar.. (The body).🇪🇸👍
Was the back of the neck the same asymmetric and sort-of angular profile as a strandberg's?
Sound levels dude. Can't hear you. Master to -14db LUFS. If you don't know what that means, Google it and learn how to do it.
If you play this standing up the rivets and the square edge on the copper will rip the shit out your arm. If you had pre bent the copper you wouldn't need the rivets.
Good work maybe you can put a plate around the neck pick up
Straight out of the gate I love the look… but is it clickbait??
Roasted maple neck would really top it off, or make existing neck aged...Great job.
Good work, but bad choice on the rivets... It would have looked much better without them...
lol at rivets. Not a pleasant sight at all.
I was actually thinking of doing the same thing with a Chinese Strandberg kit. Hoping to do this soon enough as I’ve never built a guitar before and would love to make my own especially as a Strandberg style guitar. Your design really gives me more of a motivation to do so. Your design is amazing.
Why can't both live edges be kept? I see you went for the 2/3 wood 1/3 epoxy look but hypothetically speaking, could you have kept some of the edges from both ends? If the bark is a part of the edge of the guitar, can it be epoxy'd to stay on?
I suppose this guitar should be heavy as hell
It is pretty heavy, especially for a telecaster, but you can still play standing up
love your style
Very nice, where did you get that top ? o.O
It’s a sheet of copper, and I used a bunch of chemicals to make it look like that
@@horsefighter_69 can i ask you what kind of chemicals you used ? :) thanks
@OverloadGuitars Crimson Guitars has a really good video about it. I used ammonia vapour, salt and vinegar
@@horsefighter_69 super nice, thanks, i will check him out
I cant find this kit anymore :(
I’ve looked all over the internet but I can’t find it anymore either. There is a very similar headless kit on Etsy
@@horsefighter_69 I really need the two point trem. I want to switch out a for a hipshot. I guess I'll just have to break out the router.
@tommcmasters That’s probably a better idea. A Hipshot trem won’t fit without modifications, so you’re better off routing everything from scratch
I hope you have figured out by now to use vacuum bags when doing veneers, this will let you shape it around the contours.
I still would worry about cutting myself on some part of the guitar at some point.
LOUDER!
Hope your thumb is well!
Haha, thanks. It recovered pretty quickly
That is abso-fookin-lutely gorgeous man! Congratulations! Best Regards and Best Wishes!
Wow..keren ist good job
Thanks for this video, I am curing some spalted maple for a couple Telecaster style builds in the Spring. How thick is your piece of spalted beech for your top? It looks thicker than 1/4" ( 6.35mm ). Thank you.
Oh, awesome. I usually use tops around 10mm thick, around 3/8”. Also depends on the thickness of your body, I like to end up with a guitar around 40-45mm thick
Dude. All that effort. The result made me sad. I am sure you got what you wanted, and many would really like it, but damn dude.
You okay man? That look really painful
It didn’t hurt that bad when it happened, it was really bad the next day though. It ended up healing fine, no permanent damage
@@horsefighter_69 that’s good. Reminded me of when I got too close to a spinning down table saw. Still aches some mornings
Yeah, those are some serious learning points
I’m so sorry, I couldn’t help but to laugh really hard when you accidentally routed that audio hole bigger. Definitely something I’ve accidentally done with a router
Seriously, clever recovery on that. I thought you were gonna epoxy it in, but it still looks great
Haha, that’s happened a number of times before. Luckily this guitar’s overall theme allowed this solution, because I have thrown out bodies because of this before
That is very cool. Is it super heavy being oak and epoxy?
It's relatively heavy, but I like the weight
Oh my god tune that thing
Isn't it a bit wasteful to use padouk on the body? Yet you used another wood as a cover. So why padouk?
How was the bird inlays on the fretboard made?
This was a factory neck, but with inlays like this you need a CNC, it's very difficult to do by hand
Looks pretty good. sounds nice as well.
Thank you
Too many questions...
absolutely great !! What a job !!! Thank You !!
How did you connect the pickup holes to the control plate hole? I am currently building and am stuck on this step!
You can buy drill bits that are long enough to reach the control cavity from the pickup cavities. Usually a 6mm will do
просто супер!!!!!молодкц!!идея гениальная!!!!привет из РОССИИ!
I’m jealous of your neck pocket technique. I’ve attempted several, and a tight fit still evades me. Nice work!
Que genial
Very cool video! Love that jig you made for the neck mortise. Definitely learned a few things for when I eventually attempt a build. But when you were hogging out the body and that drill press bit your hand… ouch!
the technique for the neck pocket was sweet brody
Forgot too intonate it there that's probadly the next you'll know then it's time too rock out
Woodglut comes with very useful plans with all the details you need.
Eh, rivets made me cringe a little cus it's wood but whatever ;)
Mine works too. I used the Woodglut plans and performed it without any problems.
. ..respect to you for the build...
