This song is so similar that whoever wrote it was copying the 81checkit out on youtube in my lonely room martha and the vandellas it was one of their B sides that people would play at house parties in black neighborhoods in NY

At lot of us old Skinheads from the 60s massively followed the Northern Soul scene. We were fantastic dancers and just done our thing.. After a Saturday afternoon follwing Chelsea up north, this was a fantasic night- morning. Keep them feet moving.. Wether Stoke or Wigan great nights out.

An old girlfriend of mine gave me a Cameo Parkway demo copy of this track back in 1965 (her dad used to go around changing records on jukeboxes-What a great job!) she also gave me demo copies of Bobby Freeman-S.W.I.M. and Chubby Checker-(At the) Discotheque all of which fetch over £100GBP these days-whew!! Thanks Angie!! The 81 remains one of my all-time fave raves from the days when "Northern Soul" was just " SOUL".

There was a group in Toronto who used to play this song at many of the dance clubs in the 60's. If you were a teen in the 60's you probably know Shawn Jackson and the Majestics, the best dance band inToronto. They could really rock this song. You couldn't help but get up and dance. It's a wonderful memory.

His connection to the northern scene has been well documented good or bad - only the northern followers have tarnished his over popular song "The Snake". So his Playboy lp was a welcomed edition during the seventies and this song of Touch and Go is just a nice seventies arranged and produced record. Rediscovered during 1986 - 1988 this song entitled Touch and Go became very popular with modern soul followers in the UK. And about the same time 1986 Al Wilson's cover version of Show and Tell was to resurface giving a newer version by Willie Clayton a reminder of Mr Wilson's efforts on the Rocky Roads Record label.

There was never a more smelly old toilet like the wigan casino.That place represented everything that is wrong with life : It made an idol out of love which is a gift from our loving heavenly father Jehovah God. Mercifully it was completely destroyed in the early 80ts.

I wa just sweet 13 when I had my first introduction to Northern Soul at The Samson & Hercules and it's just great to see dishy Norwich Soul Boy Billy Wizz showing us all how to do those legendary Spins in his white rigout (159 ish then yet again as the man in black (2.59) - Wow! How cool & how hot can ya get! Loving it from a Soul Gal from Norfolk who's still Keeping the FAITH! :) XxX
