All the catholic channels are denouncing it. Apparently they make the church into a bunch of unrealistic squabbling groups unconcerned for the actual faith but pushing their political agendas. The pope turning out to be a woman would undo everything the church teaches, the church changing to match the new progressive stance would reverse the church’s belief in it’s councils, traditions, and dogmas. All of which would effectively end the catholic church. It’s an anti catholic agenda piece disguised as an intriguing look into a good man trying do the right thing in a nest of vipers. Total nonsense, a caricature of the church, dismissive of her true goals, dismissive of her history and traditions. No catholic in their right mind would support this garbage. That being said im sure the acting, music, cinematography, etc is all top notch. Anything that does damage to the church gets the full hollywood treatment. Disagree? Imagine they made a movie about islam like this.

Hugh Grant really makes it work. He goes on different spiels that are interesting. You can tell he's off,but he's pretty intelligent, but the guy is not normal. It definitely is his best role.

I knew this was going to be a top 5 Horror movie i still think Oddity is better tho and Hugh Grant deserves an Oscar nomination the monologues were so good

It was fun. I enjoyed it and learned about Christmas lore. I never knew about the Christmas witch,though I knew about the Krampus.It's not the worst thing out there.

The movie made me feel a bit frightened when John realized he was in deep space and that he was billions of miles away from Earth 🌍

I don't like prequels that just tack onto classics. I haven't seen it yet, but why didn't they try something new with new characters from inspiration? It just drains from establishing new classics.

Hesher needed that family as much as they needed him. He was a reckless anarchist who brought the kid and his dad out of their misery filled shell. He also identified with the grandmother. She softened him. Even if in a slight sense. He was heartbroken when she died. She provided delicious dinners and an almost motherly or grandmotherly ear. I think she broke heshers “tough” shell

No spoilers…. But imagine that you watch a whodunnit, where four characters are carefully fleshed out along with their possible MO’s. Then in the end, a purple alien bunny rabbit is brought in with a ridiculous and unrelated story. That’s Conclave.

Btw, I was thinking that maybe the air density or quality at 8,000 ft could be what prevents the monsters from going that high. The concept is really intriguing; it’s a shame the movie didn’t turn out as well as it could have.

This sucked. I like Mackie and Baccarin but this went for an R rating and didn't pay off anything.No gore, just f-bombs. Should have named it "A Higher Place."
