Legacy car makers are done with EV’s. Legacy automakers will be gone in 5 years and all that will be an available will be Tesla and China…

It's funny how wrong you are. Have a look at the actual sales numbers year over year. IC cars are loosing and EV's are slowly but steadily taking over the market. The fact that the legacy manufacturers resist change and have consistently failed to invest in technology is entirely their own fault.

I stop at minute 2:00. Can you, or someone from the classical manufacturers, explain why thay cannot produce cheaper? Because they want big profits? Because they are greedy? Why can Tesla (let's put away the boogie man China). produce cheap? Why does BMW have to ask you a tariff for auto pilot or for seat heating? They are doing expensive cars, bad EVs, poor batteries and ranges and do not want to evolve. They have to suffer the consequences. Otherwise there will be no free market and competition. VW had 60% of Chinese market. Now they have, maybe, 10-12%. They did not saw this coming? Then it is a company poorly managed. Any VW employee in Germany has a salary of over 6000 eur per month? Is that normal? Maybe. For them, but they will not be competitive with hundred thousands employees with huge salaries and still producing monsters like Touareg with 3-4L diesel engines. That should end.

The thing with EV cars is that in the time they've been available and I've been in the market for a second hand car I've never seen one in a second hand car dealership. Possibly at a main dealer but I stay away from them.

Trash cars. I really want to see what's going on 5 years from now on. Haha, it's going to be a comedy on service matter. They are not bad, not trash, but expensive and they provide nothing reliable. Tell me of any EV produced that lasts more than 10 years. This comment will age like wine.

Your choice of Beetle convertible is a home made roof chop (many of which are not safe as the strengthening to the chassis was omitted and not a real VW convertible. The genuine one was professionally converted at the Karmann factory.

China builds quickly to flood foreign markets with very low prices. If the sales makes them happy they will continue for as long as possible . If there are massive product failures they will shut down the company and enjoy what they made and stiff multitudes of foreign customers.

If you have access to a Volkswagen bus. Run your inspection down the shaft that comes from the steering wheel to a right angle converter system that allows the shaft to turn left and right and thus turn the front wheels left and right. there's a possibility that that right angle conversion fitting has rusted and maybe rusted out. my son had one and it broke so it wouldn't turn one way or the other. we had to drive it along and push it along and kick the front tire 2 change the direction it was going but it was rusted out and broken. we got a new one glad he didn't try driving it at 50 miles an hour when it broke... It broke in a parking lot maneuvering.

there are other factors less noice pollution is better for animals and human health an can reduce costs of healthcare and construction of sound barriers . the emissions being not produced in city's means billions saved in rainwater clearing hose and window cleaning / painting ,healthier trees that don't have to be replaced that often healthier plant life (leafs not covered in dust are more efficient) produce grown in a garden is less polluted healthier insects (less fine dust) healthier pets less asthma healthier babies and old people most power plants eve coal are more efficient and better filter t then individual cars. if you charge an electric car with a diesel generator it wold still save fuel compared to a diesel car

one piece of equipment that is a glaring omission from ev's is a motor generator set which could reduce greatly the running cost , greatly increase the range and time spent at charging stations , why isn't it fitted ? economic returns , the Gov has to make money off EV's as the shortfall in petrol revenue will be significant, already a special levy is being implemented on EV vehicle registrations in Australia , twice before the electric car has been introduced and rejected as their effect on the economy is devestatng , make no mistake , you will pay for the priviledge of owning an EV eventually
