My Alaska
США
Добавлен 9 июн 2020
Welcome to the My Alaska (Formally Alaska's Last Frontier Homestead). I am located in the foothills of "the Great One" Mt. Denali in South Central Alaska. Come along with me as I build my homestead in the wilds of Alaska. I also have a cabin where I spend a lot of weekends having fun. My remote cabin is completely off-grid and off the road system. My homestead is on-grid and located in beautiful Willow Alaska.

Hello Bill, good to meet you, good luck building, lol.
Thanks John
👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching
Nice views from the cabin. Do you have to worry about Theft there? Looks like a lot of things to disappear .it wouldn't stay put long in Atlanta ,Ga!
Thanks! Theft happens every 1/2 dozen yrs or so but isn't a big concern.
most important - protection what do you use
I carry a 10 MM but don't highlight it in the videos bc the platform doesn't like that.
Love the tour Bill, great off grid Cabin and area around you.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the tour. I'm going to be building some stuff on my homestead this winter and doing some Alaska adventure stuff.
Cute cabin. Congratulations, it looks like this video is really starting to take off.
Thanks Ray. This video and 2 others 3 and 4 videos ago. Finally figured out thumbnail is most critical and then the title.
@ Good to know.👍🏽
The thumbnail gets the viewers attention and then the title basically makes the decision to either click on the video or look for a different video. It's all about the clicks to view.
@@MyAlaska12 What program are you using to create your thumbnails?
@RaisedinAlaska canva
Finally someone that parks close to the door to unload sled
Lol yeah, that's where I park. Why park far away and carry everything in the snow. Lol. Thanks for watching
The house looks great!!
Thanks!
Hey there Bill! Great tour, I don't think I've ever seen the loft. The pull down attic steps are a good idea for the cabin. How do the batteries hold up in the summer heat and winter cold?
@@MattsGarage1791 thanks Matt. The cabin is just so small, the attic ladder was the only option. The batteries are sealed lead acid so the do just fine in the hot and cold.
Thank you for taking us on a tour of your cabin. Must be nice to get away from it all. Lucky you. Enjoy. Take care from Cape Cod✌️🇺🇸
@@charlenegrady8781 you're welcome Charlene. Glad you liked the tour. Yes it's nice getting away
Cool little cabin Bill. Definitely need a door on the solar shed. That would be expensive is someone helped themselves to your generator and solar system. Thanks for sharing
@@AppalachianFarmstead yes I agree but when the door gets put on, I doubt I'll put a lock on it. Very few people up in that area so a thief has days to steal whatever they want.
@ cell cameras
@AppalachianFarmstead I'm looking into getting a couple but even then it won't stop thieves. It is too remote. It would take police over a 1/2 hr to get there if not over an hr.
What is the name of the place that has pizza?🍕
@@TwoBits76 the place is called The Forks Roadhouse.
👍👍 thanks for sharing Bill
@@OldSchoolAlaska you're welcome!
I like your Lil cabin I wish I could see the view in person it's very beautiful ❤❤❤
@@estellaknox9285 thanks Estella. It has a beautiful view and is so peaceful there.
You didn't get to show inside the bar? I wanted to see that pizza. Are you gonna finish off the walls inside cabin?
@@frankepperson5699 sorry about that. It feels weird recording in public. The bar is really nice, I have recorded in there in some of my older snowmachining videos. The pizza is as good if not better than anything you can get in the city.
looked like some one was theretracks to the power shack
@@johnskidmore9020 just myself and a moose. Lol

Nice tour. Thanks for sharing, Bill.
Thanks Brian
Hi bill 👋👋
Hey Liam!
What a lovely cabin and beautiful view. Thanks for sharing it with us Bill.
You're welcome! Glad you liked it.
Thanks for the tour! Building on your legacy!
Definitely trying to. Right now it's a fun getaway place for me.
Thankyou 😊
So glad you like the video
Thanks fir the out Date Bill
You're welcome Tony
Hey there Bill! Do your feet ever get cold? It’s great that the solar system is there and a backup generator. What a beautiful view you have! I’m glad you had a safe trip to the cabin. It was great catching up with you!
Occasionally my feet will get cold if you keep moving or riding then your feet stay warm. Plus my boots/ socks are pretty warm. I'm glad you liked the video.
Very nice, thanks so much for showing us around!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Nice tour Bill
Thanks Tony
Thanks for the tour! Hope you enjoyed your time there. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome Debbie. Glad you liked it.
You have a nice property out there, why would you not build your homestead there instead of Willow? That would be my choice for a permanent residence.
I was considering it but decided to buy in Willow. Planning on a mini homestead at the remote cabin eventually.
Hello bill you have my t shirt on how are you I enjoyed your video thanks for sharing have a great weekend here from Ontario Canada ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶😎
ha ha ha I had to go back and look at what shirt I was wearing. Thanks for watching Mike! Have a great weekend also.
I was going to look into who named that Mountain Mckinley on google to see I was told it was my great uncle William McKinley but I want to find out first
It's named after the president McKinley. But has officially been renamed back to It's original name Mt. Denali.
@ how did mount Mckinley get its name ( The mountain had been unofficially named mount Mckinley in 1896 by a gold prospector and officially by the government in 1917 to commemorate William McKinley who was president of the United States from 1897 until his assassination in 1901) that’s what I was told when I was in my early twenties
Yeah, I heard that
Well done Bill, your life will be a lot easier very soon.
Thanks Ray
hey Bill things are looking good. See you on the next one.
Thanks Tony
Just an observation, Bill.... Unless the area in the cabin you are using for your water system is going to be heated all the time, I see some potential issues with not having all the PEX lines draining to a low point so you can easily drain then when you expect freezing temps inside. For instance, I don't see how the PEX directly above your one way fitting can be drained of water. When I built my cabin, I made sure all lines drained to two common low points so when I opened my shower valves, sink valves, pressure tank, water heater, frost proof hydrant, and water filter, all the lines would drain by gravity and assure me that there would be no water in them to freeze. Just my two cents worth...... Keep having fun! Dave
Thanks for the comment. This cabin is my full-time residence. I have a toyo for heat so I plan it always having heat. Would you send an email to me at LastfrontierCabin@gmail.com? I want to discuss something with you
Hey Bill, is that worries about plumbing?
Just trying to get running water. Lol. Thanks for watching
When you get running water it’s going to go straight to your head. That is once you get your shower hooked up. But just think about all the exercise you’re going to miss out on.
Ha ha very true but there are many other ways to get exercise. Lol
So nice seeing you and other RUclipsrs celebrating at Flat Tire Farm. That's quite a set up you have. Hope you have water in the cabin soon.
It's good getting together with friends. I should have water in a week or so. Thanks for watching
Hey Bill thats quite a complex system! Glad you can do it and simplify your life. (Laughing)
It might not simplify my life but will make it easier lol thanks for watching
Hi Bill, thanks for the shoutout, I follow all those channels, even yours, lol. Thanksgiving was a good time with everyone and the food was great. Watching you working on hooking up water, just makes me want to continue getting running water my way, lol. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for being a good friend John. There's a downside of having running water. Have to always have heat in the cabin.
That's so awesome yas all had Thanksgiving together.
Yes, it was very good. Always good being around friends.
Happy Sunday. Wow now that's some snow. Stay warm.
We're over do for more snow. Trying to stay warm.
Looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving together!
Thanks Debbie, it was fun.
Hi bill hope you’re keeping well 👋

Thanks and yes it's Tony. Lol
I hope you have the water running by now☺
Unfortunately not yet but hopefully within a week or so
I guess Bill doesn't like ski doo
I like both polaris and ski doo. Both make good sleds.
Just what Idid with my Honda. Won't start with fresh gas.
I didn't like starting it in those temps but needed to know if it would. I've changed the oil since and added more gas. It's good to go for this winter.
