Zain is primarily interested in metaphysical naturalism and its prospects. In particular, he is interested in naturalization projects for phenomenal consciousness, intentionality, and rationality. He takes a secondary interest in how these problems have been treated historically, with special focus on the critics of metaphysical naturalism, from Plato to the British Idealists.
