I'm an amateur composer and quasi-student of film scores. I write music to accompany books most often, as well as a few personal home video projects. My favorite composers include John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino, Alan Silvestri, and Lorne Balfe. Please check out my Flat profile; it has lots more stuff on it!
Dark Knight Rises Rescore // Final Chase Scene // New Original Score
I definitely cannot write a better score than Hans Zimmer but this was good practice anyway!

Get Out Now // Lorne Balfe // Arrangement

My arrangement of "Get Out Now" from Dead Reckoning. Really a brilliant piece of music; Balfe is able to capture so much of the stakes and emotion behind the film and this particular scene with it. Dave vs. Hal BUT w/Interstellar Music // 2001: A Space Odyssey
Просмотров 165 месяцев назад
I don't know what to think about the beginning or the end of this movie so I'm choosing to focus on the middle. I thought this scene was cool, but I also think it was supposed to be tense and the lack of music made it dry and emotionless. Elements of it reminded me of the docking scene from Interstellar so I added music and it works a lot better now!
Bad Batch Theme // Kevin Kiner // Arrangement

To commemorate the Bad Batch series finale this Wednesday, here's my arrangement of the main theme. I thought "The Cavalry Has Arrived" was probably the best episode of the entire series and have many other thoughts.
Missing Everybody // Suite from The Catcher in the Rye // Original Theme

Recently I read J.D. Salinger's classic novel and was struck by the sheer musical possibility it offered... the cityscape of New York in the '50s, the complex relationships between characters, the protagonist's heavy burden. So I wrote a theme.

In high school, I used to study listening to this movie. Not its soundtrack: the movie itself. Cleanest version I've ever heard, dude; thank you so much.
Best part of the whole show
Amazing compilation. Keep up the good work!
This deserves a Lot of likes

14:45 best part ever
No matter what they do next, pirates will never be as good as this movie ever again
OMG, thank you so much for this! I've been looking for a complete version of this soundtrack since I watched the movie in the cinema back then. Do you think you could make an extended edit of 'Parlay' from the same movie? It's such a great piece as well but unfortunately, it's so short! 🙏
Hmm I could try. The thing about "Parlay" is that it's a one-off cue; that epic guitar doesn't really play anywhere else in the score. I was able to do this because it's such a long scene with a lot of score that didn't make the main commercial release. "Parlay" would be trickier but I guess I could find other similarly epic versions of the theme that play throughout the score.
9:35 " The Chest. Hand it ovahh ! " " I can set you free Mate " " My freedom was forfeit long ago " And so they clashed for the most epic fight of the century. God I love this part of the music

0:09 “You will listen to me. Listen! The Brethren will still be looking here to us, to the Black Pearl to lead. And what will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? No. No, they will see free men and freedom! And what the enemy will see is the flash of our cannons. They will hear the ring of our swords and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brows, and the strength of our backs and the courage of our hearts. Gentlemen, hoist the colours!”
What did they do to MY ship?^^
“The Chest! HAND IT OVER!” “I can set you free, mate!” *_”My freedom was forfeit long ago!”_*
the part at 2:20 where is it from i need the song bro

One of the greatest battles in movie history! Beautifully put together
I think that goes for literally everything about this sequence. It's the perfect balance of epic, hilarious, and tragic. The cinematography is nothing fancy, just action filmmaking at its finest. This is a thirty minute war scene that in a lot of other films would fail terribly or get cut down to like fifteen or ten minutes, but works so well here because it has the narrative and emotional heft of an entire trilogy behind it. (I keep trying to use these words to describe it and how good it is but it's not really working)
Wise words and I totally feel you mate. 😙
I enjoy small scale mid budget films, but sometimes, grand epic finale trilogy like this is worth dying for
Especially when it's done right - this and Endgame are the only two that are actually coming to mind as supremely satisfying to me at the moment. The Star Wars trilogies all try to do the same thing but it inevitably fails because their best battles are always in the "middle" moves
@@robertoblongI personally thought return of the Jedi had amazing battle scenes.
I'm blasting this at full volume lol
Zimmer writes with his speakers set up in the movie theater surround sound system and with the volume set to something like 80 decibels - which is I think the maximum theater systems go to? He's the only composer I know who writes specifically for it to be played really loud
I've heard of instances where playing it louder/with different speaker set ups actually brings out previously unheard frequencies or different sounds in the mix
I too, so you're not the only one.
15:06 OI! My pistol
This is actually such a perfect musical callback... it starts with an oscillating half-step ostinato that originated from CotBP before moving into a pretty sweet version of Jack's theme. I think it's cool how quickly Zimmer is able to change the tone of these action cues - he can go from dark and worrisome to heroic on a dime and it doesn't sound wrong.
@@robertoblongthis whole 30 minute sequence is film music euphoria and such a key part of my childhood
22:19 is my fave part, one of the saddest ends..😞😞😢🙂❤️
Mine too. This masterpiece still BREAKS my poor little heart for the past 16 years. 😌😌
First of all, I love this! I love listening to the movie versions of scores and following them along in my head. I want to try and list all the timestamps of the most important moments that I can from the greatest movie finale of all time. 00:11 "Then what shall we die for?" 1:10 "Hoist the colours!!" 2:13 "Tell Jones to give them no quarter. That should brighten his day." 2:30 "Kaylipso...." 3:25 "MALESTROM!" 3:29 "Barbossa, we need you at the helm!" 4:00 "Raise the yard you kackheaded deck apes. Dyin' is the day worth livin' for!" 4:20 Epic shot of the Durchmann and Black Pearl moving towards the malestrom. 4:35 Black Pearl begins to ready her cannons. "Keep that powder dry!" 6:15 Flying Dutchman deploys her cannons. 6:37 "FYAHHHHH" 8:12 "Leverage" 8:37 "Lookie here. A little byerd who never learnt to fly" 9:00 "To my great regret. But, never to late to learn, eh?" 9:23 "I can set you free, mate" 9:34 "My freedom was lost a long time ago." 10:47 "Elizabeth, will you marry me?" 10:51 "I don't think right now is the best time." 11:11 "Barbosa, marry us!" 11:17 "I'M A LITTLE BIT BUSY AT THE MOMENT" 11:49 "Dearly beloveds we be gathered here today..." 12:57 Will and Elizabeth kiss. 13:21 This isn't a very important moment, but musically, IT IS THE COOLEST PART OF THE SONG. Bringing back the combat motif from The Dead Man's chest is just so good. 13:55 "You can do nothing without the key" 14:35 Davey Jones breaks Jack's sword. 14:44 "Oi. My pistol." 18:46 Davey Jones stabs Will. 19:33 "Tell me, Mr Turner. Do you fear death?" 19:38 "Do you?" I also want to point out that the music takes on a rhythm which sounds like a heartbeat as soon as Jones' heart comes out of the chest. 20:18 Bootstrap Bill attacks Davey Jones 20:40 Davey Jones dies. 21:04 The Black Pearl begins to win the fight. 21:56 "The Dutchman must have a captain." 22:18 Jack and Elizabeth escape the Dutchman. (I never realized how beautiful this bit was.) 23:21 The Black Pearl and HMS Endevour move towards each other, ready to battle to the death. (This part is just so epic) 25:17 The Flying Dutchman emerges, under the command of Will. 25:25 The Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman surround the Endevour. 26:15 "Orders Captain?" "Fire." 26:42 "It's just... good business." 27:54 Cutler Beckett dies LMK if I got any of these wrong. I'm sure some are mis-timed or messed up somehow. I did my best lol.
Holy crap that's incredible
Funny how Sony blocks all the Mission music from being played in Russia.
So... wow. Seems like a lot of people like this. It has the most views on my channel by a light year so 😃thanks guys. Also, shameless plug... please PLEASE check out the other stuff I've got published!!! I love this movies, the first trilogy, te 4th its ok !! I´m making modelships of all ships from the movies, i´ve allready finish the black pearl and the Dutchman. Now im making Queen anne´s revenge.
15:09
This is one of the rare times Zimmer uses Jack's arrival theme in DMC and AWE (usually he uses the new Drunk Jack waltz or the cello lines from CotBP) and it sounds fantastic in this setting.
@@robertoblong Yeah this part rlly stood out to me during the scene and been looking for it everywhere
Without doubt one of the most perfect, epic scores in all of cinema history.
YESSSS
I loooooove Graces'actress !! ♥♥♥♥♥
25:48 "Orders, sir????"
There's a lot about Beckett's death scene to like. One of them is definitely that poor officer's face when he realizes Beckett's lost it.
Yes but militarily speaking he does the right thing. Superior doesn't give an order and isnt going to, he immediately takes over and gives the order to evacuate
"It's just good business"
Underrated video. I don’t know how you were able to edit all the movie sounds out of it and just keep the music but you did an excellent job. I’d love to own one of these
Mwah ha ha... my secrets are mine to keep.
HA! You afraid to be a trend?
11:43 "Dearly beloved, we be gathered here today... To nail your gizzards to the mast, you poxy cur!"
Awesome job, matey! I'll be using that one at the gym tonight :) one of the greatest musical segments in any film
Ha. I've used it on runs before. Pretty pretty awesome.
17:25 my favorite part <3
The way Zimmer interpolated themes and action material from the other films all through this sequence is a masterclass in writing. I am in awe.
the people who watched this movie in the big screens so lucky
Any movie is better in the theater, but these big epic finale sorts of things are to die for
There still has not been a single movie that made me feel the same experience as watching this in Theaters. Not even Endgame. This final battle was just a whole other kind of experience for me as a kid.
ME too when I was 18 and that experience is MINDBLOWN. 😈😈🔥🔥🔥⚓⚔️🏴☠️
Yep. I remember when Will was made to stab the heart of Davy Jones and everyone went "YES!!!" when the heart was finally stabbed and then immediately went "NOOOO😮" when it revealed that Will stabbed it, since the movie revealed that whoever killed Jones would take his place whether they wanted to or not
9 year old me was in shock and awe about it.
2:56 love Beckett's theme battle version
There's a full suite somewhere out there of all of Beckett's themes which is absolutely magnificent. You can also here the trumpets/horns carrying the "Hoist the Colours" melody over top of it.
@@robertoblong Heard the full suit before, Beckett's theme is underrated and my favorite from potc franchise
@@Leorics-mf2jz It's definitely top 5 for me, just edged out by the Hoist the Colours theme and maybe a few others.
9:52 is my favourite part
YES, me too (well, no, I have like six different favorite parts). This is probably actually the best rendition of "Hoist the Colours" from the score, though it's sadly short. This variant gets a slightly extended playthrough in the latter half of the "Hoist the Colours Suite (Album Suite)" cue from the recording sessions.
6:37 FIREEEE!!!!
When it hits the triumphant theme at 7:02 (accompanied by a long shot of Will running up the nearly-vertical deck of the Pearl) I always get tears in my eyes. ruclips.net/video/bd65v5FauXk/видео.html 😭I love this film and this battle so much.
FIREEE ALLL!!!
