Hi, thank you for your job. Here’s my performance of this sonata. Wish you best in you career 🎹👏🤓 ruclips.net/video/MiCyMDJMc94/видео.htmlsi=KfWnnRMJ-w98hoPj
this needs to be talked abt more cause wth
Not 1893... but 1793! Please correct that.
Thanks for this precious analysis 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
53:14 After so many years wondering if Beethoven changed the rhytmic pulse on purpose or not, I now finally have an answer. I always felt that listening to it in the correct way was the most difficult but it makes sense. Sneaky of him to put in those auditory illusions :-) Great video
can u plz do the second mov?
1:20:49 how can a c eb gb be vii of Db? is it because its a respelling of vii7?
22:41 If I’m not mistaken, the highest note on Beethoven’s piano was F6.
Yes

What this video missed is what it means to say that Finale cannot be authorized on any computer after one year from the announcement of its demise. This means the company is not giving its users any means of opening up their own data. That is a horrible deal, one that would never happen were the application open source. Let this be a lesson to those who STILL think proprietary software means safety. There was no need for the company to do that. They could just release a final version that doesn't need activation, for instance. Unfortunately, the alliance between the company and Steinberg means Dorico gets new users as soon as possible and Finale also disappears completely from the world as soon as possible. And the user is treated in a adversarial way. Instead, a company that actually cared about its users would open up the code. The company has already said that's unlikely to happen, of course. So you have one year to convert all your Finale projects to MusicXML. Now suppose you forget to do one of them. You only find out 6 years later. Now you are in a bad place. Good luck opening your Finale file in a legal and safe manner. MusicXML, by the way, is a disappointing interchange format. MEI is better but needs more support in notation apps.
Thanks a lot for all the background info. Very interesting!
Its been a nice 11 months. Nice video
Thanks, very informative.
personally, i'd bump up number 1, 2, 9, and 24. Number 24 is S tier simply for the first movement, the second can cease to exist and I wouldnt care that much, but the first one is absolutely amazing. Overall nice list though, the S tier ones definetely deserve that spot, cant argue with those..
No 1, 3, 7, 9, and 13 derserve better!!! but interesting takes...dig it. No but fr the 2nd mov. of the 9 is soo deep for me and the 13th is a masterpiece!! I was shook when you ranked it hahaha. The 4th mov. of the 13th just drives...like crazy!! Nice video.
number 9 is one of my favourites for some reason, and number 3 is also excellent
Great tier list!! Really enjoyed it :) Its so relatable that you also think that the 2nd mov. of the early sonatas arent thaaat captivating. Thats why i really enjoy the 6th sonata which im studying right now :) Subscribed!
You saved my days from trying to stop tempo alterations made randomly due to human playback settings (it interprets and fluctuates even constant tempos)

Awesome video man
Hello, thank you, this helped me! However, I would like to know how you made this transition in group of 16 notes between staves in first bar. Can you explain this for me please? Also, this is maybe an idea for a new tutorial video?? Thank you!
"I'm so sick of hearing tonic-dominant" Bro hasn't heard Mozart 💀
Hey man, are you alive n' kickin?
Thanks for checking in - - I'm doing great! I've been away for a while living my life as I do RUclips for fun. I haven't decided what I should commit to on the channel but I'll be back soon!
@@TrebleWoofer1 Awesome, nice to hear that you're doing great. These videos are always a joy to watch :)
22 is awesome! What a novel piece. The first movement is mocking old fashioned composers. 11 is one of my least favorites actually. It's hardly ever played.
The Ingenious 11th is objectively better than anything chopin ever wrote.
@@ultimateconstruction well I disagree there
As long as Hammerklavier is first, this tier list is extremely valid.
He's incorrect about many of them. Him calling slow movements boring says a lot about his intellect and attention span. He couldn't even be bothered to give a listen to No.19, because if he did he would put it at least in high C tier. But no, he sees the "Op.49", then neuron activation happens and he goes "I'm not listening to this". Nos. 13, 16, 22, 3, 2, 7, 15, 4, 11 must be higher. The horrible 14th must be way lower.
15 is one of my favorites
Thanks for the great analysis! I'd like to know your thoughts on the second chromatic descending passgae (7:03 approximately): the sound track plays it chromatically, as the first and third descending passages. Yet, the sheet reads differently (and poorly, as I see it): I don't dislike the flat E in the first bar (but I miss it later on!), just as I like the natural C and the flat B towards the end (which I miss in the previous bars, though). Any thoughts? As for the "missing" G sharp towards the end of the piece: I'd be nice to the printer and consider it sufficiently marked by the previous G sharp in the same bar :)
Very clear, useful and didactic video!
Not a bad tier list, but I strongly disagree with No. 22 being that low.

Love your videos! Only critique I have is not enough Tool reviews. P.S. Your Tool reviews make me want to play the piano 🎹. Great work!

I get delays in some of the notes when using Finale player. Using the space key works fine. When exporting it sounds with the delay.
After only a few minutes, you really caught my attention, since you mentioned Tovey (whose Beethoven editions I use). This was, of course, in connection with your Wikipedia adventure and since, at this point, I was listening and not watching I was completely caught off guard when you started talking about guillotines and the Revolution, since you made no mention that the person's 'review" you were talking about was someone other than Tovey. I had to watch again and saw that you highlighted the person's name and kept waiting for you to mention them.... but you never did. I get what you were doing there, but it just threw me and I had to mention it. As to the sonata itself... it's THE sonata that I just don't get. I can play it, but I don't understand what he's conveying here at all. I've spent a lifetime with the 32 and while the other 31 make sense to me, this one has always escaped me. I think that's the case for most, which is one good reason, as you say, it's everyone's least favorite. It's crazy interesting to learn it (and it's anything but easy), but to actually understand where LvB is coming from... I don't know. It's, definitely, Beethoven, at his most idiosyncratic. I, certainly, don't see Tovey's description of the material being child-like or dog-like. It's interesing to note that in the very same sentence Tovey says "... rather than with the childlike character portrayed by the music.", he precedes that with "the whole work is profoundly humorous, with a humour that lies with the composer..." I think he captures things best when he says it "lies with the composer"... whatever that may be, but, at least for me, it's not humor.
Tempo not working 🤔
How about to make video-analysis of Mahler music? He probably one of the best composers in history.
Why is this so difficult in Finale? I have to come back to this video every time I do it.
You expanded my knowledge and appreciation of this song to an absolute. This song alone goes 1000%. It’s calm, and aggressive. It’s great
Great jon but wish you would have talked about the time signitures more alot of the time itll seem like 2 bars of like 6/8 and 7/8 but rhe drums will imply its one bar of 13/8
quarter/eighth note triplets are ubiquitous in sheet music; you'd figure the #1 professional notation software in the world would have a simple way of doing this, but no.
So fucking good is right!!! This song has brought me to tears more than once. This album is a true masterpiece. TOOL ARMY forever!!!❤❤❤❤
my new lord, thanks
Brilliant! Thank you! (Turn triplets off before you enter the quarter note.) It's a bit awkward, but it works in Finale v.27.
You made my day! I've been searching for two days trying to find a video that shows how to do this and YOUR video worked for me! Brilliant video! Thank YOU for sharing this!
I really liked this. It takes a lot for me to stay past a 12 minute reaction/breakdown but very good analysis.
Helpful, thank you !
I enjoyed it! I hope you will continue this series or upload more videos like this in the future!
Ctrl+Alt down just moves the bar to the next page for me.
Thank you so much for analysing this masterpiece. I was in constant search to understand about this song which ended today with your efforts. Thank you so very much sir
how do you create an alternating tremolo in the first place?
