Visiting the Târgu Mureș Medieval Castle (@ Târgu Mureș, Romania). Oct. 2023
Просмотров 22День назад
While in Romania, I didn’t have a lot of time to sight-see and this came up that wasnt more than an hour drive away. We took a quick tour of the Medieval Castle located in Targu Mures (central Romania). It wasn’t a long tour but the castle was neat to see. Nowadays the town uses it for fairs and city events. If you are in the area, it’s definitely worth an hour stop.

I hiked Mt. Timpanagos with Clark (blue-merle Border Collie) on this 16 mile or so round-trip hike to a famous Wasatch Mountain summit hike located near Provo, Utah. You gain over 4000 ft elevation gain and go through many varied landscape scenes. Near the summit, we got close to some Mountain goats which had a stare-down with Clark, but as he was in a leash, he looked back and then ignored the...

      Technically it's in Snow Canyon State Park. If you google for GPS coords, you can find it. But you have to park on Bluff road and take a path to it. There is no official path. The park doesn't want an official path to discourage people from randomly finding it and destroying it.

    Thank you SO Much for this video! It really helped to see THIS river! In my opinion, it's just NOT worth the higher risk of poking a hole in or ripping a thin tube & the anxiety/panic it can cause. Many people may not be experienced enough to deal with it more calmly & safely. If people have to buy tubes, buy heavier duty tubes meant for river tubing, Not the cheap thin "$5," tubes meant for pools. Note in the video how they handle it when/ If you come off the tube & can't easily get back on, DON'T PANIC, hold on to your tube & float til you're calm & in an area you can get back on it. The ropes on the river tubes make it so you & others can hang onto your tube & it also makes it easier to get on if someone is helping by holding your tube. Stear clear of the bridge supports as much as possible. Wearing 3/4 length sleeves helps prevent tube rashes on the upper back of your arms from paddling.

    • @TheDiabeticHiker
      @TheDiabeticHiker 2 месяца назад

      Of course - happy to hear that it helped! And it's different now from this year due to the bridge replacement, you have to pay a fee to park, etc. But your advice is spot on. Thanks for sharing that.

      Ya, I would say 5.1-5.4. It’s hard to say for me. You could do it as a 4, but it’s realistically more of a 5.4 in some parts. That wall is huge and you get to choose your own route. Our path was closer to 5.4 although some might be a little easier at 5.1. If it looks to difficult, there are easier options nearby most of the time. And the steepest parts are near the bottom to middle sections. Higher up it changes back into class 4. Hope that helps

But it was fun and I'm proud that I conquered it because this and the Catapult have always been the scariest rides to me. One of the next times I go, I might try the Catapult lol. I'd do this again, but I think pulling the cord ruined me for letting anyone else do it now 😂 And when you almost faceplant on the platform and they tell you not to attempt to catch yourself, that's the ONLY warning they give you. I wasn't expecting that at all!

Probably 40-50 degree water in those potholes that you initially swim through. With just a wetsuit during that time, I’d say that’s the bare minimum.
