How to create CUSTOM LIVERIES in iRacing | FULL Workflow WITH SPEC MAPS!
Hi y'all!
This time I wanted to show you guys my workflow for creating your very own custom liveries. I'll give you a step by step guide, that will help you to understand how you achieve the results that you're aiming for!
Also we will explore all the necessary techniques required, in order to create spec maps for you car, so you have full control of how the materials look!
Maybe @iRacingOfficial will add more features in the future, so this workflow becomes obsolete one day but until then, this works really well for me and hopefully for you guys too!
Let me know what you think of the workflow and maybe we'll see each other at the Simracing Expo 2024 in Dortmund - I'll be there on Saturday, O...

    Listen i love my simagic ultimate wheelbase and my gt neo but I feel the gt neo is overhyped in the way people expect this wheel that's as quality as high end wheels but for 300 dollars. The grips are horrible. The buttons feel cheap but yes clicky. The shifter paddles are def not close to other simagic wheels. Its ergonomics are def good but yeah it's a budget wheel and feels like one to me. I compare it to my fanatec mclaren wheel and they legit feel like they are on the same level yet fanstec has better buttons lol. So idk I love my fx pro though now that feels like a higher end wheel even if alot more. Just saying gt neo is great but I wish expectations were placed in a more realistic aspect.

    I have 1 year with this wheel and it's ok. The thing is that I refuse paying 700+EUR in a wheel, so this one was perfect for me. Everything is good, just the shifters noise that are absolutely annoying.

    Man, I really didn’t like it as much. I’ll take the Alpha mini over the entire moza line up any day of the week. With the price drop. The Neo+Mini+P1000 is a chefs kiss. I like it more than Asetek, la prima. The Moza is just not it. The software is 100 times better than simagic but the hardware feels lacking. It heats up after awhile and smells burnt. The pedals are ehh. Still a good product. Just comparing them to current market pricing. You could get something more raw. Moza is popular. They are selling a ton of units. Just don’t think it’s the better product. Idk man just my two cents, no hate just my opinion. Good work! Keep it coming.

    I got this WB earlier this year after many years of dealing with Fanatec quality issues with multiple V2.5s and DD2s. This base is the gold standard IMO. It just works and it works very very well. I'm not a huge fan of overcomplicating something that doesn't need to be complicated in my rig ( even though I have a very complex rig) but a steering wheelbase is one of those things IMO. I haven't even fiddled with settings much at all. Got a profile from a friend I trust and I just drive it. The QC is perfectly fine. Rock Solid and simple. The fact that this thing come with nord lock washers is all I needed to know about how seriously Simucube is about fundamentals. Nice presentation. New sub.

    It's def def still gold. It's the standard for sure but god they need to come out with a new one. Everyone has caught up pretty much and numbers don't tell you everything many don't matter on real world feel or performance. Like the sensors lol. Once you are at 12bit you can't tell anything over that. It's time for them to come out with a new wheelbase for sure. Now even competition racers have been moving to simagic more and more and others like it. Even the new vnm 32nm wheelbase is really getting hype for high high end users. Everyone who has compared them to all the wheelbases or main competitors have said it may have 50% more detail then other bases which has blown my mind. So yeah lots of competition coming and happening now. So it's time! Come on simucube let's goo! P.s. I still like simucube more then asetek in acc. I main acc and asetek feels off not natural there. Something about it no matter the settings. Software and there processors clearly change alot because they don't feel similiar to me. Simucube and simagic are my favorites at the moment. I main the ultimate from simagic.

    • @slaphead90
      @slaphead90 23 дня назад

      One thing that most people overlook when discussing the sensors in DD wheels is that they are primarily there for motor control. The more precise the sensor the more precision with which the motor can be controlled. It really is a secondary task of the sensor to provide wheel position information to the game, which can only be a max of 16 bits anyway due to the limitations of direct input. You're right in that you probably wouldn't notice more than 12 bits in terms of game input, but in terms of motor control it makes a hell of a difference.

    • @CKSimRacing

      @reviewforthetube6485 yeah as far as I've heard, they're cooking something new, which is gonna be released on 10th of October and I'm pretty sure it'll be a new wheelbase. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance yet to try out asetek or simagic wheelbases. But I'm pretty certain, they're all pretty close in terms of feel. @CKSimRacing 25 дней назад

      @John-ok8ts Hey there and thanks for your comment. For the recording, I've placed the microphone directly behind the wheelbase, so what you can hear in the video is not what you'd perceive when sitting in your rig. I wouldn't go as far to say that it's completely unnoticeable but comparing it to the audible sounds from the shift paddles, the pedals and the rig itself while it's suffering the sheer power of the SC2 😄 its pretty negligible. It surely depends on how sensitive you are but at least, when racing, I don't even notice it at all because I'm highly concentrated on other sounds like rpm and tyres. I hope that helps!

    Coming from trustmaster TS-PC into MOZA R9 + KS wheel. Yes, there is a difference between belt driven and direct drive. BUT!...the forces per game are just the same. A DD wheel does NOT create the game FFB force. If a game lacks physics translation into FFB while under or oversteer, a DD wheel wont "create" those forces. The game devs should program it. So do not think a DD wheel will give you forces you did not feel before. The wheel can amplify but cannot create. All by all: very happy with the MOZA R9. Coming from TS-PC 6,5 NM running at 75%, 9NM from de R9 is more than enough for me.

    • @CKSimRacing
      @CKSimRacing Месяц назад

      Hey there and thanks for joining the discussion! Absolutely true, the game telemetry is responsible for what you're feeling in the ffb and a DD won't give you more of that. The main difference that I remember between both systems was definitely the response time. The DD motor is just superior against the belt driven design in terms of performance. And yes, 9Nm is plenty and will probably be more than enough for most users. Congratulations for your R9!

    • @CKSimRacing
      @CKSimRacing 2 месяца назад

      @realVRS Hey again, I actually took my time to think about this, hence the late answer. If you guys would offer something like simagic does with their haptic pedal reactors, that would be insane as an addon! Even though I actually love the looks and don't mind too much about the slip of the pedal faces, it would be great to have optional ones that are slightly textured and a bit grippier. Another thing that would be great as an addon is to maybe have the option to put an elastomer behind the brake spring, to have a bit more of a dampened feel at the end of the brake. But that's a little bit of a double edged sword since I actually chose the VRS pedals over others because it doesn't rely on elastomers or other working parts that might fade over time. Regarding adjustability: having something like thumb screws in order to adjust the pedal faces or the throw of the pedal arms would make life a little easier as well, so I could make my adjustments on the fly without the need of tools. If you guys already have something in the making, please feel free to reach out to me. I'd be happy to test your products!

At the same time im starting to notice, that im carrying quite a bit of responsibility but I'm still convinced that this is a product you'll buy once and only once! Unless the previous owner hasn't kicked them on a daily basis on purpose, they'll be just as good as new! Thanks a lot for your sub, highly appreciated 🙏

    Do they still overheat and cut at 7nm?

    • @CKSimRacing
      @CKSimRacing 2 месяца назад

      Short answer, yes, though I can't confirm whether it cuts at 7Nm. The long answer can be found at 16:30 in the video. Once dialed in correctly, it doesn't cut the power anymore and it won't clip as well

    I have two great GT3 wheels, but yet i don't know why i need the GT Neo badly, maybe just the way it looks

      Haha, well, some folks are collecting rare coins or post stamps. As long as it fills your life with joy, why not 😊 To be honest, I have bought it purely because of all the features and functionality. Looks wise I think it's decent, but not the most beautiful wheel. I like the RGB lighting a lot though!

    Hey! I just wanted to let you know that newer versions of Moza R9v2 actually have front mounting now.

    • @CKSimRacing
      @CKSimRacing 2 месяца назад

      Oh really? I checked the product description on MOZAs website but I couldn't find any info about that after reading your comment. It would be quite nice if they'd add the option for front mounting for sure but power output wise I think the R9 is gonna be fine when it's bottom mounted

    GT neo kills this wheel

      Nah mate, this wheel kinda kills GT Neo. The saving of GT Neo is the usb connection for other wheel base.

    19:58 ...... Yes alpha mini "V1" 13 nm , but the following models have 10 nm. The difference seems to be in the power supply 😉

    I have this wheel since its release and been using it with alpha mini base. Only drawback I noticed that I find the grip material hard and it gave me blisters. I dont really have death grip by the way. It is just stiff material. I didnt have this issue with the FX wheel. I tried sparco karting gloves, not much has changed. But Moradness gloves solved my problem due to the padding inside the palms. For me that’s the best combination. Aside from this, it is an amazing wheel no issues at all still looks like day 1.

      Ouch, getting blisters while racing is a thing I only ran into while Karting, because the G's throw you around and even with gloves you'll get blisters but yeah I always use gloves and didn't get any fortunately (during sim racing)! Good to know that Daniels gloves are padded on the inside, I really like the available designs as well! And yes, I agree, the wheel is phenomenal regarding it's price

    Really enjoy your channel, just stumbled on it! I really wanted a NEO, but since I has Moza R9, I got a slightly used GS for $200 and didn't want a cable dangling from a NEO.. GS has real CARBON, much stronger than a injection molded "simulated" carbon which can crack.

    • @CKSimRacing
      @CKSimRacing 3 месяца назад

      Hey there, I'm glad you like the content, thank you so much! Well, having a GS for just $200 is a good deal. The GS is pretty solid overall and I couldn't really find any flaws except a little bit of creaking after using it for a while but that's negligible. And yes, I agree - even if the GS would get a crack it would still work just fine except it get's broken in half. If the GT Neo breaks, it would be done for good I guess. But so far it's showing no wear and goes strong fortunately :)

    Also, the hub is as gud or even better than other DD costing many times more $$$. No proprietary BS!

    I went from R5 to a R9++GS formula wheel+ Fanatec V3 pedals+Dash unit.....I will NOT be uipgrading anymore! I run R9 @ 40-45% strength...any more it's too strong to steer and much more than a real car!

    • @CKSimRacing
      @CKSimRacing 3 месяца назад

      Haha I've said that multiple times to myself regarding NOT upgrading anymore. But hey, you've got a really nice setup and basically, as long as it works and you are satisfied, having fun and improving in your races, there seriously is no reason to upgrade! Also having more Nm won't make you faster. Yes, there are stronger wheelbases and yes some are having more detail and such but the only thing that matters is that you are happy with what you have :)

    The cogging is because it is not true servo motor... Closer in structure to a stepper motor. Open it up and you can count the poles. So yea like i said, a lot of questionable product claims. And this extends to a lot of their other products.
