Having watched the film, I think they could have made her character more nuanced if they changed her motive for aiding the cartel boss. Maybe make her mother doing it because her child was kidnapped or needed the money for some cancer treatment. But that would have involved changing the dynamics of the story and adding another plotline.

Her 2005 leading role in "Memoirs of A Geisha" was stunning. The movie itself is a classic with so many incredible Asian actors like Gong Li, Ken Watanabe and Michelle Yeoh giving memorable performances. John Williams did the score, cinematography was pure art, and the story takes me to a different, hidden and mysterious world.

I think Dalzollene chose Kurapika and the others to be on the lookout because he finds them to be better fighters (except Melody, who was useful for her hearing ability). Too bad she died though.
