I feel that the 3 judges kept forcing the poor guy into what THEY wanted him to be. He should have just stuck with how how looked and sang! Those 3 ruined it!

His first audition was so good that it was tough for him to rise above it. I felt the criticism that his voice flattened out sometimes was accurate, but there was no doubt in my mind that he's a great singer n performer! The comments about him being cocky n overconfident certainly shook his self-confidence. But as I was not backstage during the show I really don't know if they were accurate. However I don't feel the judges who said so would have had that opinion if he didn't come off as a little cocky, esp coz his first performance was so good. But he took their criticism 'on the chin' reined in some of his exuberance, and gave performances that mark him as a rising star... Bravo Danyl❤

I didn't get the sense at all that he's cocky. I got the definite sense that he wasn't happy with his performance. I didn't care for the performance but he brought it home. In terms of likeability(did I spell that correctly) I think he absolutely has what it takes. I'm listening to the second song. I don't care for the song choices they're giving him at all. He went off key. Someone else should pick the songs!

There's no doubt that Danyl is a great guy. His students loved him, he has lots of friends, his mom said he's always been such a giving person and his sister said he's so deserving of winning. I loved his audition. I love Simply Red, so I think he did a terrible job singing one of their songs in his second audition. I'm wasn't surprised that he was put through, though, because he has the makings of a star. I agree that he was oversinging too often in the first several songs, but when he threw the mic stand to the floor after that one song, I laughed. I didn't see it as being cocky. I think he needed to be adjusted a little because his overconfidence was making his singing worse. I noticed during several performances that it wasn't until a minute or two into the song that you finally recognized the song, so he has pitch problems and seemingly bad guidance. When Dani made that comment about, "If you believe what they read in the papers, then maybe the gender difference really wasn't," I would've loved to have been there to smack her in the face, and I am not a violent person. It was as if Dani and Cheryl were against him either because they discovered he was gay or because he didn't end up on their teams, or both, so Dani must've loved that her girl got the last spot in the final. Even Louie surprised me at times. I was so sad to see that headline asking if he was the most hated contestant ever. That was so cruel, and I think Dani and Cheryl and their changed attitudes and constant criticism had a lot to do with that. The audience there always seemed to like performances that even I wasn't thrilled about, and the tv audience kept voting him through. I think if he'd sung the song he sang after being voted out instead of the actual last one during the competition, he would've gone forward. I think Simon made some major mistakes by having him sing too many ballads. When he sang the up-tempo one and danced, that was one of his best performances. He's too energetic and entertaining to be singing constant ballads. More up-tempo one would've served him better so that he wasn't oversinging like in some of the ballads. I hope Simon has recognized that he made some major errors himself because Danyl did deserve to be in the final, although I didn't see all the other singers or all of their performances. Of all of Simon's talent shows, the X Factor was my least favorite and apparently others', too. Oh, when Simon had to get permission for Danyl to sing Whitney's new song that was on her newest album that hadn't been released yet, I was shocked that Clive Davis was with Whitney and she was as high as a kite. Did anyone else notice? Bobby Brown was so bad for her. Apparently for his own daughter, too. Why did Clive never try to get her some help? I still love her voice to this day ... the recorded one from the first 2-3 albums. After that, the drugs began taking their toll, so her successful career was short-lived. She'll always be remembered as one of the best singers ever, though, rightfully so.

How can we ruin someone's ambitions with a few insulting words? It's an extraordinary voice. I loved his tone of voice His covers from the first audition.One of the best I've heard. The delight of his voice. A showman. They didn't understand anything. This boy has a gold bar. wow!! rare. Powerful, a bit of a crazy horse but who controls everything. AWESOME. A sacred monster. I Adore Danyl. He is hyper active, needs to give his all to what he does. He is also an immense performer who must move to feel vibrate. His loving warmth is palpable. I would have listened to it endlessly. I listen to it often, still to this day. THANK YOU Danyl Johnson . May luck smile on you
