This is the coolest guitar I've seen in a while. I'm working on printing and making one myself, I'm gonna change it up to making it a Headless build just to be different. Hope I can get your blessing for the project.

James Hetfield's V is a prime example of worn and beat up V.

I whould love to make a relic V like it from the scrap jsrd but play like heven im thinking of getting a Mahogany Flying V Gibson style build kit just to build it and them mod the hell out of it... so ya think it a good idea to get a build kit❤😅😊

You could have saved a lot of material and time for that central piece with 7 perimeters and a 25% cubic infill. :) But other than that it's a nice project!

This is a very cool design. Thanks for sharing. I have an Ender3 V3 KE and the print bed is 220 x 220 x 240mm . The pickup block doesn't look like it will fit laying down on my print bed. Do you think this could be printed standing vertical?

pla wire will creep/bend under tension.

The nitro will eventually sink into the grain and crack, which will probably add to the effect! I built a Harley Benton kit guitar that wasn't that bad but the Wilkinson kits I have built from StewMac have been just awesome!

Needs a hidden blade. But cool.

Is the bridge pickup backwards?

That came out looking great! I would have been nervous about that solid brick in the middle. I'd get through half a roll of filament and have something mess up and lose the print! I think I would have tried 35% and if it warped, I would change it out. To that end, I would have kept the final thing a bit more modular so I could sub things out later if necessary... but you don't have to worry about that! Really nice work!

Y’a know, you could try using carbon fiber pla filament for the part with all the tension. It’s rlly strong and doesn’t tend to bend. It’s built for stuff like that.

I'm not a fan of relic'd guitars but this looks pretty cool - just curious, how does it play now? I recently bought a Bex Gears V kit and the quality is superb - except for the hardware and pickups lol - I upgraded everything including the nut with a Tusq XL, Gotoh locking tuners, a heavier bridge and a Gibson TP-6 tailpiece and EMG pickups - it's a great guitar and fun to play so I hope you take the time and little extra $ to enjoy that V especially after all the work you put into it - enjoy!

Hi Andy would love to talk to you about a project I'd love to 3D print a guitar for my son

Instead of a carbon fiber rod why not use an aluminum T-Bar or a piece of flat stock to go in between the two pieces. A piece of T-bar would be better because it would be easier to clean out the channel and it would increase the strength of the middle two pieces.

does the way the filament gets „routed“ affect the way the finished piece can resist bending? My gut feeling tells me: of course. Then the question is: can you whats the optimal routing for a guitar at which orientation =)

Why don't you 3D print the guitar neck? That would be more impressive.
