Trappers Traditional Bushcraft workshop
Просмотров 4112 месяца назад
A good weekend in the forest with simple tools and traditional shelters built form wax cotton tarps, wool blankets and some straw. The entire workshop was conducted by experienced travelers (@DR_RUFUS @CampCraftPL ) with extensive knowledge about "the old ways". Really cool experience, highly recommend testing out how did bushcraft looked like almost two centuries ago.

      It depends on how you ride and your body type, but Nucleus is less flexible so a bigger size should be safer choice. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

    • @ADV.NO.Mad1
      @ADV.NO.Mad1 Месяц назад

      Tarp is waxed so it protects from rain very well. Most animals are afraid of humans so they keep a safe distance. When sleeping in a tent you close yourself in it and when you sleep under a tarp you are just closer to nature.

    I bought a Proteus. Why? Purely for the fit. For my skinnier arms, the Nucleus forearms simply flopped around too much. If you have skinny arms, skip the Nucleus.

    • @ADV.NO.Mad1

      True, Proteus is more elastic so it can be a better choice for people who aren't 100% standard size

    How is the ventilation in pants on cold days? Too much? Too cold? It is easy fix for jackets where you can buy a windstopper like klim zephyr but for pants, I don’t know what I would use to block the wind. What is your experience?

    • @ADV.NO.Mad1
      @ADV.NO.Mad1 2 месяца назад

      In my opinion it also depends on how your legs are protected from wind by bike. When it is around 6*C I start using a thermal base layer, but when it gets closer to 0*C or the weather is getting windy I add fleece pants (Fjord Nansen VIK leggings). But the cheapest and easiest fix for windy conditions is just putting membrane pants on top. TBH I always have them stashed on my bike so if conditions change mid ride I can just put them on and keep riding.

    • @ADV.NO.Mad1
      @ADV.NO.Mad1 2 месяца назад

      W obu przypadkach wentylacja jest na bardzo wysokim poziomie. Wydaje mi się, że w samym Nucleusie jest minimalnie lepsza. Na dojazdy do pracy w bardzo ciepłe dni, wyciągam ochraniacze klatki piersiowej dla jeszcze lepszej wentylacji 😉

    • @ADV.NO.Mad1
      @ADV.NO.Mad1 3 месяца назад

      Hi. They are at most splash proof. For me this is perfect because there is no membrane inside which means better breathing. Which in the end results in more universal product that can be used in different conditions. If you need waterproof pants just add a cheap membrane on top ;)

      @@ADV.NO.Mad1 Thank you. For a waterproof jacket it is easier to solve the problem with my Scott Ergonomic waterproof jacket over whatever jacket I use. With the pants it's a bit trickier. • @ADV.NO.Mad1

      If you want overpants that are easy to put on and off look for one with long zippers and two sizes too big.
