I've taken lots of photos and videos as he has grown, and while he's still a puppy at six months, he's learning a lot and rarely leaves my side. @poopy.butthole Год назад

      @mascotgraphics who frickin knows... I had weird issues with my build that I didn't figure out until a year after I built it. My problem was with the edelbrock intake having poor fitment against the block. The intake hits the China wall on the back side of the block, and when you torque it to spec, it acts as a jack and actually lifts the heads away from the block ever so slighly. Just enough to make coolant weep from the head gasket where there's a coolant passage close to the edge of the block. At the time, I had a newborn baby so I didn't really have the time to fix it right, so there's a bottles worth of k-seal in there now, and no coolant leak whatsoever. Eventually when I have the time though...

    • @mascotgraphics
      @mascotgraphics Год назад

      @@poopy.butthole Oh that's odd about the way that worked. Mine seemed pretty decent and sealed okay, my Edelbrock Magnum heads were drilled for the LA intake, instead of the Magnum intake. I drove the car a couple times after the first shop told me it was done, but that valve noise was louder than a diesel - mostly because no oil was getting to the heads and it started to overheat. After all I spent on it, I decided to just part it out and go with something else, I wasn't going to spend another $1500 on it.

      @mascotgraphics Год назад

      I used my winch for three seasons towing my car to the track, never noticed an issue. Circuit breakers like these, however (this is an older video) are not everyone's favorite because they pop from excessive heat (too much current) and then reset automatically when they cool down. So technically, it should be fine because I'm not using the winch continually, just to pull the car on the trailer. If I was relying on circuit breakers like this constantly for accessory power while driving, I'd go with something else. Think now people are opting for the type of breaker that you have to physically reset, as these aren't on the SuperWinch website anymore, and I've reached out the them multiple times and they simply do not respond.

  • @Racingpappy101
    @Racingpappy101 3 года назад

    I think you have other problems... No way can a engine run and survive with all 16 lifters constantly spraying oil like those 2 modified solid roller lifters. You would flood the top end with oil as you suck the oil pan dry and lose pressure to the bottom end bearings. Each lifter is suppose to get pressurized as the oil hole in lifter moves up and down in the oil passage that feeds each lifter. Looks like passenger side is getting more oil to lifter passage than the driver side. First thing I'd do is to pull the back 2 lifters out on drive side, And run you drill again to prime engine. And Film how much oil is flowing to those back 2 lifter bores as your priming it. It will tell you if theirs a blockage from the front main bearing. Do you know if the 2 small oil galley plugs that's right behind the cam plate was put in? If the plug on driver side was knocked in too far? It may be blocking the oil feed hole coming from the front main bearing that pressurizes the driver side oil passage. Good luck!

    • @mascotgraphics
      @mascotgraphics 3 года назад

      RE: Looks like passenger side is getting more oil to lifter passage than the driver side. - we had three styles of lifters in the engine at that time (before second teardown) and only one set was the modified set. The problems with this engine were numerous: first build failed: no oil to the heads, but 70 psi (80 with the drill during teardown). The builder forgot to put the plug in behind the filter, so no oil was getting filtered and all the first start up shavings went to the crank and bearings, destroying them. They never primed it, but told me the engine was fine... it wasn't. The rings were damaged, the valve guides were burnt, and the crankshaft was scored and needed polishing. ALL internals were 100% brand new parts, only the block was used. The plugs at the back of the block were put in, these were concerns on the first build, and definitely all plugs were checked for the second build. At the time of this video we had pulled the engine out for a third time, and it to this shop because it was basically toast. This was a test of the flow to the heads, which there was none except for that one pair of modified lifters we installed, that was the first sign of oil actually squirting out the lifters. It went down to bare block, back to the machine shop, and new bearings, seals, guides, lifters, rings, etc. were ordered, and the build was completed. The problem at that point was 35 psi cold, 5 psi hot on oil pressure, with the same pump that was putting out 70 psi cold and 40-50 psi hot at idle. So this basically became a money pit and not worth pursuing.

  • @BeatersRus
    @BeatersRus 3 года назад

    seems kinda crazy that you went thru 3 sets and modified the solids to actually work...and now you say you have low oil pressure now that you modded those solids to wash cars,,thats Wayyy too much flow...and is where your oil pressure has gone as far as the non modded lifters......is there a galley plug thats in the wrong place or mia?? in the Block ??

    • @mascotgraphics
      @mascotgraphics 3 года назад

      The story on the build is this: sent it to a Mopar shop locally, had them run it on their run stand and set the timing for me so I could drop it in with a bran new transmission. It was noisy, and no oil to the heads at all. Checked the plug in the back, it was there, but they left the plug out behind the oil filter. Brought it back to them twice, still no oil to the heads, but pressure was about 70 psi cold, 40 warm at idle. Clearly they never primed and checked for pressure. Engine was literally destroyed, needed new bearings, cylinder walls honed again, crank polished, new valve guides, and new rings. Got my money back, took it to a different Mopar shop, he pulled off the intake and primed it, as seen here, good pressure, but lifters weren't pumping oil. So we tore it all down, block went back to the machine shop, new parts ordered, then he finished it and when I installed it I had 30 psi cold, and 5psi hot, second builder won't return my calls or honor his work, so it's basically just sitting now. I know I'm not the first person to do an LA block with Magnum heads, but for some reason nobody could figure out what was wrong with this one.

Currently, a new 408 Stroker small block is being built and once I get that together and get some miles on it, I'll take it back to Willow Springs and see where my lap times are. I've also had a trans built with a close-ratio planet set so my gearing is a little more suited for the track.

      @@fuegococoa Mark Trostle told me way back in 2015 when I wrote about a possible Hellcat Truck that it wasn't going to happen, but I had a source that told me about one they were playing around with. Years later, the TRX comes out. I also remember Sergio saying the Hemi was going away... more than 7 years ago. You never know with those Dodge boys.

    What make and model car? What do the cut-outs provide? Besides sounding awesome.

      It's a 2013 Dodge Charger, and this style is really more for showing off than actually providing a power increase. The increase is minor, but the sound is - awesome!

    Sweet driving man. Your car is great. Have you done any straight 1/4 pulls with them? Do they hook? I am definitely considering these.

      Thanks, I haven't done any quarter mile runs, this engine is a little wimpy in the power department. Aside from that, I've never really liked drag racing as much as road racing.

    Wow, your car must be pushing above 600hp and what impresses also is that MT "street" tire can handle it. I am buying it. Thanks for the video.

      Nice it must be your driving skills then :) I got it now from Amazon. I got 4.10 on my 2001 mustang GT and these tires feel awesome. Glad there are people like you who shares good videos and info for others.

    great video. im explaining to a friend how seats in a car matter for performance beyond just having a lower weight. having driven a couple exotics, an open wheel formula cars as well as some more conventional cars at a decent pace, i know the huge mental effect that a good seat and harness provides. if you are already a consistent driver, a good seat and harness can be one of the single best performance modifications you can add to a car as it lets you drive at your very best. thanks for posting.

      +homestyle2000 Thank you. I raced the car initially as a fluke; it handled so well that we made it a project car and slowly made improvements over the course of two years. This was to illustrate the point you made, that buckled in you can concentrate more on driving and less on trying to hang on. Even with a severe flu that day, I was able to knock a second off my lap times. I only raced two sessions that day because I was ill, so it only proved that point even further.

    It had Michigan plates.. in California, it had the gray brembo brakes, it had a fat dual exhaust with a new rear fascia, and it had test equipment on top and inside... It was a test mule.
