The Punks LP 1973-1977
Просмотров 64 тыс.7 лет назад
The Punks formed in Waterford, Michigan in 1973. Active participants in the Detroit 70s rock & roll (what we now call Proto-Punk) scene, they were often compared to the likes of The Stooges, The MC5, (their two most prominent influences) The Dogs and Death. The Punks fit the Detroit sound of the time for sure, but definitely add their own flair or thunderous guitars and blistering energy. In 19...
RUDE KIDS MARQUEE 1979
Просмотров 7 тыс.8 лет назад
From the Safe Society LP 1979 Best known for their track on Killed By Death Vol.II "Absolute Ruler", Rude Kids were a Swedish raw punk band, some claim this particular track is the first Swedish punk song to use the D-Beat. Regardless, they rule. Check out the record here- mrwiredandwasted.blogspot.com/2013/08/rude-kids-safe-society.html I don't own this or any of Rude Kids songs.

    # 2 sounds like a riff on Courageous Cat, that dolls did also, and I can attest that channel 7 played Courageous Cat early week day mornings in early 70's, I watched it then. Channel 7 is a Detroit area ABC station, that also played cool WWWW commercials, before Howard Stern worked there.

Rocks Funeral would have fit in with the other LA Death Rock songs of the early 80's. Vocals sound like a mix of Rozz and maybe even HR? Did Ministry every admit they stole from Drop Dead? They had to have right? I doubt Greg Ginn or Discharge guys listen to this band but who knows. Lets get Rollins to investigate. I wish there was 100 more Stooges clones/inspired by pre 76.

At first, this sounded like a Stooges ripoff, but when those dirty guitars kick in at 1:27 and don’t let up for the duration of the song, you know you’re in for something different.

Hey here is the post I just posted on a Facebook page called "Punk Stories, History, Flyers and music"" .. all you OG punkers out there may want to friend that page, it's my fav page on the internet.. here is what I put,... Well, this settles it. This is the original band. All the others ripped them off. I hear some DK, some Flag, some Ramones in all this, or this in them. The fucking rip off Rolling shit stone always gives the credit the bands making the big music mafia money , when there are endless bands doing it before them (and I love the Ramones). It's obvious these Kats played to some younger dudes, who took it and ran , including stealing the term "punk". This is my new fav band, all the rest can bow down. I'm only on track two, and it's my fav band. And too drunk to fuck sure sounds ALOT like track 2...
